Got the S9 today - the speakers are insanely loud it really surprised me.

Somewhat excited of the new lineup of devices, my S22U and tab S8U have been very solid devices!
What I got appauled by though is how LITTLE you get back for your previous flagship devices if you decide to trade them in. There may be reasons for that, not sure if they're good enough though, but to that i say: No thanks Samsung. Not that I need to at the moment but I felt like mentioning it.
Appreciate that they took the time to update the S Pen, with probable benchmarking against the Apple Pencil ii.

I traid my Tab S6 Lite with Tab S9+. I was between plus and Ultra but plus seemed made more sense in daily use and while taking notes

More than the iPad Pro m2 with Magic Keyboard?
I ordered the Tab S9 Ultra the day it was announced, and received it two days later. It wasn't too expensive with the trade in of my S8 Ultra and an older S7 I had lying around. With the added launch discounts, I ended up paying 433 Euros for the 16GB Ram, 1T storage S9 ultra with the slim keyboard cover.
It's a beast, just like the previous one was. I was missing the ability to remove the screen-covering part of the cover I had with the full keyboard cover (a freebie when the S8 Ultra launched). So, I just ordered and received today the simple Hybrid Smart Cover, as well as the Note View Cover.
I'm getting the best deal possible: The backside part of the smart cover accomodates the new camera design of the S9, and is my favorite way to use the tablet for media and browsing (back cover only, naked screen). It holds the pen fast and always charged. If I need a keyboard, the front part of the S8 Ultra full keyboard+track-pad cover fits and works just fine! For drawing and taking notes, the note view cover feels even betterthan the naked screen, and reduces glare.

Haha, yeah, I've seen a few of those videos and thought... yeah, there's no way that's the Tab S9, that's definitely the Tab S8. I figured if I could provide enough valuable information with some decent footage from the launch event, that would make up for not having the product in hand. We'll see how it goes :)

Hi! Great vid. I have a question. Did you mention that the 9 and 9+ models changed size comparing to previous generation? But that means I can buy an s8 ultra case for the 9 ultra?
That's because I pre ordered the s9 ultra but the original case seems too expensive for me and I'm thinking about getting a generic one from amazon. Just want the protection, noting fancy.

It looks like you can get an S8 Ultra case for an S9 Ultra based on the dimensions, but I don't have the spacing of the volume and power buttons. The placement of those may affect the case compatibility. I'll know for sure once my Tab S9 Ultra comes in, likely towards the end of next week. If the S8 Ultra case you're looking at can be returned, you can purchase it, try it, and if it doesn't work, return it.

Really interested in the tablet and if I'm able to pick one up I'll do so, however I'm really looking for the carrier versions just in case i wanna take it with me so I'll be able to use it but just like with the tab s8 i think I'll be stuck with the s9+ since Samsung doesn't give the base or the ultra models carrier configuration options and don't sell an unlock version either
Yeah, you're right, only the S9+ gets LTE this year. But if you want to use it while you're out of the home, you can just use a mobile hotspot on your phone and pull from your phone's data plan. That's what I do when I want to use my Tab S8 Ultra without access to Wifi. Unless you wanted to JUST take the tablet without a phone. In that case, yeah, you'd be stuck with the S9+.
This is my reason for not buying the Tab S9 ultra, I don't like the S9+ either. I travel outside of the country and I need the LTE version to use outside of the United States. I guess I will wait for the tab s10 ultra or the new iPad Pro.
The 5G Tab S9 Ultra is available in certain countries at least.

here is a wild one. I am typing from a tab 7+ keyboard to which all of the keys, functions and the track pad work's like normal on the Tab S9 I recieved today. Mind you there is space on the sides and you still need to buy a cover ie I bought a samsung cover but not a keyboard one due to being in a region where their keyboards are a bit different than my fingers memorized. Samsung hooked us up with galaxy pro earbuds if we bought this before the 6th instead of type covers. I mean a draw back of the smaller tablet is smaller keyboard attachment but if I ca pull off making this work I shall be super stoked about it. has anyone tested this with the S9+?

I'm torn between the 11-inch Tab S9 and the Tab S9+ (and Ultra)
I like the compact build of the regular Tab S9; but the bigger one seems fun to use. Help... 😓
It depends on what you're using it for. If you want to use it as a laptop replacement, I definitely recommend the Ultra since the keyboard will be more comfortable to use and the bigger screen will function more like a proper laptop. If you just want to browse the web and maybe play some games and watch a few movies on the couch... Or if you want something very portable to use for school, but still big enough to get real work done, the S9+ would be a good fit. If you want to bring this thing everywhere with you and care more about portability than screen real estate, then the S9 would be a good option.
Also, if you're not planning on getting the keyboard with the Ultra, don't get the Ultra. I only recommend the Ultra for people who want to use it like a laptop, often. 9 times out of 10 I'm using my Ultra like a laptop with the keyboard attached.
One more thought. The Tab S9+ seems to be a good sweet spot for both portability, comfort when holding it with one hand, and the ability to get some real work done when you need to.
Bottom line, it all depends on what you're looking to get out of the tablet. I hope that helps!
@@TechisodeTV Thank you so much for that input. After reading your comment, I finally pre-ordered the Tab S9+. It's the 512GB model (for the price of 256GB). You had a very great point, it's the perfect blend of huge screen size and portability. You're right about the Ultra. I saw one on display. I think it belongs to a keyboard dock and I don't have any plans or desire to use a keyboard. I appreciate the help. ♥️😉
11" for me. The rest are way too big unless you're sitting at a desk with a keyboard all the time.

