Today I attempt to start into a long journey on Runescape Classic. I learn just what is like to play Runescape Classic (RSC), along with attempting to complete all quests at the lowest level and utilize bugs along the way.
Throughout this game there are many glitches you would never see in Oldschool, and it is an eye opening experience as it runs on an entirely different engine, combat system, and more. Some of the concepts are kept similar to OSRS, but not a lot. I am having a wonderful time playing RSC lately and if this series does moderately well I plan on continuing these videos as sort of a side series to the Defence Saga series. :) Let me know what you think in the comments below!

fuck Raid. worst game out there.
I really hope the "#1" in the title means that this series will continue. I got so invested in the 1 hour and 40 minutes that I was devastated that there wasn't a part two.
Finally, someone showing some love to RSC. I play rscVanilla quite often. Some things to note about legends quest: The part of the quest where you need 42 prayer, you can fail, meaning you need to walk back to the monastery to get your +2 boost again. Also, the demons you fight in legends quest you must do in one instance, if you run to eat, they will despawn. And, depending on whether you choose to weaken the demon with the holy water, the demons will drain your prayer at the beginning at the fight. Another thing to note: you can use magic attacks while using melee and they will stack. It's a good way to fight higher level monsters that you can't defeat with just melee. Have fun I look forward to the series:)

Fun fact, I was the very last person on RSC to get 99 smithing… streamed it on the last day in 2018… (yes I booted). I miss RSC so much 😢

This is awesome! I've always been fascinated by classic and regularly watch rsc videos. It's cool to see my favorite OSRS content creator try new stuff in such an old game. Will definitely be following this.

rscrevolution is more fun than an exact replica. while Rendi is there I could see why youd want to play tho
Great video. I used to play this back when it was the only version of RuneScape. Really nice to see it again. One tip btw, not sure if you've figured this out already but when someone or something attacks you then you can retreat after they hit you three times but if you spam to run away or just click to retreat right after their third hit then you only get 2 hits on them while they get 3 on you (which is what happened with the giant bats).
To maximise potential damage done vs damage taken you should wait for your character to hit their third hit before retreating. If you're the one to initiate the attack then you can safely spam since you can't retreat before you hit them 3 times. If you're going for more than 3 rounds then you also want to retreat after one of your hits (as opposed to theirs), so you get the last hit without getting one in return. At least this is how I remember it working anyway.
Edit: not actually sure you can retreat in a long fight right after doing a hit and not getting one back. But the first part of what I said should apply at least.
Fantastic video. From my own RSC experience I was shocked how much it is just like RS2 (which obviously isn't too strange, but let's say you want to kill imps and they're common in Fally it will be the same in RSC, same with the shops etc.). GL Rendi, was a great watch!

I honestly haven't played RSC enough to know anything about the game, other than the fact I played RS first, then tried RSC, and realized it was much slower. Thus, I didn't commit to playing RSC. However, now I may give RSC another chance. It actually seems like a lot of fun, especially when OSRS came out, starting over with a fresh account was a lot of fun. Great content, as always. Looking forward to seeing how this series plays out. Good luck on your grinds!

You actually can fail to hit trees in RS, it just invisibly rerolls and that's why magics take so long is because their failrate is so high.

This is so fun. I was one of the lower levels to do dragon slayer to make a mage door blocker for castle pking(which is a hilarious mechanic), but I wasn't all hardcore about this. My brain says level 18, could be way off, and since photobucket is dead I couldn't find the pics. Maybe you could dig around old tipit forums, but I won't!

Really loving all the videos you do - I have always been interested in glitches and bugs in games and seeing the things you do in Runescape is crazy. RCS nostalgia! I played since 2002 so seeing it brings back those memories. Had scythe, bunny ears, masks. I think when RS2 came out, I was only level 64 combat.
2003 here. I miss classic so much.
Brothers! Later this month I'll hit 22 years with my main, and I believe I was 70 when I swapped over. Highest level was mining, and I was 81 mining when I swapped. This video had the perfect dose of nostalgia for my old ass. Hope you both are doing well!

This looks super fun. I'm only a bit in so far, but I just wanted to comment that fatigue was added a lot later in RSC. some of the early bugs prior to fatigue being added I can remember is the knife bug where you could equip entire inventories and basically max hit anything. this is back in the goodmagic evilmagic days.

Love this. I made 3 episodes of a series on exactly the same concept in 2018 (which about 6 people have ever seen haha). I finished heroes quest and was having a blast but lost motivation when the upcoming closure of the official servers was announced. Hope you continue your adventure!

One suggestion I have is to give your 2 characters (low level / high level) different outfits to help tell them apart visually. Just helps read what's going on better :)
My brain was actually expecting you to release something in relation to RSC after seeing this video.
I enjoyed this more then I expected. Makes you realise how much less grindy the game has become. The amount of walking you have done is insane lol

This game is so punishing and I love it. People think RS3 is soft but the switch to RS2 felt the same. Being able to EAT in combat caused SO many people to suddenly be able to beat Dragon Slayer. People refused to do Underground Pass or Legends Quest until RS2 came out.
And then the players on 01Scape think RSC is easyScape too 😅

On classic the safest area for planks is right next to barbarian agility course, love the vid btw
So crazy I just started playing the cabbage server because it has the 5x exp and batching which makes the gameplay hella fun with quality of life updates. Just finished lost city and got dragon sword 🗡️ so I’m cmbt 66 bout o grind the rest of the quests for glory. So ironic I seen this drop because I was debating on leveling on the persevation server

Don't know if anyone has said this yet, but ranged attacks are also used at a distance and they do not fail. I do not know if this is better dps than air strike with max mage bonus on.

16:20 The reason there are two Gertrudes, and multiples of many quest NPCs, is because in RSC only one person can talk to an NPC at a time. When there were only one of a certain quest NPCs, players would grief each other by repeatedly talking to them, preventing other players from advancing quests.

A note about training attack on dummies with wines:
It was fairly popular when I was a kid, to see 'Wine Pures' which were just rune 2h pkers that got 40 attack at wines to keep their hp down.
I think you'd get 40 attack at like 12 combat or something crazy.
But I'm sure most of them botted because rsc was a bot haven.
I'm building a pure on Vanilla server like that right now! bought beers at the pub for 2gp each, trained up to 40 attack at dummies. Currently 40/1/43 with 32 hp and 31 combat. Plan is 40/1/99 with 34 prayer. Not a botter btw haha :)
@CorianderRSC don't know the meta as I was a f2p noob. I remember training in black knights fortress with paralyze monster near the altar. Where will you train?
@@darnit006 I was a f2p noob as a kid too. Because I don't have to risk armor or anything, I usually afk in wildy somewhere. Started at rats, now thugs, eventually hobgoblins and ice giants

Oh this will be extremely interesting! I started playing rsc just recently and got addicted right away. Wish I played that back in the days.
I recall being able to partially cure fatigue by using sleeping bag and entering the given phrase as soon as you could. Could help in situations like this: 1:34:50
