This is correct. The Yaber Pico T1 is only 960 × 540 resolution, but it supports a 1080p signal. So watching content on the projector won't even reach HD resolution. The Wimius Q2 has a smaller footprint than the Pico T1. Wimius have now released a Q2 pro, and a Wimius Q3, so you might want to check these out also. 🙂👍
The projector has 150 ANSI lumens and it's 480p native with 1080p support. If you're expecting it to look anything like what you see in this video you will be returning it. Not to mention the lag.
What browser do you recommend for this projector? It seems to have Chrome installed, but I do not see in the my app drawer 🤔 Can I uninstall any of the preloaded apps like plex, Disney, etc? Thanks. Good video by the way.
Hi I just checked this for you. Yes Google chrome is installed but your right it doesn't appear on my home screen either. I only can view it by looking in the app settings for some strange reason. Also it doesn't look like you can uninstall the apps, but you can disable them if you don't want them. Quite a few apps have now become incompatible or are not available. But there will be an updated version of this projector coming soon running android 11 so more apps should be available and compatible Hope this helps you. 🙂👍
Hi there, I didn't see this comment so I'm sorry for the late reply. Did you manage to get airplay working? There is 2 dedicated buttons at the top of the remote. 1 for mirracast, and 1 for airplay just underneath the power buttons. I don't have any apple iPhone or iPad devices in my home so I haven't tested the airplay function.

Thanks for your review. I've a question and I hope you could help me. I've tried to connect a console (Switch in this case) in order to test it. Everything is fine but the volume adjustment that seems to be unavailable. When you switch to HDMI it says that just BACK and HOME buttons are going to work. And so it is. It sets the volume of the Q2 to the max and there is no way to reduce it. If I go back to the main menu of the projector and reduce the volume and go back to HDMI signal nothing changes. I also cannot reduce the volume on Nintendo Switch itself. I hope there is a way. Please let me know. Thanks so much.
Hi there, 👋 I can't remember having this problem. Did you do the latest software update? The latest is UI_V20231014.092613. If you are running an older software please update it to the newest version and let me know if this solves anything. I will check mine again as soon as I find My mini HDMI cable, I can't seem to find mine at the moment. When I'm home I will check in order to be sure. I hope you will find that cable to test it out. Btw as I told before as soon as you change the input to HDMI it says something like "from now on the only working buttons are Back and Home" and doesn't mention volume buttons. :/
Hi there, I've just found the cable and tested this for you. And I have the exact same problem, only the back and home button works, I can't adjust the volume either as the volume keys don't work. This is clearly a Bug on the operating system that needs to be addressed. If you let Wimius know you have this problem, and that I've checked as well, and have the same issue. then It must be all devices with the current update. Hi just bought this, nice bit of kit. I am downloading an update now. 870.49mb its slow going. taking ages and had a few fails. not sure what the update includes but excited to find out. can't see anything online about the update either. maybe its just been released today.

I did do 1 update around 2 weeks ago and it did take a while you a right, it took around 5 mins to start back up after the upgrade I thought the update failed but it was just slow at installing and rebooting to the operating system. I appreciate you showing the controller which some reviews tend to glossover, the controller seemed more ergonomic and has a good selection of physical buttons. I noticed what appeared to be a "mouse icon" under the mute button, what does that do? also I watched the whole review and there was no mention of image tuning is it possible to adjust image settings like saturation, contrast or white balance?
Hi mate thanks for your comment 🙂👍 the mouse button brings up a curser on screen so you can select things on the android part it makes it a little easier. There is also a track pad on top of the projector as well so you can move the mouse around from the projector also 🙂 I did mention there was no colour options at 27.02. I'm not sure it's possible at the moment.. But they are bringing out a new line of these machines out in December with new chips inside which will allow for more colour options. 🙂👍

