Hi Arini, normally I prefer using USB cable, which is the fastest, as the "Noises" during the print job transmission is reduced to the minimal compared to Router wireless, and reduce the risk of network downtime/ network disconnection due to the unstable wireless connection, especially when I want to print large files from AI, PS, etc. Personal opinion, I felt that we had used most of the bandwidth of our home router wireless for working purposes, streaming live video, online gaming, etc. Especially in Malaysia, ISP tends to provide basic router, the AC1200 router, which has short Wi-Fi coverage and slow transfer rate. The router I got from my ISP, I can't even enjoy the 80% of the network speed that I subscribe to, not to mention when I paired it with all my mobile phones, PCs, tv box, printer, etc, and getting blocked by the concrete walls. I had to upgrade my router to Triband AX6600 to have better network coverage, faster transmission rate, and finally fully utilize the network speed I had subscribed to. Although I enjoy the convenience from Wireless connection for printing, however, when it comes to important documents, or expensive media, I will always use the safest method, whether is through USB cable, or ethernet cable, so that I will not get disconnected from either one of my devices ( the router, the PC, or the printer).
@@kd_tech Woww thanks so much for replied me. So if u using the usb cable, will it make the driver file in the laptop becomes 2 ? I installed already to my laptop using wifi, but im not sure what kind of wifi (either router wireless or direct wifi) since it quite fast to connect so i didnt realise. Now, i want to connect using cable usb, should i installed another driiver by repeating the setup again? And one more question while attaching usb cable to the laptop, can the printer still accept command wirelessly from another phone ?
Hi Arini, normally when I install the printer driver or add printer from control panel/settings, I will rename the printer driver according to the connection I used, let’s say G3060 - WiFi, G3060 - USB, etc. Then when I print, I will know which driver I am using. You can do try out any method below to have cleaner/ better printer listing: Method 1: In printer setting (under control panel or settings), check out each printer connection method via its ports (under printer properties). If it is WSD, then rename the printer as Wifi printer. If it is virtual usb port, then rename it as usb. Method 2: Remove all the printer from the list, then re-add printer with proper name. (No need to run the driver installer as the driver had installed to the pc. Using Windows’ Add Printer function will be sufficient)
Yes, whether the printer is connected with Wi-Fi or USB cable concurrently, the printer will still able to print. It depends on which devices print first to the printer. The next queuing print job will come in after the first one completed.
Hi, download printer driver first from Canon website to your notebook, then pair your notebook to the printer's direct wifi, then install driver. The driver should be able to detect the printer under the wifi direct. However, if you want to pair it with your home wifi, then make sure the printer is connect to your home wifi first before installing the same printer driver.

Can you change printer's wifi name or password? If you switch off the printer will the printer's wifi name still appear in the phone? Do you need to redo the steps after you switch off then switch on printer? Thanks.
1) Yes, both wifi name and password are modifiable. 2) Like your wifi router, once you turn off, the wifi will turn off as well. When you switch it back on, then the wifi will turn on the same time and the phone will detect it back again. 3) let me check it out first and get back to you.

Hi, you can disable it on the printer. Press Setup button > select Device Setting press ok > select LAN settings press ok > select Wireless Direct press ok > select Switch WL Direct press ok > Select No press ok
Hi, for G3010, the configuration super easy. Just press the "Direct" button (with square phone icon), then wait for it until fully enable. Then you can pair to the printer wirelessly via its AP mode.
Hi Elizabeth, after the printer shows up the password -> go to mobile phone turn on wifi, connect to the printer wifi (requires the password shown on screen) -> then start printing

Hi, the setup is only needed to do once. Next time just need to turn on printer and phone’s wifi, then can start printing ady.
