You might be a homeschooler if, when you see people kiss in a movie, you ask if the actors are married--IF your parents don't fast forward the part.
Exactly. That was like the most marked part of my childhood :P
Why would they do that?!
Petar Kahn~ Well, I must admit that I agree with you; but I also understand why people would think differently and respect that opinion.
Luckily my parents weren't quite THAT strict lol
Great Awakening Medi That was good.
you might be a homeschooler if you're watching this video and thinking yep that's totally me X)
Peter Travers haha cool i just got a chance to watch it now XD
XD yep. Most of those. In fact, I lived in Colorado Springs, CO. ;P
Joshua Morgan XD Haha nice ;P So you are close to Focus on the Family!! XD
Yep! Been there several times! My Uncle actually used to work there. XD Adele Zoe
Yep!
"If you've memorized the zip code for Colorado Springs Colorado." Me: "80995!" "If you just recited it, you might be a homeschooler." Me: ...
Omg yess
I love the adventures in odyssey reference!! Colorado Springs Colorado 80995 ;)
Or in Canada write to:
Box 9800, Vancouver BC, B6B4G3
I loved Adventures in Odyseey, but do not remember that...
Fun fact, 80995 is not Colorado Springs' zip code, it's specifically Focus On The Family's, since they get so much mail.
I recited it of course haha
I know!! :D I was close to typing it, too, but you typed it for us!
I have one, you might be a homeschooler if you fight with your sister over wether to watch blimey cow or Tim Hawkins
commander rex HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!
So many references!!! :D I love being homeschooled! Best decision of my life!
Indeed!!
I can second that!!!
I third that!!!
agree I
You might be a homeschooler if you have watched most if not all of the Veggie Tales movies. And know all the songs by heart. You are my cheese burger my lovely cheese burger all wait for you all wait for you.
+SheDragon Liontamer WE ARE THE PIRATES WHO DONT DO ANYTHING!
We just stay home and and lie around.
And if you ask us to do anything....
We'll just tell you We don't do anything.
my whole family breaks out into song when the hairbrush goes missing..
You might be a Homeschooler if you're re-watching all of the "You might be a Homeschooler" videos in 2019.
I was publicly schooled and most of this video is true about me;and I'm Black. o.O I'm very unique and I love it.Homeschooling is the future, the most effective, the most safe, the most efficient method of learning.Less distractions,no bullies,no detention,no peer pressure,no random contagious illness,no child left behind.Homeschooling Master Race. :)
YEEEES!! Oh my word, these 'You Might Be A Homeschooler If' videos are uncannily accurate!
After some very bad experiences with public school, my mom decided to have me try home schooling with an online class thing. It went horribly, and 6 weeks later, I was back at the public school she had pulled me out of. I decided to try an on-line class through a different website, and I absolutely loved it! I learned so much, and actually looked forward to coming home and doing that class.
My dad however has taken every opportunity to continue to teach me what he can. For example, when I was seven, a doctor I used to go to had a chalk board in the waiting room. While most kids would draw flowers, or a dog, or stick people, my dad taught me how to do basic algebra on it. That confused all the staff there, and gave them a good laugh, but it helped me, and I am thankful for it.
"If you still hang out at your co-op even though you graduated."
You totally nailed me with that one!! Haha
SOOOO TRUE. my family read the reviews for.....pooh bear before we went to see it.NO JOKE!! IM SERIOUS
Wow o.o
yep! :D
I'm sorry.
...I guess it's logical if they thought it would be bad ("Bad" as in "Twilight" or "The Last Airbender", not "bad" as in "MURDER, MURDER EVERY WHERE!") But Jeez isn't it rated PG?
lol....actually its just G. lol lol lol lol
#4 ...started a small business at age 16... I was like "YESSSSS! That's me with Zuciello Computer Support" Wow, I thought doing "you might be a Homeschooler" would be boring after 5 times but Blimey Cow knows how to do it right. ;)
LD AND TP. I DIED.
XD This is SO me...
But I suck at Scrabble. Miserably.
LD and TP yes, but DC Talk! I'm not ashamed, either.
Oh wait. That's the Newsboys. :P
Julia Burns XD
Colorado Springs, Colorado...
Ubbi Dubbi!
