Absolutely outstanding job my fellow filming locations hunters!
👏Standing Ovation..
I’m standing and clapping 🤣
Sorry about your misfortune w your footage and camera, that sucks.
However, you still managed to produce a location masterpiece. 👏
Thank you! Means a lot coming from you, Nick! We need to do a video together soon!
@@GoingtotheMovies Just a matter of time!
bravo! a great treat for a great classic. Well done on the video editing.
Thank you, Herve! Maybe we will run into each other one day during our expeditions 😉
How does this only have 3K views? This is an iconic filming location video. You do an amazing job and its not the same old shooting location video done by everyone else.
They had a terrific time of acting with Andre the giant in this film.
Thank you for this! this is mine and my wife’s favorite movie of all time! i actually took her to some of these places and I even proposed to her during that trip 6 years ago. awesome video.
That is incredible! Hope we helped bring back some great memories!
Still love this movie and the views are just beautiful! Great job guys! Thank you!
Thanks, Jana! Glad you liked it!
I just started found and started binge watching Princess Bride clips 2 days ago and found this nice timing!
So many classic scenes!
This has brought me so much joy. Just discovered you channel and I love it
Thanks, Son of Hans! That means a lot. Hope you enjoy the videos!
On another note..man Ireland 🇮🇪 is so damn breathtaking 😢I live in a big city so seeing all that greenery gives me such a longing for a change.. I was almost expecting the lads from Piggly Winks to come rolling down some of those hills in a cart 😅
Great video appreciate it ✌🏽
That super sucks about your gear being stolen. Glad you salvaged the trip and got some good shots. Thanks for these . I enjoy your channel.
All good! I'm just glad we were able to complete this video and I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I was worried the footage wouldn't be as good as the first run, but it seems people are enjoying it. Thank you, Scott!
This was amazingly done!!!! Thanks for all your hard work. This should seriously have thousands of views.
Thanks, Jay! We LOVED making this one and I already want to go back to the UK!
Excellent production keep ot going. This deserves far more views.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks, Ryan!
Never seen the filming locations to this film before excellent job i literally live 20 mins or so from matlock never realised it was filmed there.
Thank you, David! That reminds me: someone walked past us at Buttercup's Farm and asked if we were bird watching. When we told him why we were there, he said he'd been walking that path for decades and never knew it was in The Princess Bride!
@@GoingtotheMovies Alot of people don't know it would seem lol another fun fact for you about 10min drive from Bakewell at haddon hall is Dalton quarry at stoney Middleton and they have just filmed the train crash scene for the upcoming movie mission impossible 7 very recently earlier this year.
This video is crazy !
THIS IS SO AMAZING!!! You guys got the best shots, had to watch this a couple times, so pleasing to the eyes...you captured it all in the best way!! INCREDIBLE is the only word I have for it. Highly impressed, so sorry it took me so long to get to it. Blew my mind!!!!
Thanks, man!! Got another big one coming soon!
@@GoingtotheMovies can't wait!!
Epic video production. Good work!
Thanks, Deaky’s Skits. Glad you liked it! 🔥
Amazing job. Keep up the great work! And bonus points for The Cars shirt.
Thanks man! Hope we run into each other some day!
This is a 90s kids dream movie so glad u doing this one
It was a blast!
I'm not sure if anyone's ever mentioned this, but the scene where Vizzini, Fezzik, and Inigo first kidnap Buttercup is the same place where they come out of the Fire Swamp. Look at the two rows of trees just ahead, and it's the same place.
Great video! Thanks!
Hey guys, I love these sort of “then and now” videos and since I found your channel last year, yours are definitely the most well done and absolutely my favorite. You’re criminally under-subscribed right now and I’m sure they’ll start rolling in soon!
Thank you for the continued support! I think we are still relatively new and can’t post as consistently these days, but either way we’re gonna keep posting locations videos!
This is great. I love how you overlayed the movie scenes onto the current shots. Well done!
Thank you, Scott! Glad you liked it!
All the research job to find the perfect scenes and locations… Insane! I watched this film pretty recently and what made me love it are the gorgeous landscapes 😍
They are awesome! It’s a perfect example of how to do a lower budget movie on an epic scale
This was great. Im really happy you got to take the trip. Thank you for sharing. Sorry about the camera thief.
There was one day of sulking, but nothing could have ruined this trip for us. Unforgettable! Thanks for checking it out, icthree!
Dude you’re amazing at this
Thank you, sir! 🙏
Inconceivable!!! Beautifully done!!! I hope you had fun storming the castle and that Cary Elwes sees this!!!
Haha, thank you! That would be really cool!
I worked with the location projectionists, Paul Gregory and Phil Morley at AMC Crystal peaks near Sheffield back in 1988, great guys and been a very long time since I was in their company, happy days .
Thank you. Very enjoyable and I'm very sorry to hear you suffered theft in London.
I've visited so many stately homes and castles in the UK and it is strange to think many stand the same for hundreds of years.
The movie also has a sort of happy memory of my own childhood. I mean that movies are never the same as the ones we see as kids. They seem like a part of our own lives.
Anyway, fantastic work. Truly. Well done.
Your match ups are just sublime
Thanks, Rich!!! 🙏
Loved every bit of this video! Thanks so much!
Thank you, jackers245! Appreciate the support! 🙏
Bonus points for the Cars shirt
Haha! One of my favorite albums

