SIR! Thank you so much for this in-depth review! Most reviews were focused on connectivity and sound quality, and I found pitiful little info on the video quality itself. This is now $300, so I'm about to bite the bullet!
I see these kind of projectors and wonder if they are good or junk. I appreciate the review that lays out points to consider before buying. I like the content and liked the video!
I have this projector and I love it. Easily punches above it's price point given its quality features. Nice review. I don't believe the calibration link is working yet. Hope to try your settings and see an even better display of color accuracy.
Hieeee. The calibrations settings page still isn't found. Are you able to reload it for us please? This video was super informative and the reason I bought this projector.
I have the projector for over 5 months now and since we got it, we use it almost every night for "movie night". Of course, the image quality does not compare with the 4k tv we have, but even so, being able to project on a 100" anti-light screen, makes a big difference (the tv is 65") . I would like to see the calibration file you are referring to, but the link does not work. By any chance, can you reupload it? Thanks and great review.
Nice vid! I’m curious as to how you got your calibrations o tried to follow yours but my projector doesn’t allow me to change saturation or brightness I can only change the colors
great video - thx - i see in comment below your recco the pro if the extra $200 is not a prob - what about sound? Do you know if it's the same speaker system? Also, have you seen (or heard) the Epson EpiqVision with Yamaha speakers? I'm more into sound that all the colors personally. Thx again!

Great video! How would u compare it to the Formovie S5? Really in doubt between the two, specifically because I have some 3D blu rays and only Mogo can play 3D. But the S5 seems to have much more brightness, contrast and definition. If price is not a problem, which would you choose?
First of all, both companies are very good. I haven’t personally seen or tested the Formovie S5, so I can’t speak to that. However, what I can say is the Xgimi is the best color I have tested theater. And that’s very high praise. So I would wholeheartedly endorse the Xgimi. If you’re concerned about definition, I would just go with the pro model.

@@Toid Thanks for the reply. I didn't even know there was a Mogo 2 not Pro! The one i've been seeing is the Pro version. I checked both in Ali and the price is practically the same. Couldn't discover the difference between them. Another downsize is the lack of MEMC. But the 3D capability is really attractive!
@ check the link in my description. Not the Mogo Pro, that’s last years model. You would want the Mogo Pro 2. I have a direct link in the description of the video.
I haven’t personally seen the pro, but all the software is the same and I would assume similar color accuracy. So the main benefit is you get a higher pixel count with the pro. I would buy the pro if I was going to use it as a projector in my bedroom, theater, etc.. For just portability and throwing some thing up quick the non-pro is fine. But if you plan to get a lot of use out of it, I would spring the extra 200 for the pro.
Just got this as a Christmas present today, I had a hard time believing it was actually 720p because the image was so sharp and good looking, probably the best 720p image I've ever seen.
Hi, I appreciate your review! I just bought this projector and want to change the image settings to get your results. Sadly, the link you posted to another comment isn’t working anymore. Could you be so kind and post the settings again? Thanks in advance!
That’s a great question. I don’t have any experience with a formovie s5, so I couldn’t say. I do like that it’s a laser projector. But my guess is the xgimi would have more colors since the market that. I would assume the formovie would market it if they did. Either way, at least you’re going with a brand that is known. That usually leads to better quality. I’m sure you’ll love whichever one you buy.
Can't find the calibration setting using the link in the description. Btw, nice video and nice review. I bought the mogo 2 because of this review and i love it!
Does Android TV allow you to download movies from streaming services like Netflix, Prime, Disney to a USB flash drive if connected (offline movies). So if your staying somewhere with no signal movies from streaming services can be pre-downloaded. YEs the UK doesn't have complete 4/5G coverage secondly if the remote is lost can an app be downloaded and synchronised to the projector so you can control from your mobile, I know Anker Nebular Capsule does.
The amount of information was extremely information. So much that so that I intend to put this projector on my thing to by list. "This only have 720p", is this the downfall found in the unit?
That's a good idea. I haven't personally used the Freestyle, but Xgimi is being known for their color correctness and it is really showing. I am really enjoying all their new projectors.
Sorry. That is why I measure the projector and give you data so you can make a decision if you want to buy it. You did have to trust the video, but hopefully the empirical data can help.
After almost a month of searching I finally stumbled across this projector 🙏😎👍📽️❤️ for those of you want 3D. After all my searching this is the most affordable 3D projector on the market! Nothing else is cheaper if you what a 3D projector! And will work with 3D Blu-ray players!
The #1 most important thing about any projector is the ANSI lumen. Not lumen but ANSI lumen. with out the ANSI manufatures can put a 1,000,000 lumens and it doesn't matter becuase lumen is subjective and ANSI lumen is a standardized measurement. If that is NOT an advertised feature you can be sure it's very dim and not even competitive in its class. That means you can NOT see the image unless it is very dark or a completely dark room. That's Just Not the case in the real world. So any other selling point is worthless if you can't see the picture. ============================================================================================== "reach's under the table" let's see what is this thing was... my 2 year old WANBO T2 Max. That's what I paid 200 bucks for 250 ANSI Lumen brightness its native resolution is 1920 x 1080. That it done. Color and color tuning can be done on a labtop. The idea that turning some color settings up and down is now suddenly worth more than double the value of the hardware is at best a joke, and at worst a scam.
I appreciate the comment. Unfortunately it’s a little misinformed. ANSI lumens is a good indicator of how well a projector might do in direct light environments. However, saying things like it is the most important spec on a projector just isn’t true. For one that spec is tested at its highest output, but not at a calibrated output. Meaning that a lot of projectors can get a very very bright image. If you don’t care about picture quality. For example, the Wimius K1 that I reviewed is by far the brightest budget projector I’ve reviewed. Having said that, it is also the absolute worst picture quality that I’ve ever reviewed. With budget projectors you really don’t get a lot of settings to really calibrate the image. So with these budget projectors, that go for those very, very bright images. You usually get a blue hue to everything and over saturated colors. This means that the colors start to smooshed together, and although they are very bright, you lose a lot of detail that was in the image originally. Now, when you calibrate a projector for better picture quality, you’re actually going to lose a lot of those Lumens. So you really want to look at the calibrated lumens that you receive not the advertise spec, which is really just a marketing gimmick. With a budget projectors you typically have the choice of going with a brighter projector that doesn’t give you a very good picture quality or one that gives you a better picture quality, but may not be as bright. Really the choice is going to be up to you and what you want to use it for. If you were are looking for using a projector for use in daylight or with lights on then maybe ANSI lumens is more important to you. If you’re looking for color accuracy and color reproduction, then that might be less important to you. If you’re looking for both, you’re probably not looking at a budget projector but looking for much more expensive one like my JVC DILA or a new laser ultra short throw projector with a screen designed to reject ambient light.
@@Toid You seem to have a lot to say on the subject and I might need a couple of hours to unpack that. Looking forward to it soon! As I need to go to bed!