That's a very good question and a dilemma.. After speaking with Wimius they tell me they are releasing a new set of chips that goes inside the projector.. I'm not sure if they mean DLP Chips, or processing chips but certain improvements will be made over the current Q2 model. As right now you can't change any of the colour settings or sharpness level, contrast level, saturation, or hue etc. I was hoping a future update could add these features on the current model. But wimius told me they are adding colour settings on the next lot of Q2 projectors releasing in December. So maybe it's not possible on the current models. I was happy with the colour the Q2 was producing, but everybody views colours differently so some people would need these settings. Hope this helps you 🙂👍
No it doesn't come with peacock installed. Certain apps are not compatible with this device at the moment, as it's currently running an outdated android 7 operating system. I haven't tried peacock TV yet so I'm not sure on compatibility with this particular app yet. However, a new updated version of this projector should be realised in April which should be running on Android 11. So you might want to wait for this release for better compatibility with apps. One of the best reviews out there 🎉 Question. How do I close background running apps? On the phone there is usually a button that allows you to see all open pages and swipe them away. I accidentally did this on the projector yesterday, but I have no clue how to do it again. Is there any chance you could help? Thanks. Hi I had the exact same problem ha ha. I've spent over an hour trying to work this out for you lol I've finally figured this out! If you hold down the House button it will bring up the app list. Then just press down to close the apps. Hope this helps you 🙂👍
Yes I have experienced this myself. This could be for a multitude of reasons though. I've experienced this on all my projectors from time to time, it's not always down to the projector itself. But signals flying around your home and other interferences with WiFi and Bluetooth devices. It could also be the netflix app itself. Try plugging a firestick, a Roku, Chromecast, or any other updated smart device into the back of the hdmi port and see if you have the same problems. This way it might narrow down if it's a problem with the inbuilt operating system that's causing the problem. Hope this helps you 🙂👍

@ReviewingHub a hard case would have been good, even something like the protection casing for the phones. Can you recommend a power bank? I use one that claims it is 50 000 mah, 2A-out and 1A-out, it last only one hour when charging the projector

Yes this projector is capable of screen mirroring, and it's very easy to do 🙂 The manufacturer gives instructions on how to do this In the manual, and on many websites on the internet.. Hope this helps 🙂👍
I haven't tried tinkering with this yet.. I'm sure it can't be that hard, you just need to make sure the Wimius Ui is still on the machine after installing an updated version of Android. Hopefully Wimius will provide an over the air update in the future.. I'm sure someone will come up with a way to update it soon, if you find a way or discover a way keep me posted. 🙂👍
I spoke to the customer service and yes, they released a “pro” model with a more up to date version of Android but you literally have to buy the projector again 😰 they won’t update the older models over the air, I’m so disappointed. So, please, if anyone has some suggestions on how to update it manually or where to find this info I’m here 🙏

Hi, thanks for the lovely comment. Wimius releases an update to this model sometimes this month. I would recommend buying the new updated version. It has a new chip inside the projector along with an updated operating system that should have better app compatibility. A lot of apps have now become incompatible with this projector due to the old operating system. I'm in talks with Wimius, so I'm hoping they will send me the updated model so I can show the new improvements on my channel. If you drop Wimius an email, they should be able to tell you the new release date or point you in the right direction as to when and where to buy the new model. I hope this helps you 🙂.👍

Hi thanks for your comment 🙂 You can connect Mac to it no problem you just plug the mini HDMI cable into the side of the projector, and big HDMI end into the Mac this should work. For images you can put videos or images onto a USB memory stick and play them that way. Or you could use your Google drive to play images also. Or you can cast from your phone to the projector if images and videos are on your phone. And the projector should charge when it's plugged in mine does. Maybe you have a defective power adapter or something. But it should work. If not Try using the USB to DC cable it came with and plug the USB end into a phone charger adapter or a battery bank to charge the projector and see if the light comes on. Hope this helps 🙂👍

