    Thanks for the quick showcase, been playing around a little with it, but did not have much time with it yet.
    Definitely loving the new additions and possibilities - the Relay and Broadcast blocks can be great resources for vanilla Scenarios as well - Looking forward fiddling around with that.
    Another great mechanic they added was the claiming of NPC ships, I feel that is in preparation for their upcoming PVE update (really curious about that one).
    I think the only thing you might have missed is the small grid consoles, Which is gonna be great for Large Small grid ships.

      I have already incorporated that idea on my main large grid ship. Plop down a hinge with a small hinge head and stack as many programmable blocks timer blocks for functionality as needed now I can just add more functionality by using these blocks to activate the scripts from the distance. Being away from base and telling the miner at base to start mining while I'm on my way back

    The Message Block will be useful for Drones, Drone: "Coming into dock." "Docking Complete"

    Oh that's cool. I wonder if you could use these signal blocks to disable splitters at a mining station so our transports can only pick up ingots that are in demand.

    • @LilTikiBoy
      @LilTikiBoy 9 місяців тому +3

      You can. You just need a sorter for each ingot type and a signal relay to turn each of them on/off. Just make sure that each of them are on a different channel. Then when you send a signal from the relay on your base/ship/whatever to the mining station, it should turn the sorter attached to that particular channel on/off. You might also want to do a signal relay to turn them all off, as well as one to turn them all back on. Just in case you forget which ones are on/off or if you want to reset or turn the system entirely.

      Fire one with a missile and a magnets plate at an enemy and you could plant a 'tracker' for when he jumps.

    Did you noticed that the "Quick Start" scenario is actually the old lone station with the red ship that comes in the game since space engineers stone age, but updated. Love the update of the scenario and the "upgrade" of the old "Red Ship"
    And i cant wait to see the giant, server killing, carrier battles that will come

    My favorite thing to do with the action relay is use it to manage drones. One channel deploys them, another puts them into a waiting mode, and a third recalls them back to their docks.

    Is there a way to get the chat messages onto an LCD, like get a LCD to listen to a chat channel and display its message?

    i wouldn't mind seeing some copper, aluminum, lithium, etc.. ores that are actually needed for certain blocks. (I.e. lithium for power cells, copper for electrical components like rotors, maybe aluminum that lets you build cheaper "armor" blocks when you're just getting started or in a space that's just aesthetic, not functioning as actual armor)

  • @Suzuki_Hiakura
    @Suzuki_Hiakura 8 місяців тому +1

    I have rather unpleasant memories of my starter rover crashing due to tipping and the cargo container would break, with enough ore to interact with the blocks incasing it, which would cause clang to blow up the entire back half of the rover :) Glad that a mini cargo container will drop instead of just killing my rover lol. Also hoping those narrow passages have higher durability, to act as small access hatches lol. This seems like the first DLC in a while that I would actually like to buy :D

    It really sounds neat i dont play at all with other players though because of the nature of my job which kinda sucks but i do like the channel idea its like a cb where the common use channel is channel 19 now it would be really awesome of the antenna can detect nearby lightning and send put either a warning message or turn the lights red or something to let the player know a storm is a brewin'

  • @travispluid3603

    You can use those new broadcast blocks to keep track of where your drone cargo ships get shot down at by enemies. You can have the cockpit pick up a target lock or a Defensive pick up a nearby enemy, have that trip the Broadcast to send off a GPS coordinate, and then find the wreckage later, and not need to wonder if it got shot down.
    Or you can have it send a GPS for Battery Low with an event controller- send the GPS message when you only have 1% power remaining.

    The last time they added a new resource was ice. When the game first went live, it only had ion thrusters and jetpacks ran off energy.

    Damaged cargo containers no longer exploding and releasing cargo which can bounce around and do more damage sounds good, but will the cargo containers themselves not slide around doing damage if you are moving?

    Got to admit I really dislike the new scenario menu. Tap tap tapping through a couple of images at a time is maddening.
    I've got A LOT of scenarios off the workshop. It takes AGES to navigate now, and the game seems to protest if you go too fast too.

    except if you grind down a block with an empty inventory it still drops the little box. really annoying thinking you dropped stuff in every drill you're taking down. ( sorry if i have any spelling errors, typing with a broken finger)

      I have to disagree man. Sure the update seems and is small when talkin about amount of new blocks but, (quoteing Neil Amstrong) is a small step but a giant leap at same time. The key word here to sum it all up is FLEET. A one man fleet.

      How can you get the short side of the deal on a game you likely paid $20 for ten years ago that is still putting out content? This sort of update would be $40 on any modern AAA title and the entire game would be EOL 2 years later...

    • @Nymrod78
      @Nymrod78 8 місяців тому +1

      @@Hailstrumm Yes you are right. Automaton blocks have been around for a while now. You can have good behavior with them. But they needed to be preseted and cant be changed on the go (actually there was a way to do it but was simply impractical). Now we can set different behaviors and order our drone to attack, withdraw, dock, etc by simply pressing one key from our own ship's seat/cockpit while we do our own moves, and even more over that is that you can do it with multiple drones at same time with ONE KEY
