  • It still snowing! Can you have too much of a good thing? I don't think so. Nevertheless, it won't be around much longer because next week's forecast is for temperatures between 40 and 50 degrees.
The snow needs to melt a little more before we move the small cabin out to the edge of the lake. In the meantime, we have turned our attention on the old shop. This week we made some good progress on the interior. There is a lot of work yet to do, but the we are excited about the nice space we are creating. The shop will be the hub of this project. Many things that we need will be built in there.
Thank you all so much for your wonderful support of our channel. We love and appreciate our UA-cam community more than we can say.
Oh, and also, we have set up a post office box for anyone who would like to communicate with us through that method. Our address is:
    This Is My Alaska

I've worked 110 hours in two weeks, and this video reminded me that while it sucks, I'm not the only working hard in the world. Although I think I'd rather be working where you are right now!

Love how Stella went into protective mode against the moose, it was so funny, that's the most vocal I've heard her. Another great video as well. You two really are super hard workers.

Good afternoon Diane. Stella has had a few run-ins with moose and they have scared her. She does not like them very much. The moose could not hear her of course, she was just grumbling to Tanya and me.

Please keep us updated as we will keep you in prayer each and every day. Thank you, Gale and Tanya, for letting us know about Wayne's need. Those potatoes and onions in the cast iron skillet looked so good. I could almost smell them all the way here in the mountains of southwest Virginia..lol. Hope ya'll have a great weekend. God bless!

I used to be able to watch these videos first thing in the morning in my cubicle. I used to be a school administrator. I am now a tile contractor and so I don’t get to watch until the evening. Total career switch. Watching these videos, in part, have encouraged me to seek more in my life. I was presented with circumstances that I had to make a change, a change I wouldn’t have had the guts to do on my own. I now love what I do, remodeling bathrooms and making spaces look nicer. Thanks for the inspiration, I’ve never done so much living. God is good.

Good evening friend. We loved this comment so much. Thank you for sharing you journey with us. I love the trades so much. I like laying down at the end of a hard day and feeling the ache of tired muscles. I would not trade it. I too have spent almost 20 years working for the education department for the State of Alaska. You understand now why I love getting out of dodge on the weekends. Peace

Dear friends, from a far end, Argentina. I dare to express myself from my precarious English. Your videos are a song to life, to the hope and joy of a good Christian. The one to make typical of the pioneer, the one who from his lineage and/or Saxon essence, conquered, through sacrifices, a better life in wild lands. Believe me then, my most sincere wishes of happiness and good for you. God keep your lives. Ah! Regards to your inseparable and faithful Stella, her presence is wonderful. 🖐️

Your participation in the videos has added a whole new level of enjoyment for me. Boy that fellas comment on “like Christmas morning each time” really says it. Made me tear up.. not unusual for me anyway.....
been following you for quite awhile now and have been wondering what the end goal is with both the cabin you moved to the lakeside and the shop you are refurbing. Was aghast at the trusses in the section you are strengthening!!! 5plus feet of snow and though it curved it didn’t collapse ..... 1x4’s?? Whoever built it must have been from Phoenix...... love you guys..... We’ve only been married 5 years at 70 and 80 yrs old - my wife had a stroke 2 years after we married.... she is the sweetest girl I’ve ever met. Her memories are less than 2-3 min now but she remains very sweet. We watch and enjoy your videos every week. Keep up the good work you rogue cowboys!!
I lost count of how many cabins you’ve built or worked on....... a man living the dream and seem to know all the trades.... love it!
Tim and Claudeen in Eureka, CA. Both of us have been to Kodak in the 70’s in the Coast Guard and out in the Pribilofs and Adak etc. Loved Alaska times.... Shalom. (Mouse droppings ARE yucky......)

I'm in Poland for a week on speaking duties - it is an annual event for around 800 leaders and pastors across Europe. We missed a couple of years because of Covid but we are back to face to face encounters. Technology is such a blessing but there is nothing like the real experience of speaking face to face in someone's physical proximity. You guys nearly accomplish the wonderful experience of actual human contact with your weekly videos, The homeliness of your relationship together and the warmth of your affection for Drox, and even the canine of the family, but especially the thanks and care in your round up. I'll pray for Brian's wife - my first wife died of Sarcoma cancer after 31 years marriage and although I remarried after 6 years of being on my own - the sense of loss I felt was indescribable in 2012. Thank you for giving a shout out for people of prayer. It's 25o C here and I have meetings to go to but you have drawn me in again to a very special and humanly warm circle - and I just wouldn't miss your videos. Thanks again - to 'Wild Bill Gale' and Mouse dropping Tanya and Calamity Stella.

So many years ago now I cannot quite recall where exactly it was, but was great.

Good evening Jewel. I am not sure I would survive the 90's! That is way too hot for me. My blood is too thick for that sort of heat. We would love to see you up here if you ever make that escape. In the meantime, God willing, we will continue to share our weekends with you here on UA-cam.

Great seeing you get the glulam in place with little problem. The workshop is going to be a comfortable place to work out of as the project continues. I'm looking forwards to seeing the rafters go into place.

Hello Richard. Yes, it slipped right in there. I checked both ends with a laser level and it is 1/16th of an inch difference. Pretty happy with that. We will start setting those rafters next week.

Great job Gale! Tanya and Stella helping You👍 Amazing work ethic you two have. I’m so happy your wife has been with you, helping! Burgers looked very good👍 Quite the dirty job fixing your ceiling. Price of lumber around Manitoba has gone up again. Crazy! Stay safe! Pace yourself. 👍B Deacon Manitoba Canada 🇨🇦

Good evening Barry. Yes, it is a dirty old attic. Forty years of mice up there. They are all gone now though. The price of lumber is super high here as well. Oh well, life goes on. Peace

Wow! That sounded horrible. I have broken ribs before, very painful. Never had a collapsed lung. Glad to hear you got adequate care and are healing.

Hello Ann. It was a tumble for sure. But it helped us learn how to better prepare for handling emergencies out here. Experience is a great teacher