Thanks for your comment buddy really appreciate the feedback. 🙂👍 Reason why I didn't test over 80 inches is I live in a tiny flat and I've only got an 80 inch screen. However if you look at were I'm playing the Xbox the screen size goes over my screen which is roughly 90" inches Reason being the screen zoom I selected to fit my 80" screen for some reason doesn't carry over to HDMI so when you select HDMI the image gets bigger. I've told wimius about this so I'm sure they will fix this in an upcoming update. But you do notice individual pixels at 80" still perfectly watchable But it's worth mentioning. The projectors more than capable of projecting a 100" image, but Anything over 100" you will notice the Pixels considerably more being only 480p resolution. And I was projecting over 2 meters away when I was projecting an 80" image.. I was projecting at 2.6 meters away with my screen size reduced to fit my screen 🙂👍 Then during my image tests, I was moving the projector closer and closer to my screen to get the correct size screens I was replicating in the video. @ReviewingHub hey I got mine today and fully satisfied with it buddy, even though I still haven't worked out some of the most basic things, this serves to show that you or someone got to do a review for the super slow ones. But anyone can see it is a quality product 👏 1. I don't know how I managed to do the hotspot connection as I didn't even put all the digits and it suddenly connected Somewhere a prompt to enter ssid? 2. I don't know how to do the wifi connection 3. How to connect with my phone? 4. How to scroll using its touch screen? Haven't used yet the remote tomorrow when batteries are available. 5. USB flash drive: didn't see how to unplugg it or do I just take it out? 6. Can some pre-installed apps be deleted as to open up space? The Galery app didn't manage to reach it, is it to upload in the projector some photos, videos?
I'm just off to bed mate as it's 1am in the UK and I've got to be up early. But I will have a look tomo and try to answer most of your questions then 😊👍 But to question 5 yes there is no remove device for memory stick you just have to pull it out. 👍 And 6 I'm pretty sure you should be able to uninstall apps to create space. You just have to go into your android section and into your apps settings and delete from there. But will talk you through it tomo 😊👍
Questions. 1. not sure how it connected without entering the whole password ha ha 🤣 2. Go to the cog section far right at the bottom of the screen . This will bring up Networking/ Bluetooth/ language/ Projection /other/ date and time/ about us. Go to networking, click on it, Turn on WiFi switch at the top if it's not already on. Then you should see your WiFi network, click on it, and enter your WiFi password and it should connect, if the password is correct. Question 3. Go to eshare down the bottom and follow the instructions, I found not all phones it worked for maybe restrictions was in place on your phone and my phone when trying. You need to turn off all restrictions. Or go to my apps, and go to the WPS app, and allow access to photos, media, on your device, and then Scan the QR code on the screen to cast documents, images, videos etc to the screen. To screen cast. Question 4. On some screens unfortunately you can't scroll down, I ran into the same issue, so I use a Rii Bluetooth mini keyboard and mouse and this give me full operation of scroll and mouse function. You could download a 3rd party app that may help you with this, if you don't have a Bluetooth keyboard or mouse. But I haven't tried an app, a real Bluetooth keyboard and mouse is far better. 6 pre installed apps from the android OS no you can't delete them, but you can disable them. You might be able to download an app called ES file explorer and force delete them . But I haven't tried this. For apps you have installed yourself. Go to other settings, and application settingsz scroll down to the app you installed, then uninstall the app. Hope this helps 🙂👍 For some reason this comment was removed. I haven't tested this via just the input, but if this don't work than it has to be software related. Best to adjust the keystone whilst it's on the user interface first before switching to hdmi source. It's not ideal, but i guess it works this way. Hi there, many thanks for your reply! It’s from both. Using the built in speakers and also connecting speakers to the projector. This happens when playing Netflix etc from the built in android tv.
Oh Ok, sorry for late reply.. , yes I've also had this problem when using the main android system, the android system on the machine is outdated, and some apps don't work to well whilst streaming, hopefully there is an update coming soon. They did release a new version of the Q2 in December so I'm not sure if the newer models have had this issue, or if it's been fixed yet. I suggest, if you can? use an Amazon firestick, Google Chromecast, or Roku, or any other smart device for now, until a software update arrives. I know that's not the ideal solution, but I've had no problems with using 3rd party smart devices on a HDMI source with the audio . Hope this helps you 🙂👍
No it doesn't have 3D.. DLP stands for Digital Light Processing. DLP projectors beam light through a color wheel, reflection mirrors, then finally a lens It's a different technology to an LCD projector that all 🙂👍

