Whitney is the ultimate...."You're still my man" has always been a favorite of mine, along with "Hold me" from the first album. The way she brings life to a song.....and her beautiful voice. There are many hidden gems on all her albums. Her performing live is my favorite way to appreciate her music. She is truly, truly missed
Awesome video!! My sister forwarded this video to me letting me know ur back to Whitney! It’s so fun watching u react to an album I’ve heard a million times - just love that ur getting to know Whitney’s music catalog. Wait till u get to the live stuff! Ur audience is correct her live renditions are even better. If ur interested these are 5 of my fave performances (IMO): 1. Medley (I have nothing/I’m telling u) 2. All The Man I Need (welcome home hero’s concert) 3. One Moment in Time (Grammys) 4. A Song For You (welcome home hero’s) 5. Greatest Love Of All (Mohammad Ali 50th Birthday)
@ there really so many more I could’ve listed I just wanted to help get him started think most fans agree that her medley of I have nothing and I’m telling u is her best live performance!
Keep the Whitney albums reactions coming! FYI, there's a trilogy of Whitney's self-titled albums, with the last being *Just Whitney* , released in 2002.
My personal fav of hers. the power and depth of her voice was in its peak form during this time. The line in didn't we almost have it all where she drops, gets me every time.
The first song I ever heard and watched by Whitney was I wanna dance with somebody. I remember being memorized. I thought she was so pretty and cool and I wanted to be her! LOL I was 6 years old. Wow!
For the love of you is actually a cover of the Isley Brothers 1975 hit single and it was Whitney Houston's favorite song and the Isley Brothers actually wrote a song for Whitney in 2002 call one of those days for her fifth her studio album just Whitney (2002) and Ronald Isley said that Whitney Houston did for the love of you justice but if you don't know who the Isley Brothers is they most famous for their hit single that you might probably heard from 1959 on up like shout and this old heart of mines but through the years their music has been changing but if you remember toni Braxton samples one of their songs for her song why should I care which samples the guitar rift from the Isley Brothers
Love Will Save The Day is better live, even the version on Whitney’s new live album release this year(Live from Durban) you should check it out! Whitney as an artist her live performances she always makes each performance unique! There’s a reason why she’s called The Voice!
Cissy Houston is her mom she died in October of this year she was also the aunt of legendary Dion Warwick both her and Cissy was singers before Whitney was born and after Whitney was born Cissy was in the group name sweet inspiration which has a song name after the group which was not appropriated until the song was covered by other artists but Jacob I'm telling you if you listen to Cissy Houston singing in sweet inspiration the original you will hear nothing but Whitney in there Cissy Houston sounded like Whitney Houston on that song
Whitney didn't like "Where Do Broken Hearts Go", lol. Took so long to find the songs for this album...and heavy handed under the direction of Clive, she sang the damn thing anyway, lol.

For me, she had the best voice and a lot of charisma. She had some great singles, but most of her repertoire was very weak, so for me, she hasn't a perfect album. All of them are full of fillers, but the good songs are the greatest pop songs!
@quincytuggle2498 plus people was telling her that she was not r&b enough if you think I'm lying Look it up and years later the album appreciated by many artists
Love will save The Day is a throw away song. Love her voice but the belts in some songs sounds like she’s singing to him from behind the closet door, because she’s a psycho and holding him hostage!😂😂😂
Tbh if u like her albums but dislike her live. You dislike musicality and possibly have some kind of bias against her. Because her true musicality is shown in her live work.. she make the songs better and sings in ways where u just have to listen n vibe. However she always sticks to the melody and comes back to the tradition of the song. N to be quite honest never strays far away either... no way you like singing. Music. Instruments etc but don't recognize her greatness live. Your a hater. Her live work is what cemented her as a legend.
Oh no please ignore them! Any hardcore Whitney fan will tell u that’s what separates Whitney from other artist her live performances! They are right about her doin different versions cuz she personalized the songs and has a live rendition for each song where she works with her music producer to change the melodies. But that’s Whitney’s super power - her live vocals!! For all those that disagree go listen to ‘I have nothing/I’m telling u’ medley she did live better than any studio vocal she’s ever done!
What!!? U are out of ur mind. Go listen to A Song For U live or go listen to All The Man I Need live! I’ve never heard anyone not like her live, that’s crazy! She does change the melody of her songs but Jacob isn’t attached to hearing the song one way it’s all new to him. I strongly recommend her live stuff it’s the best!