'No One Noticed'? You literally repeated marketing copy of the announced, minor upgrades.
I like how every creator is advertising all the new features; however, nobody's talking about apps. Has Andoid FINALLY began making tablet optimized apps? Before I fork over $900+, I'd like to know if the apps (which these depend highly on) are optimized or what's the ratio or even the most popular apps at the very least. There's nothing more annoying than apps that are specifically for pho es and you have to maximize it and it looks odd on the tablet.
I hope the battery on the s9 + is gonna be better than the s8+, I got the s8+ but I'm not satisfied with the battery life
The processor should be more power efficient, adding a slight increase to battery life. But I'm not sure if it will be enough of an improvement to warrant the upgrade. If battery life is your only concern, I'd wait for some longer-term reviews to see how the battery life is in the real world. Then maybe buy it when Samsung does their Black Friday sales event in November. That event usually has very similar deals to these pre-order deals. I'll be posting about all the Black Friday deals the moment they go live in November. So if you have notifications turned on, you'll see the deals as soon as they go live 👍
it's one of those where someone said that s 8+ doesn't have dynamic refresh rate (i think) meaning it stays at 120hz all the time (instead of fluctuating when appropriate) unless you change it to 60hz which is why it's draining a lot of battery
Better get a thick rugged cover to protect it plastic rubber whatever hybrid on Amazon hopefully available just incaee. Ofc most protection plus with stand hulolder ring in middle & also bracket at top edge horizontal long strp not small type on it. Hopefully colors design cool pretty look you like to choose from daily use & with a carry on lanyard strap + one to switch from when go to restaurant like a rose gold or lilac lilac one or silver. Too bad my situation can't get into these deals. They should not make you have to buy a better pen. It should be the tablet one. They are such thieves. I think of tablet covers. I have my creative ideas of how things should be. Cases never for new devices that I ever heard of. It makes no sense or it does why wouldnt. Duh I have no tab to turn in. Also, I wish it was an 11. I hope I get that in the futute. though 9 is a lucky number too I hear. I love 3, 7,8,11 like 5 & combo of those #'s. The 2 was too as a kid once now this too.
I think there is also multi-touch capability not sure if this was in the S8 series?
Do you mean dragging an item with one finger and navigating around the tablet with another finger? Samsung mentioned that it's a new feature on the Fold 5, but it does make sense that they would bring that feature to the Tab S9 as well. I'll check for that when my Tab S9 comes in :)

Is that spen creator edition new this year? Those soft and hard nibs used to be included in the box. I can already feel Samsung starting to sell the spen separately.
It’s like the included spen is not the best spen, you have to purchase the best one. Just like their chargers you have to buy separately the fastest charger. Lame.
Yep, it'll be released later this year, but I doubt average users will want it. I think it'll only make a difference for artists or people who write a LOT on their tablets.
As far as I know, the creator edition just adds a texture and allows for a wider angle for drawing, but the sensitivity and soft tip are likely identical to the existing s pen. I personally never had a problem with the existing S Pen so I'd be surprised if many people "upgrade" to the creator edition. We'll see :)

I am an Apple man myself, and am VERY tied to the eco-system. (Work: Mac, work, iPhone, develop iOS apps). That said: My personal phone is an S23 Ultra, and for the first time I'm actually considering an Android tablet. This is due in no small part to DEX and the great review this thing is getting. The Ultra seems hella-big as I was previously about to buy an M2 iPad Pro 11". So I guess for now, my biggest debate is the size. I love the concept of a 14" tablet, but will the size stop me from taking it with me places? That's my debate.
What did you decide? I bought the TAB 9plus with 512GB, instead of an IPAD Pro 12'4, quite half the price... (with the pen).

If you use it outside often and need a brighter screen, or you need water proofing, or you want louder speakers, or if there are times where it isn't fast enough for you, or you want a better rear ultrawide camera, or if the tablet runs a bit hot for you sometimes, then it could be worth the upgrade to you. If none of the above are concerns for you, then you can skip this generation. If you do decide to upgrade, be sure to use the affiliate link in the pinned comment to get a larger discount when pre-ordering 👍
Also, it looks like the reversible S Pen charging feature is related to the S Pen, specifically, and you can buy just the S Pen if you want it to charge in either orientation and get dust and water resistance for the S Pen. But I'll confirm this once my Tab S9 comes in.

I read it has only 240 Hz PWM and its flickering with like 10-20% brightness.

I was excited to trade in my S8+ for the S9 Ultra tablet but once again Samsung disappointed me because there's no SIM card variant of the Ultra why? It was the same with the S8 ultra series last year. Not everyone wants just wi-fi tablet I'm on the go daily and I need to know I can get stuff done even without WiFi. I'm hoping that next year Samsung will make 5G/SIM card ultra tablet and not just the plus variant.
The Tab S9 dropped the rear ultra wide camera that was on the Tab S8. Very disappointing! Sticking with the Tab S8.

I'm glad you liked the video! But I haven't seen anyone talk about the reversible S Pen, the increased standard Tab S9 battery size (but no increase to the larger tabs), or the upgraded camera. Maybe I just didn't watch enough videos haha. Every video I saw just covered the IP68 rating, processor bump, a couple covered the vision booster feature, and only one video I saw mentioned the Creator Edition S Pen. Sorry I missed the videos you saw :)
