I convinced my sister to try Terraria a while back. She encountered the dungeon, and like the amazing sister I am I convinced her to go into it and explore. I then laughed my head off as the Dungeon Guardian triggered. This was on her livestream, too. I later did this same prank to a friend. Best prank ever.

To add on to #9, use statues from a distance and timers to spawn in blood moon enemies, it’s even more convincing now.
True, and I did consider it, but I was thinking of adding a few harmless pranks in, like this one, since I already had a lot of deadly ones.
facts. Deadly pranks are pretty common. Explosives or Traps already exist.
Don't forget a blood fountain to make the water red, too!

I’m a bit surprised there wasn’t one related to using shadow paint and calling it a lighting glitch. It gets even better if you have a resource pack that makes shadow painted blocks look just like unpainted blocks if your friend asks for a screenshot.

When playing calamity, I sometimes try to sneak a gender change potion into my friend's inventory along with the buff potions before a boss fight, and see how long it takes him to realize.

Qcean needs to do a video of her own where qcean makes the pranks and khaios is the test dummy, because as khaios himself said, expect to be pranked back.
This was done in Tmod: The WeaponOut mod has a weapon called Staff of Explosion (Which is basically Megumin's staff)
The weapon has recoil implemented and the explosion will push players away depending on where you aim. I utilized this to move my afk friend to a teleporter and bring them all the way to the brimstone crag or sulphurous seas (We play Calamity a bunch). Every time he returned, he just said "Why am I here?"

Bonus points to number 15: don't get caught the first time they come to you and wait for them to leave... move the alter slightly to the left or right and resume position. See if you can fool them again and do something a bit different (remove one piece of armor or swap it with something else, flip the stance in the opposite direciton etc.). Find out how many iterations you can get away with.
Why not use the announcement box trick to just outright say "The air is getting colder around you..." or any of the other pre-boss Spawning messages? That way you can immediately send them into fight or flight, as they scramble to prepare for a "terrible night". The air is getting colder around you..." looks identical to the normal message, so while keen eyed players might notice that there's no boss spawn with the "Skeletron Prime has awoken!" Message, there's NO way to tell which one is real with the other one.
the pre-summon messages i dont think can be timed that well without a ludicrous amount of timers, since its before the night time sensor goes off

with shimmer, you can prank friends by pouring shimmer at their spawnpoint (and the world spawn, if they get wise) so that they fall through their base and into a trap you set. works best if the friend doesn't have the anti-shimmer cape and lives in a grounded base, because then you can force them to shimmer into the underworld.
My favourite one is just placing landmine at random location, like inside a cave, friend house or at the farm and paint the landmine the same colour as the background or the floor, and watch ...
Adding on to 9: Using a music box with the 'eerie' theme and statues that spawn enemies will make it even more believable
Khaios is secretly devious. A lot of these pranks I can totally see him setting up in Terracorps Season 2, as long as he's the first one on the server (which seems easy enough)
Love that BlueJay's prank was the final one. His is a staple of the server let's plays.

this is a tradition for my high school, mostly its pranking a class in the middle school.
Out of all the pranks/trolls I've seen in Terraria, I don't think any of them are as simple as placing a landmine on the grass painting it grey so it looks like a rock, then when your friends walk over it thinking it's just a decorative rock, they boom

I was playing on a master mode world with my friend, it was our second day of playing, and they had placed 200 torches down our helevator, causing the torch god to spawn and kill us every time we went underground. It got very frustrating lol.
just break all the torches and you wouldn't have to deal with torch GOD
@@weefuriousgamer7373 every time I go down, it spawns. It’s master mode, so 2-3 hits killed me. Even if I broke a few, there were 200, meaning it would still spawn.

Hey Khaios, I was the one in the live chat who recommended the idea of anti-build zones using target dummies. Also, I am surprised Strawberry Pigron wasn’t here, but amazing work!
#9 can be improved on by adding an 'eerie' music box along with the monolith to make it be more convincing with the music!
and as that one guy said, Statues, Lots of statues on timers
also make the text green and say "THE blood moon is rising" this is how the actual message is and will make it much more convincing!

