I use a lot of the mystery ranch miltary range in coyote and crossfire Australia, but i never see anyone on these U Tube hiking videos using mystery ranch in the field.
Do you like the 21L GR1 or the 26L better? I have both. I’m 5’6” and I like the way the 21L fits, but it just doesn’t hold as much as I need to carry daily. I wish GORUCK could find a way to make a shorter 26L bag that would be more comfortable.
@@peterfactora3843 That's what I am waiting for! It's sold out. Personally, I think it will work better as a travel bag, which is what I want it for. Though it's short at 18," depth-wise - with two compartments vs. one - it's pretty bulky and overkill for EDC. But that's just me...Maybe it works well for those with big, daily load-outs...Good idea, though...
I find the gr2 26 perfect for me for that reason. Fits on my back like the gr1 21 but holds as much as the 26. They were harder to get in the past but have been around a bit more lately. I think they'll continue to stock it going forward. Probably what you'd want would be a larger Radio Ruck, though.
I do, but, I prefer the Heritage if I'm going that slick direction. For normal daily stuff I tend to grab the one in this video. Just a bit more utility.
One thing with the Dragon that bothered me, the zippers to open the lid and main compartment are the same! I noticed you pulled the wrong ones as well when showing the laptop compartment from the top. I had to modify mine with some color to differentiate.
Great comparison bromigo! I think you really captured it. By the way was that a large yolk/harness for the Dragon that I spied? It's the only thing from using my Dragon regularly: That Sm/Med yolk it came with. As a side note one of the things I love about Mission Workshop is things stay dry guaranteed. What I noticed with the Dragon is I got moisture inside when I used it on a two hour ride in a torrential down pour. It's not something I imagined could happen after using MW bags for so many years. That brings me to the water resistance of GoRuck... how do they hold up?
I think that the reason the Mission Workshop bags stay super dry is the liner. Water is getting into the bag through seams no matter what in a big downpour. But the Mission Workshop bags have that weatherproof liner so your things never get wet. If you could see beyond that liner I'm sure water would be in-between. Matters little though as long as the things stay dry. Neither the Dragon nor the Goruck have liners so you'd probably notice either get wet in that kinda situation. I think bags made for bike messengers tend to be the most weather resistant. I have a rolltop from chrome that's properly weatherproof.
I would tend to said the GR2 26L is the better option for us shorter folks needing a bit more space. It's slightly taller so you might have more luck with your laptop. That said, I can wear the 26L just find even though I tend to "feel" like it's big my wife says it's all in my head. I'm 170cm or around the same height as you.
You're so right; that dragon you cant get away with it at an office/meeting. To me, it is still flashy and attracts eyes (MCB). Today I was going into the city in Boston, and the place I was going dragon would draw eyes, while on the other hand, I was using my Evergoods civic half zip, which is very similar in being very inconspicuous like GR1 (minus molle) Its just very clean, no labels and not flashy at all. people wont tend to pay attention to you versus dragon you will. Great vid!
The MCB isn't an issue for me at all. I use MCB bags all the time. If the Dragon were black I'd feel the same way. It's more a matter of carrying a hiking bag vs a 'normal' daily carry bag. The Evergoods bags do a decent job, although the MPL would have similar issues to the dragon for me. Too outdoorsy. I can't really use Evergoods bags at the office because by the time I get their they look like fur jackets haha. The TBB in ballistic is probably the best of all worlds.
Never thought I would see another goruck in Seoul. Glad to see yours.

Thanks for the comparison and break down of 3 awesome bags. Glad that Rick gets to spend his time in that TBB bag. Good stuff and awesome packs!!
Bro ! You have to do a comparison video btween the goruck wire dopp full and the new evergoods cap1 👀🌚
Dude, if I weren't broke I'd have picked one up hahaha. This bag game catches up to you :P

Ditto
A GR2 26L?
@@peterfactora3843 It’s almost a novelty item. It doesn’t come around too often. Besides, I would rather the one compartment instead of the two.

I have the same water bottle pockets, they don’t line up evenly the way I’ve mounted them. How did you mount yours? Mine hang off to one side.
Maybe shoot me a message and let's see what's going on. Probably have to see a picture.
This is Solomon like comparison, there is no right answer; they’re both amazing bags.
Definitely. I think your answer is a Heritage haha. Love mine too.
I was hoping the GR2 26l was going to make an appearance. My bias would of been the GR2 26l over the Dragon.
It's at SCARS getting some work done. Most people know it's my favourite bag haha.
Love your content. Do you still have the Carryology GR1? I'm trying to decide between that and the regular one

Yeah, I remember thinking I should mention it but forgot and moved on. Hasn't happened a whole lot but when it does it is for sure annoying.
Could please you post links to the water bottle pockets and molle pouch for the GR1?

Hey JT, can share the link of the pouch mounted in the GR1?

Great video, 1 question. I'm 5'7 do you think the gr1 26L is to big? The gr1 21L is a bit to small for my 15.6 inch laptop.
