@@3rdGenGuy the new bricks they call F1 cars are a problem for drivers who like tight front ends and throttle steer. Pretty sad really that with the evolution of F1 and the requirements to put in more electric engine components, that despite the advancements in aerodynamics and ground-force, the added weight is reducing F1 to tyre management (even in qualifying) vs just going full raw dog and as hard and fast as you can. People talk about driver adaptability and that they all need to adjust to drive the cars in the windows... but, personally I'd like to see it back to being about man and machine being on the absolute limit to win vs who can manage the car and run around at 85% best. I personally believe DR would still kick ar@# in the light weight sports car racing.

i'm not a racing expert but when i see clips like these it appears like the person in the car which is behind has control over what happens (if the guy in front doesn't want to die)
I say this because it sort of reminds me of how in a dogfight there's a certain point behind an enemy you'd want to be in such that they can't force an overshoot and you can indirecly choose where they go and get a kill. here it feels like perez is in that chase plane but actually he wants to overshoot to block the corner so he gets close and pretends to sneak on in the inside when he actually wouldn't be able to so that the guy infront has to lose speed and time in some way inorder to not die. then at the next corner after bleeding the energy of the enemy he has the prime chance where he is the faster car and can zip by and "overshoot" blocking the corner whilst also taking a good line giving his opponent no chance to catch up.
basically what i'm asking is. similarly to the other expensive machines vs one another with a dude inside (one in the air and one on the ground) is defending actually more impressive being the one on the attack

I wish I knew what it was like to drive one of those cars so I could understand how difficult it is to brake that late.

Newish to F1, but not racing.
Not understanding the " dummy " description lol No contact overtakes looked sweet to me.

Im new too, is dummy because when you try to overtake, you brake late like a mistake
The the rival is forced to brake and be slower, this thing can happen when you are new, wrong or dummy
The line is wrong too, but is annoying if you are trying to do a best time

Keep in mind this is the is video uploaders personal opinion on whether or not these are "dummy moves".
A few of them were, a few of them were failed divebombs and he rethought his strategy to get the overtake done on the same lap.
    It's clear to see.
