I wish their music would get picked up more by just ads/show or something (anything to fund the development of more of their music) - it feels like the US market, just ain’t giving them the respect that I wish they get. I love their lyrics, I love their sound. I’ve happily put them with Welshly Arms, the War on Drugs, and Gregory Alan Isakov and others.
This guy has one of the best voices in music of all time.

I came across their music on a trip to Iceland. It was a treat to come home and see them live in Denver! Both the 2013 and 2016 albums are incredibly listenable!!

Thanks to Kaleo! - This song has a soulful feel. I love JJ's voice and all the instrumentation, of course. I wish I understood the lyrics better, but perhaps they're meant to be somewhat ambiguous, open ended, or metaphorical.
I think it's quite clear he is singing about his career in the music industry. He's essentially saying he is stressed out, probably has a lot of fake people around him that just befriended him for his fame. That why he asks if they would be there when it all went up in flames. He feels needed, but alone at the same time, even though he has a lot of people behind him they might not be there to catch him if he falls. His "baby" refers to his musical talent, the band, etc

@@detectivekornfed Well I first heard them on the radio with "Way Down We Go" but if I had to pick an actual favorite it would be "Broken Bones" or "No Good". What about you?
@@jammerboi8401, No Good and Broken Bones are two of my favs as well! I think Broken Bones was the first I heard, and it was on Pandora. I stopped the work I was doing and checked out the band and song info.
@@detectivekornfed yea, Broken Bones is incredible. Also, I need to add, I saw a comment explaining the lyrics and they made a good point that the song could be about Billy Boy Arnold since there is a lyric about "Billy boy" but I just assumed that was a filler name. Who knows, I need to research Billy Boy to see if I can find anymore correlating lyrics. I enjoy lyrics with open meanings, but I just enjoy figuring them out the best I can.