Hi, thanks for your comment. No the resolution is 854 x 480p on the UK website. I've just looked on the Spain Amazon website and your right it says 720p so either that's a mistake or as I said in my review they have a new lot of wimius Q2 projectors coming out in December with a new set of chips, so maybe they upped the resolution to 720p. You will need to check with the manufacturer before purchasing if you have any doubts. But the version I reviewed was 480p so hope this helps 🙂👍

My impression, reading the specification on resolution or ANSI brightness on Amazon UK, on the manufacturer's website, on Amazon Spain, is that either they invent all this data, or they are very clumsy calling Q2, which should now be Q3 , Q4, etc. 🙂 Well, mine will arrive today

Can’t figure out how to get the AirPlay to work

@ReviewingHub a hard case would have been good, even something like the protection casing for the phones.
Can you recommend a power bank? I use one that claims it is 50 000 mah, 2A-out and 1A-out, it last only one hour when charging the projector

A lot of sellers lie about the battery capacity but Anker are usually pretty good. 🙂👍

Yes this projector is capable of screen mirroring, and it's very easy to do 🙂

Hello. Has anybody found out if it is possible to upgrade from Android TV 7 to a later version? Thank you.
I haven't tried tinkering with this yet.. I'm sure it can't be that hard, you just need to make sure the Wimius Ui is still on the machine after installing an updated version of Android.
Hopefully Wimius will provide an over the air update in the future..
I'm sure someone will come up with a way to update it soon, if you find a way or discover a way keep me posted. 🙂👍
I spoke to the customer service and yes, they released a “pro” model with a more up to date version of Android but you literally have to buy the projector again 😰 they won’t update the older models over the air, I’m so disappointed. So, please, if anyone has some suggestions on how to update it manually or where to find this info I’m here 🙏

The P61 has better image quality because it's 720p whereas the Q2 is only 480p

Wimius releases an update to this model sometimes this month. I would recommend buying the new updated version.
It has a new chip inside the projector along with an updated operating system that should have better app compatibility.
A lot of apps have now become incompatible with this projector due to the old operating system.
I'm in talks with Wimius, so I'm hoping they will send me the updated model so I can show the new improvements on my channel.
If you drop Wimius an email, they should be able to tell you the new release date or point you in the right direction as to when and where to buy the new model.

You can connect Mac to it no problem you just plug the mini HDMI cable into the side of the projector, and big HDMI end into the Mac this should work.
For images you can put videos or images onto a USB memory stick and play them that way.
Or you could use your Google drive to play images also.
Or you can cast from your phone to the projector if images and videos are on your phone.
And the projector should charge when it's plugged in mine does.
Maybe you have a defective power adapter or something. But it should work.
If not Try using the USB to DC cable it came with and plug the USB end into a phone charger adapter or a battery bank to charge the projector and see if the light comes on.

Reason why I didn't test over 80 inches is I live in a tiny flat and I've only got an 80 inch screen.
However if you look at were I'm playing the Xbox the screen size goes over my screen which is roughly 90" inches
Reason being the screen zoom I selected to fit my 80" screen for some reason doesn't carry over to HDMI so when you select HDMI the image gets bigger.
I've told wimius about this so I'm sure they will fix this in an upcoming update.
But you do notice individual pixels at 80" still perfectly watchable
But it's worth mentioning.
The projectors more than capable of projecting a 100" image, but Anything over 100" you will notice the Pixels considerably more being only 480p resolution.
And I was projecting over 2 meters away when I was projecting an 80" image..
I was projecting at 2.6 meters away with my screen size reduced to fit my screen 🙂👍
Then during my image tests, I was moving the projector closer and closer to my screen to get the correct size screens I was replicating in the video.

