House is obviously Holmes, Wilson is Watson, he lives at 221 apartment b and the whole story line where people come to him with cases that nobody else can solve. watch it repeatedly and always find lots of little gems connected to Sherlock.
most importantly, Sherlock: "I'm a consulting detective. The only one in the world. I invented the job." Just like House did with the Department of Diagnostic Medicine
One of my main arguments when people say that Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock is too harsh and too much of a "high-functioning sociopath" is that House, who's more or less deliberate modelled on Holmes, is just as, if not more "antisocial" than him.
Cumberelf Benedict Cumberbatch version of Sherlock Holmes is the first Sherlock Holmes I’ve ever really enjoyed. Knowing now that dr. House is based on Sherlock explains a lot.
They're both arrogant people who think they're smarter than everyone else, but the difference is in how the shows themselves portray or view that part of the characters. Sherlock is portrayed as an all knowing savant, he's literally what the hardcore annoying Batman fanboys think Batman is every sociopathic behaviours he shows which can be harmful to others is justified by his intelligence, the show doesn't want you or the other characters to question him and the whole world revolves around him. In house md, House's arrogance is portrayed as a flaw, he doesn't know everything, and his arrogance isnt justified by his intellect, the show itself constantly questions whether he is a good person or a bad person and it allows the characters and the viewers to do so as well
@@abhijithpaulm4844 That is why I disagree the Benedict version is more like a neurodivergent human than a robot. In fact Benedict's version is borderline personality disorder...not robotic.
@some cup with a head... Well ACD said it himself... Sooo "Arthur Conan Doyle met Bell in 1877, and served as his clerk at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. Doyle later went on to write a series of popular stories featuring the fictional character Sherlock Holmes, who Doyle stated was loosely based on Bell and his observant ways.[6] Bell was aware of this inspiration. According to Irving Wallace (in an essay originally in his book The Fabulous Originals but later republished and updated in his collection The Sunday Gentleman), Bell was involved in several police investigations, mostly in Scotland, such as the Ardlamont mystery of 1893, usually with forensic expert Professor Henry Littlejohn. Bell also gave his analysis of the Ripper murders to Scotland Yard."

And they are both composing music . And they love puzzles both of them . Sometimes i think that they're the same person.
Funny enough, Laurie would make a great Sherlock Holmes
Also holmes is pronounced like Homes
And he is House😂
most importantly, Sherlock: "I'm a consulting detective. The only one in the world. I invented the job." Just like House did with the Department of Diagnostic Medicine
Some people forget that Sherlock Holmes took a shit ton of drugs lol
And as a hobby
Sounds like House and him have something in common. Love em both, their heads are a labyrinth I wouldn't mind getting lost in if I could.
A 7% solution of cocaine actually.

Different characters though.
The original Sherlock Holmes character in the books was not that way at all.

Full circle
The iceberg gets so deep
This man's existence is why I'm still alive. Crazy as it sounds
how?
so strange to hear his accent
Wow saw the similarities but now I know he actually was based of Sherlock cool
Sherlock Holmes was based on a doctor Artur Conan Doyle knew. So House is more Sherlock than Sherlock is Sherlock.
