    Sure that cam has a sequence and torque spec checking valve clearance with out proper torque is a little odd

      You can torque em if you like...ive done this 8000 times now so i have a good feel. The process doesn't change

    Nice job I have to do the same stuff on my yam 20valve but they’re a bucket style shin that fit over the valve stem end I’ve accumulated some over the years but many times the etching comes off so I have to mic em all 😳 thankfully on a rd bike they only need looking at infrequently Do u get much valve seat recession or valve face wear on your valves and seats over the course of a season ?

    Subscribed!I am changing my stock cylinderhead with another k3 cylinderhead with k5 cams with adjustable cams and thinner head gasket and wanted to check the valve clearance.I have the manual but this video made some things more clear!Thank you very much!And something else,do you think i should skim my head a minimum amount just to make sure the gasket seals nice?

      Thanks for the subscribe! As for a skim cut...i would check the head first. Just use a straight edge and some feeler gauges between chambers to check for low spots. A few thou is acceptable, .004 and over is questionable. Id hold off on a surface cut as a last resort.

    Where did you get these shims from?

    • @tpsfab
      @tpsfab  2 роки тому +2

      Some are from complete heads ive purchased for parts but most i buy in "kits" off Amazon or Ebay. You can get them as kits in different size ranges. Just know that the 1k is a small diameter than the busa shims