@ReviewingHub hey I got mine today and fully satisfied with it buddy, even though I still haven't worked out some of the most basic things, this serves to show that you or someone got to do a review for the super slow ones.
But anyone can see it is a quality product 👏
1. I don't know how I managed to do the hotspot connection as I didn't even put all the digits and it suddenly connected
Somewhere a prompt to enter ssid?
2. I don't know how to do the wifi connection
3. How to connect with my phone?
4. How to scroll using its touch screen? Haven't used yet the remote tomorrow when batteries are available.
5. USB flash drive: didn't see how to unplugg it or do I just take it out?
6. Can some pre-installed apps be deleted as to open up space? The Galery app didn't manage to reach it, is it to upload in the projector some photos, videos?
I'm just off to bed mate as it's 1am in the UK and I've got to be up early.
But I will have a look tomo and try to answer most of your questions then 😊👍
But to question 5 yes there is no remove device for memory stick you just have to pull it out. 👍
And 6 I'm pretty sure you should be able to uninstall apps to create space.
You just have to go into your android section and into your apps settings and delete from there.

Questions.
1. not sure how it connected without entering the whole password ha ha 🤣
2. Go to the cog section far right at the bottom of the screen .
This will bring up Networking/ Bluetooth/ language/ Projection /other/ date and time/ about us.
Go to networking, click on it, Turn on WiFi switch at the top if it's not already on.
Then you should see your WiFi network, click on it, and enter your WiFi password and it should connect, if the password is correct.
Question 3.
Go to eshare down the bottom and follow the instructions, I found not all phones it worked for maybe restrictions was in place on your phone and my phone when trying.
You need to turn off all restrictions.
Or go to my apps, and go to the WPS app, and allow access to photos, media, on your device, and then Scan the QR code on the screen to cast documents, images, videos etc to the screen. To screen cast.
Question 4.
On some screens unfortunately you can't scroll down, I ran into the same issue, so I use a Rii Bluetooth mini keyboard and mouse and this give me full operation of scroll and mouse function.
You could download a 3rd party app that may help you with this, if you don't have a Bluetooth keyboard or mouse.
But I haven't tried an app, a real Bluetooth keyboard and mouse is far better.
6 pre installed apps from the android OS no you can't delete them, but you can disable them.
You might be able to download an app called ES file explorer and force delete them .
But I haven't tried this.
For apps you have installed yourself.
Go to other settings, and application settingsz scroll down to the app you installed, then uninstall the app.

Why keystone dont work when you use input?
I haven't tested this via just the input, but if this don't work than it has to be software related.
Best to adjust the keystone whilst it's on the user interface first before switching to hdmi source.
It's not ideal, but i guess it works this way.

Hi I can't say I've experienced this problem, is it lagging from the projectors built-in speakers sound? Or when you have the projector connected to another Bluetooth device?
Hi there, many thanks for your reply! It’s from both. Using the built in speakers and also connecting speakers to the projector. This happens when playing Netflix etc from the built in android tv.
Oh Ok, sorry for late reply.. , yes I've also had this problem when using the main android system, the android system on the machine is outdated, and some apps don't work to well whilst streaming, hopefully there is an update coming soon.
They did release a new version of the Q2 in December so I'm not sure if the newer models have had this issue, or if it's been fixed yet.
I suggest, if you can? use an Amazon firestick, Google Chromecast, or Roku, or any other smart device for now, until a software update arrives.
I know that's not the ideal solution, but I've had no problems with using 3rd party smart devices on a HDMI source with the audio .

No it doesn't have 3D..
DLP stands for Digital Light Processing. DLP projectors beam light through a color wheel, reflection mirrors, then finally a lens

Hi, thanks for your comment. No the resolution is 854 x 480p on the UK website.
I've just looked on the Spain Amazon website and your right it says 720p so either that's a mistake or as I said in my review they have a new lot of wimius Q2 projectors coming out in December with a new set of chips, so maybe they upped the resolution to 720p.
You will need to check with the manufacturer before purchasing if you have any doubts.
But the version I reviewed was 480p so hope this helps 🙂👍

@@davidcopelandlightartist7432 I contacted the Amazon Spain seller, and he replied that the Q2 is indeed updated in batches in different countries, and that in the case of Spain it is 720p now.
My impression, reading the specification on resolution or ANSI brightness on Amazon UK, on the manufacturer's website, on Amazon Spain, is that either they invent all this data, or they are very clumsy calling Q2, which should now be Q3 , Q4, etc. 🙂
