- For our first ever visit exploring #Miami, #SouthFlorida in 5 days, we embark on a trip without planning a list of things to do, unlike our previous Travel Itinerary Challenge video series in Hawaii. On this travel adventure, we also search for key lime pies in #KeyWest and discover the #ManateeLagoon in West Palm Beach among other things that we try to eat, see and do.

For our first ever visit to the Miami and South Florida, we embarked on a 5 day spontaneous and impromptu trip without preparing a list of attractions, restaurants, and activities to see, eat and do.
In our years traveling together, we found the way we tend to travel is more akin to “power exploring” than “peaceful vacationing”, which often results in us trying to pack as many things into an itinerary that we can handle. And for our trips, we usually plan a rough itinerary or list of things we want to do, see, and eat at our destination.
Unlike our previous 2-week trip to 4 Hawaiian islands ( bit.ly/itinerarychallengehawaii ), for this trip to Miami we didn’t create a travel itinerary list of things to do. We wanted to chronicle our adventures visiting Miami and other locations in South Florida as part of our Travel Itinerary Challenge Series--even though we don’t have a predetermined itinerary--to share our experience doing, eating, and seeing a number of attractions in a set amount of time in hopes it might help others deciding to visit Miami for the first time or for a return visit.

Loved this video! I think my favorite part was seeing all of the different key lime pies that south Florida has to offer. This is great thank you! We’re also from NY & booked a spontaneous trip to Miami Beach and we leave in less than a week! We’re mainly going just to lay on the beach but this helped for some quick ideas of spots to hit up in the area. 🙂

Yes we did a lot of these things when we went! We stayed on Collins Ave at Ocean Reef and Midtown Creamery was just down the road! So good. I also recommend Il Pastiano and Sunny’s. But we went to Vizcaya as well and it was BEAUTIFUL!!

I'm from Miami and can say the best key lime pie according to my preference I buy from Publix. The other so called home made versions I think are too sweet and not as creamy.

My husband and I are originally from Memphis but now reside in NWArkanas. We have been to Miami a couple of times (mainly for a cruise) but we are going next month for about 6 days. Your video was perfect. Can’t wait to see these places and let you know how it went!!! P.S. we absolutely LOVE NYC!!! When we win the lottery, I’m moving to the Big 🍎!

U forget to mention Bayside, Houlover Park between Sunny Isles Beach and Bar Harbor, Hollywood Beach Ocean Walk( much much more safe than South Beach), Adventura Mall, Biscayne Bay.

What month did you all go in? I ask because of the jackets, jeans, and pull-overs I see in the videos. So I am assuming it was chilly in the month you all went.

I screamed too. Lol You’re not supposed to dip the meat in the yellow sauce. U add a few drops to the jerk sauce to make it spicy then u dip the meat in that. Hope she’s ok.

I love this blog!!! I am going to FL soon and have questions! When you went to little Havana, at the district area did you park in the mall? I saw on yelp the you can easily park in there for $3 for up to 3 hours. Also did you guys have trouble parking at all. I will be renting a vehicle my preferred method pf transportation. So was wondering places I can park when going to Wyndwood. Key west.. etc etc.. any input is appreciated
If I remember correctly, we parked behind a fast food place/restaurant and had no issues parking. Didn't try parking in the mall but there were plenty of options available so you shouldn't have any problem!

Where do you get the Salted Key Lime Pie?
This is in response to the Miami video. I'm actually trying to do the same thing as you guys I'm actually from Miami as well but I've been living between DC and Baltimore for like 6 years now. Anyways this video was shot on the Sony a7r however a friend of mine and myself are trying to shoot some more videos with Galaxy s22 ultra phones to see what we can come up with. Although they may not be as clear as sharp as a Sony camera cameras nowadays are just amazing in your pocket and we're trying to see what we can get out of it. There are so many videos online with iPhone etc but not too much with Samsung and Samsung right now is equal or better than iPhone depending on your preference when you're shooting where you stand etc and I think that Samsung doesn't get the love that it deserves. But anyways I'll be probably posting some more travel or food videos etc trying to get my channel off to a good start lately I've been doing shorts. But love your content and I have one for Bali I'll be posting as well

Honestly not too bad! We had to drive around alittle bit in Little Havana but there are also ample parking lots as well!
I was just at Wynwood Walls and it was $12 for a very small area that can be seen within 10 minutes. Definitely underwhelming :(