Thanks for putting a little bit of Speech and Debate humor in this! :)
You also might be a home-schooler if you get to stay until close to midnight to watch the new BlimeyCow Messy Mondays episode right when it comes out :3
You might be a homeschooler if new years eve is the only day you get to stay up to midnight and not every year.
Oh my gosh, you mentioned Ubba Dubba! :D Thabat ibis abawesobome!
YES IKR!
THAT ZOOM REFERENCE THOUGH. That is a memory I didn't know I had.
Ubit's Ubububi Dubububi, bubit ubI wubon't hubold ubit ubagubainst yubou. (=
Jordan Kettlewell Zoom! That's where that's from! I was racking my brain trying to remember lol.
Wasn't homeschooled, but remember that from when I was young lol
Aaron, I'm not a homeschooler, and I saw all of those lol. Except for Carmen Sandiego. And my little nephew (also not homeschooled) watches PBS when he gets home. Reminds me of me lol (Except I watched a lot of Fox Kids' shows like Digimon :D)
And my family isn't Christian at all. The Lord saved me at 18, but my entire family is lost.
"You might be a Homeschooler if your first job was selling eggs to your neighbors from your backyard chickens." YEAH!!!
I saw this, and immediately went "THERE'S A FIFTH ONE??!!!!!!!" and put it on my watch later playlist to watch after co-op.. And the WinterJam one was spot on.
My brain clicked and i said aloud the Zip code to Colorado springs colorado then paused the video lol'd and un paused and lol'd harder
... I confess.
You had me at Zoom.
My 7 year old homeschooler is now obsessed with your channel... Thank you because I couldn't handle another Stampy Vid (I like stampy but there is only so much one can handle).
1:57 I THOUGHT MY FAMILY WAS THE ONLY ONE. LIKE SERIOUSLY NO ONE ELSE HAS EVER HEARD OF IT. UNTIL NOW. MY LIFE IS COMPLETE.
WINTER JAAAMMMM!!! I love you ppl!
"And if you ever want to write to us, we'd love to hear from you! Our address is Adventures in Odyssey. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80995. Or in Canada write to Box 9800 Vancouver BC V6B4G3. And when you do ask how you can get a copy of today's episode! It's called..." I JUST DID ALL OF THAT FROM MEMORY. I'm a homeschooled college kid.
"If you know the zip code to Colorado Springs, Colorado..."
*In my mind*:"80995"
"If you just RECITED the zip code to Colorado Springs, Colorado..."
Me:"Aw, dangit!"
The library books on hold, the business by 16, and the zoom reference oh gosh !
80995 Colorado spring Colorado.... Totally home schooled. I also know the Vancouver one.... Thanks Odyssey!!
Honestly I've watched like 3 of these and I'm not homeschooled but so many of these either apply to me now or used to... Oops?
+AngelaTheWarrior As a homeschooled kid I now annoint you as an honorary homeschooled kid.
"You might be a homeschooler if you still refer to yourself as homeschooled even though you are in college." XD Yep.
I totally knew why the bloopers were so long when I heard Josh say that line. XD
If you're waiting for the next "you might be a homeschooler if..."
I've even memorized the Canada part (I'm not homeschooled)
"You might be a homeschooler if you know the zip code to Colorado Springs, Colorado" (In my head) "Oh yeah! It's 80995!" :D "You might be a homeschooler if you just recited the zip code to Colorado Springs, Colorado" I just died! xD
Here are some others that I've come up with:
You might be a homeschooler if...
when you try to type "Bilbo", you accidentally type "Bible".
your family isn't on time for church exactly twice a year. [Daylight savings time.]
when you see a book with "Harry Potter" on the cover from far away, you think it says "Holy Bible".
you actually know what a thimble is used for.
you can't picture your clothes washer on any setting except cold-cold, extra large.
grades 8 and 9 were the BEST years of your life.
you don't know whether to laugh or cry when you see that even your Christian online school is forced to use the word "grown-ups" instead of "parents".
you have memorized your library card number.
Wikipedia has gradually replaced your Dad as the ultimate source for reliable information.
for years your siblings (and possibly you too) thought that Justin Beiber was Justin Beaver.
approved workmen are NOT ashamed.
you've memorized an entire book of the Bible.
you've read the entire Chronicles of Narnia... twice.
you've read the Magician's Nephew more times than you can count.
everything counts as school somehow.
you dream about mathimatical equations. (No, seriously.)
you don't know how many times you've frantically tried to type "/gamemode 1" as fast as possible / you have gotten really good at typing "/gamemode 1" as fast as possible.
you know how to use semicolons properly / you use semicolons regularly.
you (really) don't know who Brad Pitt is. Or Katy Perry. Or Justin Timberlake.
you don't own a cellphone.
