I work in the ER and everybody wears the Hoka. I tried on several pair and wasn't impressed. I thought they'd be so comfy they'd change my life 😥
Great review! How do these compare in width to the Inov8 that you held up ? It's the Terraultra G270, yeah?
Yes, it is! I would say they are about even. Both fit my slightly wider foot well. The Inov-8 took a bit more break in time but it conformed nicely.

Great video. 👍 . I’ve been flicking through UA-cam and reading articles and have even emailed an online shoe supplier. I’m finding it really difficult to get an answer on what trail shoes to get when you’re flat footed. There’s plenty of info regarding Road shoes and flat feet, but not trail shoes.
Im trying on the torrent 2 as I’m writing this but I do think it’s rather narrow. However, I’m not sure if maybe that’s a good thing for my flat feet. I’m also trying on the speedgoat 4 and I agree, they’re really uncomfortable. If you have any thoughts, I’d really appreciate a comment back.

Sorry for the delay, I was out of the office for a few weeks there out on adventure. I have a wider foot and the Torrent 2 broke in nicely. For road runners you have a lot of stability options for people that need added arch support, there's not as much of that in trail running shoes since the ground is unstable, so even adding some arch support doesn't always create the same effect since the ground may be uneven. I have flat feet as well, but do not pronate, so I may not be the best judge for you, but I'd try a few shoes, no drop, mid drop, and high drop to see what works best.
Isn’t it easier to get special insoles for flat feet? I don’t think brands make special shoes for that.
what is the equivalent for road running? the Cavu?
Luis, great question, more like the Mach 3 probably, the Cavu is a little more minimalist with its tonguless stretch-knit upper.
I found it to be too narrow ☹️
Has it broken in? Compared to v1 torrent?
@@runzization I didn't run in the V1. I ran about 40km in v2, the right forefoot was really hurting me.
That's interesting because I have a pretty wide foot, normally I am between a D and 2E, and I love the fit of the Torrent 2.