Two words for the pranks that i used to do:
Echo Blocks
Put some actuators and watch the show
Now that the transmutation glitch has been discovered, you can set something up at a queen bee larva to summon her without breaking the larva. You can use this to summon a large ammount of queen bees that will kill you, then fly over to your friends for a big suprise.
This video was amazing! I convinced my little sister to create a world designed for pranks (single player), and she started building a base. Then it was my turn. I did the geyser prank and placed a bunch of painted landmines randomly in the world. In a far away corner of the crimson, I did the "air is getting colder" one, and I figured out how to make it say "skeletron prime has awoken!" a certain time later!
And then, under her base, I gave her some peaceful white noise.
I called her back into the room, and gave her the controller.
But what I didn't know?
She had watched this video, too!
As she walks into her base, all you can hear is the noise. And she looked me right in the eyes, and said "Where's the dummy?!" XD
My best prank was setting up a player sensor on the way to the world's skyrail, which was connected to an announcement box with a large chunk of the snapcube eggman moon rant on it, so whenever they took the normal route to the skyrail the chat would be graced with "I'VE COME TO MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT[...]" in red.
Even better was the fact that the sensor was super sensitive for some reason, so it would be activated multiple times whenever someone walked over it, filling up the chat completely.
Everyone was beyond confused, and it went on for a play session or two (the skyrail wasn't used super often and there here multiple ways up) until they noticed the announcement box, it was fantastic.

My math teacher actually pranked my entire class. He said that we did horrible on the test and we have to redo it, but he said that it was an April fools joke, it was a funny April fools prank.

Dialogue with my friend before he stepped on the button that triggers 200 pounds of explosives:

I did the skeletron prime on my friend doing a fresh world. The scream was wonderful, thank you for giving me this idea.
I had a base where we had all of our chests and crafting stations downstairs. To go up and down there were vertical stairs to each side of the basement. I used diagonal platforms against a one wide wall to transform the wall into a one way gate, and every once in a while, when they went to the side to then go up out of the basement, they kept pressing forward and ended up in a closed dark room behind the one way gate, having to mirror out. Its just amazing to see them frustrated at the fact that they forget about it every 10 minutes.
(Also hidden duck statues are amazing and really noisy)
Even better is to go to a different world, get some temple bricks and shadow paint. That way once you force them into the box, they are trapped and cannot dig out if it's pre-golem

@@lordmarum well of course you'd let them still have recall. (However you COULD do brick around spawn then go to their bed and break then replace it, removing their set spawn without them knowing. Then they would spawn in a cube with only wormhole as an exit.
Or even better now, echo brick. It's invisible.

You could somehow set up a torch god like boss battle where the mannequin comes to life and attacks your friend
Best April fools prank ever: you take a cup, fill it to the brim with water, put a piece of paper on the top, flip it over, put it on a counter, then just pull the paper out the bottom.
Ultimate prank: summon wall of flesh to annoy friends; we somehow defeat the wall of flesh; now we’re in hardmode, we haven’t beaten the brain of Cthulhu yet, and one of us is still in wooden armour.
I’ve got a great prank I’ve used before with amazing results. It’s a bit tedious to setup, but essentially just make an up hoik out of echo blocks that leads into some death trap.
Another favorite of mine that I can’t claim responsibility for is to paint stuff in the color of the Minecraft missing texture (bonus points if you pretend it still looks normal for you). It won’t work on everyone, but some people will fall for it hook line and sinker. I play with a friend who has experienced a few file corruptions, and I’ve been painting some of the things he builds. Mostly npc houses, never anything that clearly took time and effort. To this day he has yet to figure it out.
I keep two empty bottles of Hershey Syrup on-hand. One that used to be strawberry syrup, and one that used to be their easily-recognized chocolate syrup. The joke? I just fill them with water and use them as sports bottles for about a week. You should see the looks I get at the gym when I'm walking the treadmill. lol

Could you use the blockswapping platforms to make an actuator-less hoik mob farm? Since zombies and other fighter npcs will go down through platforms to reach you, entering the hoik?