If you pointed out that this video is 5 minutes, 5 seconds, and number 5,you may be a homeschooler.
And number for was four minutes and four seconds.
WAIT! I was not homeschooled and I am still holding out hope that dcTalk will get back together. AND I go to WinterJam every year... I also know the ZIP code of CO Springs, CO... and I listened to Plus One. WHAT IS MY LIFE!!!???
a hollow lie :(
The thing is... All of your friends think your homeschooled...
Molly Hanson That's funny. I was, and those are the things I didn't know or do.
TheDebater94
*you're
Thank you. Sometimes my own little community seems so small. It's really nice to feel less alone in the world.
OK...the "keeping your books for your future children" is definitely ME! 😂
I'm watching a Messy Mondays on a Sunday night... What is this madness!
OMG!!! That DC Talk one is so (well I'm hoping for a reunion) me!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XD
OMGoos! Plugged in, Theme parks, selling eggs, winter jam! They're getting better and better!
I absolutely LOVE the Chronicles of Narnia!! It's my favorite book series!
If you LOVED the first 2 Roller Coaster Tycoon games, but the third made you cringe.
Sammmeee
can we get a sixth one?
Oh no. You didn't just do the ZOOM "ubba" reference. YOU DID NOT JUST DO THAT.
You might be a homeschooler if...when you moved to dorms, you made friends with all the other homeschoolers, and had a support group together...and you still feel a bond to homeschoolers 7 years after you graduated "being homeschooled."
"If you wonder why all the history material is so pro-federal-power"
Aahahahahaahaha
We voted for Rick Perry actually, but I think he still counts. ;)
Matthew Swanson Meh. Rick Perry is too statist for me, and I don't appreciate his Dominionist ties.
***** Right you are sir! Although I never said I always agreed with him. (Although I do think we need some solid Christians in leadership today!) But then again, the last time I checked, Mr. Perfect wasn't running. ;)
Matthew Swanson I really like Rand Paul. He's not perfect, but for a politician, he's pretty awesome.
ODYSSEY COLORADO SPRINGS, CO 80995!!! IN CANADA WRITE TO BOX 9800 VANCOUVER, BC V6B4G3!!!
...
...
...
...Yeah, I was homeschooled.
Erik Schwab Yeah I'm not the only one who knows this!
same dude
I heard the “If you know the zip code of Colorado Springs, Colorado”, recited it, and heard “If you just said the zip code of Colorado Springs, Colorado.” That was good!! 😂
"...Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80995! Or, in Canada write to: Box 9800, Vancouver, B.C. V6B 4G3. And don't forget to ask how you can get a copy of today's episode! It's called..."
And that, folks, was off the top of my head and I am proud to be an Odyssey homeschooler nerd. =)
it's still my job to hold the coupons...
Home Schooling ruined my life , now have no social life
Me too I hate it and can't get out of it.
It is probably your fault. Im homeschooled and I have plenty of public and private schooled friends. Not too many homeschoolers though. They are kinda weird IMO
gogglestv i have friends , just not like i used too, i got to make new friends lol
*blames homeschooling*
........ Uuuh, dude? Your social life is your responsibility, not your schools.
Same -_-
Shoot. I'm a homeschooler.
Those bloopers deserve a whole messy monday episode!!!
A DEBATE REFERENCE!!!!
Dude there were actually two I think, the colorado springs one and the TP vs. LD one
Christopher Cowherd The colorado springs one is an Adventures in Odyssey reference and focus on the family. but i would love more references....
Oh i thought it was a Stoa nats reference because they've had it there once or twice
that's funny and true but its also stupid
I love Blimey Cow, and I understand that they need to make a living, but this video is literally only 2 minutes of content and 3 minutes of ads and bloopers. It's getting kind of annoying. I'm sorry but I had to say it.
Try two and a half minutes of video, a minute of ads, and a minute and a half of bloopers. The bloopers are like the best part of this video!
