- In this series I will show how anyone can design and build a 3D Printed Widebody Kit! Here is episode 1 - using low cost (or free) photogrammetry software to acquire a digital 3D model of the car body.
Software used:
www.3dflow.net/3df-zephyr-free/
Alternative:

The photos I used can be found here:

If it's too much of a pain to download all 50 photos, I can provide a link to a zip file in dropbox, just message me and ask!

Awesome tutorial, i learned an insane amount watching this video. keep up the good work
A really useful video, please continue this series!!
super cool! I freaking love 3d printing. I have had the idea that it would look super cool to do this but with the whole fender panel and to create the "Low Poly" look over it, instead of trying to create a smooth surface. I dont have a cool enough car or a big enough printer though! Id suppose you could print the individual polygons out flat and bond together. they should take the 3d shape on naturally as they become a structure. ideas!
Very interesting, I'm an autobody technician that works on manly 70's and under type vehicles, I'm also a game developer lol so my modeling skills will work out great. I've never 3d printed anything but got a 3d printer yesterday so your videos will definitely help me out make my wide body for my 73 Nova :D
how is your project going?
YES YES YES YES YES Thank you so much for making this video
This is awesome, thx a lot!
This is awesome. Great tutorial! When are then next videos coming out?
I'm trying this with meshroom... Well the DOF thing with the tripod idea. Hand holding the camera with auto produced shallow DOF and motion blur. Although the reconstruction was cool. High resolution 20MP worked better than low resolution 2MP. But still produced bumpy looking surfaces.
great tutorial , I have a question regarding the windows would I have to cover them in masking tape ? so there are no refletions ?
very nice, I wished you had continued with your channel
Great stuff! Really inspired by this. But what's happened to part 2?
ep2??
Grest video, I can't find the second and third. Can you help me, thanks
Any advise on what camera and setup is good for beginners?
Use Instant Meshes to retopo the mesh.
Very cool. Do you think this might work well with a toy or model car? I'm in the video game industry and am wondering if scanning a model car might be good enough. Maybe 3D artists could use the high density mesh as a guide to wrap their own mesh around. Any thoughts?
Todd Wasson I specialize in car modeling. It would take more time to scan it and retopologize it than to use blueprints and model it. That and you wouldn’t have access to any car you want to model.
@@andrei1812 retopologize? Can't find it in the dictionary. Could you explain?
@@Anton-le7gd usually means to remesh in this case. Ultimately it is the layout of the control in sub d modeling.
Very interesting, thanks! One thing: try matching the volume level of the music with the rest of the video
Hi Buddy, i cannot found EP2? Did you stop this project?
TOP TIP: Turn the volume off and turn on subtitles!
Music!!! goddamn