Wow gotta say your videos are extremely well done. I watch lots of filming locations, and yours are absolutely top tier, you line up shots extremely well. I hope you gain a much bigger following, you certainly deserve it.
Thank you so much, Breadking100! We'll keep making videos and hopefully people will find them!
This is my most favorite book and movie in all the world. When I saw this video, my jaw dropped! I’m actually writing a paper on film tourism for my final college project, so this certainly hyped me up to power through writing the last few pages! Thank you for uploading this, and I’m sending you lots of well wishes
Thank you, Morgan, that is so awesome to hear! Good luck on your project and I hope I get a chance to read it one day!
That’s awesome! Great job, and it was really cool to see Justin in your video. I had never thought to visit these locations and now I want to! :)
Thanks, Leslie! You HAVE to get out there and visit them. They are so cool to see!
@@GoingtotheMovies you’re welcome :)) I have added it to the list. Hopefully someday
Have a great week!!
You too, Street Stories!
I remember this movie and it's a great movie.
Brilliant video as per usual, really sorry to hear your camera got stolen here in the UK 😏
It happens! We still had a great time
One of the best movies of all time. So rad to see. Definitely going through all your videos! Awesome footage! 🤘🏻
Thanks so much, Send It Kelly! Hope you enjoy everything!
@@GoingtotheMovies Aaaaasssss yyyoooouuuu wwwiiiissssshhhh!! 🤣
Good 👍🏻 Job , a lot of fun :)
Thanks, Michael!
It's hard to believe this vid doesn't have more views! I recently found your channel and must admit, your location videos are a cut above the rest. I instantly subscribed. Thank you for all your efforts to capture these iconic scenes for posterity. 🎥🧡
Where I live is a large Victorian cemetery that has been used to stand in for a cemetery in Moscow, with white sheets and lots of shredded paper snow, and a dozen or so Russian-style gravestones added.
Once also lived and worked on Northolt airfield in London, when the opening sequence to the James Bond film 'Octopussy' was shot, and later the film and TV versions of 'Whoops Apocalypse', scenes for 'The Winds of War' TV series, part of the last 'Dirty Dozen' film, part of a film called 'The Golden Lady' (very hard to find) was shot there, and scenes for the 'New Avengers' and other TV series.
Sounds like a cool place!
I've made at least 5 or 6 trips to Britain in the last 15 years, but haven't made it to any of these locations. Oh wait I did go to the Cliffs of Moher in 2006. Clearly I need to go back and find all these places
Definitely worth a trip, Shaun!
This is wonderful.
Thank you! 🙏
Too cool. Love this movie, seen it more times than I can remember. Cheers guys.
Thank you!
Man, I really like the transparent slide comparison and when they light up. Thats amazing and easy to follow when the key features are pointed out.
Thanks, Kevin! Had to put in the glowing rocks when I realized my angle was a little off at the wall
This channel deserves way more views and subs. Great production👍
Great job.
Thank you!
This looked fun!
It was amazing!
@@GoingtotheMovies I live in Germany now so I'll have to make a trip since I'm close.
Dude! Amazing. You do such a good job
Thank you for always supporting, Mark! I already can't wait to go to Europe again!
Fantastic content. Love the presentation. Definitely subscribing. Look forward to watching more content from your channel. 😊