Michael Wasson I subscribed to Blimey Cow because I appreciated the insightful and challenging messages they conveyed through humor and sarcasm. Bloopers aren't included in that, so to me, they are not the best part of the video, and I never watched them when they used to be just links at the end. I think the beauty of creating content on UA-cam is that you don't have the need for this over-edited, filler sort of content like TV and you can just convey your message simply. I will stay subscribed but I honestly wish MM would return to what it was about year ago.
I'm sorry too, but I have to agree. I feel as if their former videos (like the ones from 2012/2013) had a lot more stuff, and Jordan was more relaxed in front of the camera. I still really enjoy their stuff, like the hashtag activism video, or the viral video one. But you're not alone in what you're saying.
They're still great, and I know that they need to advertise. But oh well.
I'm kind of in the same boat. Too little content for the filler and ads. :/
I hear ya. Quality hasn't drastically dropped, but it's not up to snuff with what it used to be. Still good, though.
Guys... a debate joke just made it onto Messy Mondays.
I'm dying.
You might be a homeschooler if you thought you were alone in the world being the only homeschooler feeling this way until you found blimey cow
Colorado Springs, Colorado 80995
Yessss!!! Lol!
+Fiona Miller Oml, that address is forever in my brain.
My sister and I both quoted it, then the next part came...
+Emily Stanton same!!!!!!!!
lol
Lol, ok, what is the reference to Colorado Springs? I was born there, so I totally do know the zipcode. I guess I'm just not sure what the connection is with homeschooling? Unless it's a reference to "Focus on the Family."
My zipcode was 80918
You listen to Adventures in Odyssey so much you know the zip code by heart. :-D
talyn legler 80995
SimplyEm
And in Canada write to box 9800 Vancouver bc v6b4g3! Adventures in Odyssey rocks! :-D
talyn legler And when you write, ask how you can get a copy of today's episode!
EVERY TIME BLIMEY COW EVERYTIME! Everytime I watch these there are at least five things that I do! And you got me on the 08995, I said it! I said it! You're good.
If you just about cried when Moody Radio ended the Children's Radio Funhouse...
If the librarians at the local library know you by name...
If you geek out about Our Mutual Friend while everyone else is geeking out about Divergent...
You might be a homeschooler.
This is only if you're kinda a stereotypical homeschooler. I'm homeschooled and pretty much none of that is true for me....
Only about half for me the rest I'm totally confused but that also might be cuz we're (idk about you but definitely me) the stereo type that don't have many friends, go out much, or really have any conversations with non-homeschoolers. (Not by choice it just happens)
Wesley?
Amen
I'm a homeschooler and 1/3 of that applies. The homeschoolers they speak of are the introverted nerd and geek ones that are in protective christian families.
My mom was wise and I'm an introverted nerd and geek with a christian family that let me watch pg-13 rated movies when I was six and has me go to social extracurricular stuff. I should say had, because technically I'm in a part time charter school part time homeschool....
I'm home schooled and like 80% of that was accurate to me xD
none of these related to me in anyway haha... i guess this is only centered around U.S homeschoolers
Considering their from Tennessee they only know about US home schoolers so yes
well yeah, considering theyre Americans who got homeschooled in America. Their videos are based off of their experience as homeschoolers and experiences of homeschooled friends who are also in America
I don't listen to podcasts while I'm doing my homework.
I listen to Blimey Cow :)
Lol Zoom reference! Loved speaking ubi dubi!
Colorado Springs Colorado 80995
Minecraft!! Yeah I might be getting homeschooled for medical reasons my friends tell me it might be the end of my social life and I'm really worried also because I can't do anything about it so should I be concerned?
~Aqua
If you're plugged into a co-op, church, volunteer group, or basically any extracurricular activity--I think you'll be fine. People have ragged on me for being an "antisocial homeschooler", but I actually do more stuff outside of school than they do...flexibility is the bomb.
***** amen to that, friend!
Despite popular belief Home Schoolers are usually more socialized than public schoolers. Why? because they have to deal with going out actively to seek friendships in their neighborhood, have to start dealing with people from multiple age groups instead of specifically their own, and have sufficient free time on their hands to do the socializing they can when they can.
Homeschoolers are more socialized because our conversation skills are really good and we can talk to people of all age groups. A lot of public schoolers have shallow conversations and ignore anyone older than them. Not all, but generally. Plus there are co-ops and lots of things that you can do to hang out with friends. You can do more because you'll have more free time to do what you want. So go for it! You'll love it!
