Of all the OSTs, I really thinks it's the one who defines the most the characters in-universe. It's calm, but gloomy, like all those submariners that wake up after less than six hours of sleep in a bunk to climb in a iron casket where they spend most of their lives, fixing every little equipment failures or their partners until a crisis hits under the form of Europa's dangerous fauna that will do its best to bring this expedition to their doom. And this OST is the "it's going to forever be my life from now on."
The beauty of this song is that to each person it has a different meaning but they all share one common feature - continuity. Whether it's waking up after less than six hours of sleep, starting the engine of the submarine after an exhausting battle, counting the dead after storming the ruins and many other situations But does the game end? Does the planet explode? No, hundreds of similar events are happening across the oceans of Europa and they will continue happening as colonising this place was a mistake from the start. ..and it's beautiful, in a twisted way :)
@@Solidwolf021 Not only just an ocean, but a vast ocean under a thick layer of ice and rock! It would be swimming around in a deep and vast underground ocean in almost complete darkness, with nothing but the sound of rushing currents and the distant bellows of Massive abyssal creatures below you.

I tried Barotrauma over the free weekend it's got going on and I've gotta say, even though this game is so stressful it has absolutely changed my life. I am very suddenly fixated on it, now. This song in particular I think helped captivate me.
This tops em' all. Calm, hints of gloom, the tiniest bit of resolution. This is iconic in my mind mainly because a crew of good friends and I shut our traps and got to work, barely getting our sunken camel working again after a biome transition all while this was playing.
It's that one track that lets you distract from the cruel europa environment for a little moment, and enjoy something eerie like the eye of the storm amidst unending chaos and turmoil this game brings. It makes me feel truly relaxed and indifferent even in the toughest times, the worst situations the game tries to throw at me and the other crew, and yet we thrive. No matter the stakes, we stay resilient and keep on moving untill we die, because Europa has to try better to actually kill us
You finally arrive at an outpost after losing your diver crew and killing a spineling swarm to tell the coalition that there was something in those ruins. They put it off as your imagination, until they notice that some of your crew is missing. After that talk, they send out a submarine to explore those ruins, and you get some more missions, chat with the crew, and head off.

Its tradition to come back and listen to this for the peaceful feel.
This is what played after leaving a beacon station. The dugong was gone. All my friends were dead it seemed. I was alone.
The music is now nostalgic to when I first started playing Barotrauma. Good stuff.
Well, for me nostalgic is a Barotrauma Legacy aka beta Baro music
@@DrTuxedo I hated the music when I played legacy lol I like the new music so much better
