- The Greek orange filo cake is one of the most famous Greek desserts. The dessert is also known as Portokalopita.
А few months ago I was on holiday in Greece. I tried this juicy, great and tasty greek orange filo cake. I fell in love with it. Here's the recipe.

Ingredients for 8 servings:
For the cake:
400 g sheets filo pastry
4 eggs
180 g sugar
1 orange
Zest of 2 oranges
250 g yogurt
250 ml sunflower oil
1 tsp vanilla sugar
2 tsp baking powder
For the syrup:
250 g sugar
350 ml water
2 oranges

I had this cake for the first time a few years ago when I visited Athens. It was at the cafe of the National Archeological Museum and I remember sitting near the garden and having this and enjoying it completely. Thank you for posting this recipe, now I know how to recreate that wonderful memory!

In the category better late then never i finally got around making this, it was very nice we all enjoyed it.
Had to leave it in the oven a little longer. just use the toothpick test to verify doneness and all will be fine.