Wow I'm a homeschooler and I didn't know about any of these I feel so proud😏
"If you just recited the zip code to Colorado Springs, Colorado." HAHAHA!!!!
(This comment is not relevant what so ever)
Shrek is love.... Shrek.... is life...
Shrek is the beginning and end.....
Shrek is the Alpha and the Omega....
Shrek is love... Shrek is life...
May the mighty ogre lord, Shrek, bless you all
No.
wut.
***** what about the almighty ogre lord
True
it is funny that everybody wants to fuck shrek now but did u forgot spiderman??
I was never homeschooled but I enjoy watching these. My little sister and I went to winter jam for the first time last year with our homeschool friends and when she saw this video she's all "I'm turning into a homeschooler!!" :O
I always have books on hold. I've started a video by 16, I love homeschool convections, I laugh at those suckers who go to theme parks in the summer, I check pluged-in, I hope DC talk gets back together, I listen to podcasts during school. I only use smart phones for a phone. I was introduced as a homeschool friend. I took a road trip, I keep track of grocery coupons, I school at home!
That makes me, lets see, 12 out of 32 of these.
Throughout this video I was like "Yes, yes, yes, no, no, WHAT?!"
Homeschool conferences? Oh yes!!!!! I LOVE them, like CHAP is one of the best parts of the year!
"You might be a homeschooler if you just recited the address..." Aaahhhh! I feel so guilty! I'm also in college and still say I'm homeschooled...
Ubbi Dubbi!!! HAHAHA Oh my gosh, I forgot about so many of these things from home schooling.
I have a flip phone, and now im graduated and i still say i was homeschooled!!!!!!!!! LOVE YOU BLIMEY COW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"If Plus One was your NSync!" Haha classic!
You might be a homeschooler if you get reactions like, "How do you have friends?" or "You don't look like you'd be" or "So you get to stay in bed all day?" or "So like, do you know who X famous person is?" or "Wow, that must be SO MUCH FUN!" by simply saying what school you go to.
I had no idea what Josh was trying to say at that one point until Kelli tried it in the bloopers. XD My mom is a BEAST at whatever that is (the thing that's like the next level of pig Latin...grr, can't recall the name).
Loved the patrons at the end; great job! And Jordan, glad to see you're letting your hair go longer than usual before the next cut (seriously).
It almost sounds like Kelly is rapping in the bloopers! :)
Oh - and you totally got me with the Colorado Springs zip code! I'm not homeschooled - I'm the homeschool mom!
Bahahahahaha Zoom was literally my favorite show when I was homeschooled! The bloopers made me laugh so hard I cried!
The Winter Jam thing made me lol! Skillet and We As Human for life.
Jordan must be going as Napoleon Dynamite for Halloween. That hair though!
Homeschooled for entire life, never had any of these except the road trip.
As a proud ex-home-school student (now graduated) might I take a moment to say. I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!
Smoove Santana...that is just your homeschool experience. Ihave been homeschooled all my life and really enjoy it, as well as feeling that I've done better educationwise at home than I would have in school.
I'm sort of freaked out by how many of these apply to me despite the fact that I wasnt homeschooled....
Colorado Springs... Oh my gosh, AiO... Good times, good times...
Yeah, I still listen to my old recordings of it.
8-0-9-9-5 In Canada, write to: Box 9800 Vancouver, BC B6V 4G3. And don't forget to ask how you can get a copy of today's episode! It's called.....
Well that's all for today! Tune in next time for more Adventures in Odyssy!
I think this was the best one yet! :) I definitely saved my best clothes for co-op days lol
Loved the theme park one! That's so true, all activities planned when everyone else is in school! :)
DC TALK WILL REUNITE!!!!! I refuse to let the dream die.
oh my gosh I recited the Colorado Springs, Colorado zip code. OUT OF HABBIT
YES!!! Exactly what I did!
You totally got me on the Colorado Springs zip code. I literally paused it and recited it HAHAHA So good guys, keep it up
I'm not a homeschooler but I've played Apples to Apples and I recognized the Zoom reference. Yay, I feel special... kind of.
Watching the bloopers at the end, I actually got that weird gibberish one. XD Great job on this one guys!