Love your channel!
Another great video. The amount of work in matching the scenes of the movie is so impressive. Your editing is beautiful and getting better and better. Thank you so much!!😀
Thank you, Miller! It’s a lot of work but always worth it!
Great job! And well done with getting all the shots .. travel and getting your camera stolen won’t of made things easy, but I really enjoyed this video. So nostalgic for me as I relentlessly watched this movie as a kid.
Thanks, Violet Moon! Glad you liked it! It was a blast to make
Another incredible job. Pure Awesomeness. 👍🏼
Thank you, YT1300Pilot!! Glad you liked it
Fantastic! One of my favorite films. Great job!
Thanks, Johne!
The Princess Bride is one of my favorite movies. Thanks for putting this together. Sorry to hear about the theft. Your determination and ability to overcome unexpected obstacles really comes through. I hope you make many more videos, and have lots of success with your channel.
Thanks, Cary, that means a lot! If people want more, we’ll keep making em!
Your channel and the work you put in to the videos is criminally underrated. I hope you continue to make these!!
Thank you, James! We definitely will
Brilliant 👍🏻
Thank you, Matt!
WOW that is all i can say
I hope that's a good wow, Shawn 😂
Absolutely fabulous!!!
Very good video! Best part being 20:19 lol
😆😆😆 Thank you, Merrkat911!
SIX THOUSAND subscribers Congratulations Your getting there. Now you owe us a new video LOL😅 Sorry about your gear getting stolen. I hope you can recover soon.
Thanks for the congrats Miller Wilsonn. Big video coming in the next couple weeks! 😆
This movie is 👑👑👑 in my family
Same!
Excellent work, especially under the circumstances, to keep getting better and better! If you ever want to do Downton Abbey locations, I'm so there, buddy!🤘
Thanks, Crush! Downton Abbey is towards the top of the list but they were all booked up for tours on this trip 😩 Let’s do it!
@@GoingtotheMovies Aww man! I'm totally there and excited! Downton! 🤘🥳This is an incredible journey! Was Burnham Beeches used in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves? It sounds familiar. Oh, I worked with Mandy Patinkin on Homeland! :D
omg brilliant
Thank you!! 🙏
Can you look at Hocus Pocus 2 It just came out It might be something you could do. It's a pretty good movie
I still need to do the first one!
Great work. Matlock and Derbyshire are well worth a visit, Glad you had a good time , and well scouted and highly detailed matchups.
We really enjoyed our time there. Can’t wait to get back to the UK!
@@GoingtotheMovies Would be great to see you do an Indiana Jones series in the UK. Lots of locations from the series. (including the upcoming film) One prime location = Ellstree studios, which has been dissected. So half of the old studio is now a supermarket carpark. Giving an opportunity to look all the way down to the old backlot. Then there is the school, the dock at Tillbury where they set up the Venice boat chase, etc. Then you may as well head to Venice, and Spain !
very cool!!
What a great movie for filming locations! 👍 👍 Makes me mad your camera was stolen though.
It is perfect! Breathtaking spots, most of which you can hit in a day.
man this was awesome. Watched Braveheart newly subscribed. Loving them
Excellent video guys. Sorry you lost your camera and card. Thieves are evil and I tell ya I airtag everything anymore including my dog. May you have many other pleasant and safe adventures on your travels!

I think its a great shame that Robin Wright had to pull out of playing 'Maid Marrion' 3 years later in Robin Hood ' Prince of Theives' who was cast but fell pregnant just before shooting.

Right you are
Stolen camera...there's a lot I could say about that, but this being the internet, I don't want to stir up a fuss with anyone reading this, but anyway...I always keep my gear close by/on me because of all the stories I hear of stolen gear. It's a shame this happens and no, it's not someone just trying to get something to 'buy bread for their family'. If it's not yours, leave it alone. It's that simple.

Yep, never gonna get beyond that less than 10k YT sub spot without that social media boost 1) you have no Twitter 2) you provide no access for fans to "feel" they are conversing with you. email,Twitter, Instagram, Help yourself. Give folks at least the "appearance" that they can provide feedback.
Hello MindYaManas, we’re very grateful for the subscribers we’ve gained making these videos. If what I’ve heard is correct, it takes an average of two years for a new channel to hit its first 1K. We did it in 4 months. However, that isn’t the reason I started this channel. Of course, I’ve gotten caught up in the numbers from time to time, but the main purpose was to create something cool as a way to introduce our future kids to movies we love, make visual guides for other location hunters, and to give myself a creative outlet for my passion for video editing, graphic design, building motion graphics, etc. I do appreciate your feedback and you are probably right about the subscriber count, but it’s not something I can focus on with my current job (which recently became video production thanks to this channel). I don’t typically plug socials in the videos for the reasons stated above but I do have an Instagram and TikTok which are always linked in the video descriptions and our email is randvgotothemovies@gmail.com if you’d like to reach out there.