There's an annoying person on the server my friends and I play on, and he will teleport to you at random.
I was hellstone mining with an obsidian skin potion.
You can see where this is going.
I often prank my friends just by digging a hole beneath them while they are afk and letting them fall. They dont die and they can get out quite easily but its still fun to see thier reaction.

This was way back in the days of 2015, me and my friend were having a day together playing: d&d, terraria, Mario kart, etc… We were getting ready for the wall of flesh and being the dumb nine year old I was I thought it would be funny to use a little trick I picked up on UA-cam… I dropped multiple guide voodoo dolls in at a time, maybe like six, and the next thing you know we have a monstrosity amalgamation of walls of flesh bounding towards us… we died obviously.

4:00 Just noticed some pretty cool details about the effort that’s put into these videos. There must be a cut between “Test Dummy” walking away from house, and walking into house, as the platform properties are changed, but there would be a noticeable jump because of it, due to the cloud in the background and their constant movement. This means the background must have been edited out for a still picture to make the cut clean and smooth. One small issue however, is that if you look directly at the grass shown at the bottom right of the screen, you can see it disappear as the cut happens. While it’s not a clean cut and instead a fade, it still signifies when it happens. 1. get a coruption or crimson music box
2. place it under the ground near something important, like spawn or a pylon
3. hide it just enough so the music still plays but the music box isnt noticable
4. ??????

For the announcement box thing maybe you should wait at the announcement box with switch’s attached and do the switches yourself allowing for the first part to be there
Last time I played with my best friend, I took advantage of Journey mode and just kept spawning rabbits in his house. It was hilarious, he couldn't kill them all fast enough and was confused what was going on at first.
I gave my friend who was new to Terraria a Suspicious Looking Eye. It was night time and I told them that they could get an eye pet to follow them around if they used it.

i pained my friends house all black. he got really mad at me but it was worth it, he got his payback by filling up one of my main houses with water and sand and crab spawners
One time I set up a quarter second timer to a trapped chest, which activated mimic and wraith statues
I told my friend that the chest was very important and that I put all my money in there and saw a death message a few seconds later
in calamity mod the 10th prank could be very useful, acting as a mob switch, because in calamity it blocks mob spawns while a boss is alive.
My best prank was done in tmoloader with veinminer installed. I told my friend to bind veinmine on left click and when he went afk I put him into a cage made of copper ore with a hole underneath. He came back, mined 1 block, it instamined all the blocks below him and he fell to his death

I came here wanting to see pranks. Then intro showed a dog and a dude. I then remembered the meme "prank him john" and saw the dude walking menacingly to the dog. I was worried at what could happen but then the intro showed they were fine at the end
my favourite prank is buying a tonne of landmines and aquire a lot of echo coating. Then, well, yeah.
#8 would be better if it gave the boss spawning text, i.e. "vibrations from deep below" with the accompanying hex color.

Tip platform stairs stacked up vertically against a wall makes it walk through able like a one way door
A friend was new to Terraria and I had him continue a hellevator we had began to dig. I told him to go first, I had something else to take care of. When he jumped in the hellevator, I dropped a boulder after him. This worked twice.

with echo paint lots of things could be hidden easily as well making it a lot easier to hdie things like the guide house so it wont even show on the map so no one could find it unless they bump into it :)

So on the skeletron prime one, what if you did the "Air is getting colder", then set up a thing like a bird engine or whatever to perfectly delay so that the "Skeletron prime awakened!" Is perfectly timed every night,to fool even people who normally pay attention to that quote

i flooded an entire base of an entire enemy faction in the mc server i used to play, then put a sign out that said eekum bokum (i think that was the name of the faction) aquatic update!!!!
