Dev: I've tirelessly created an entire universe that accurately represents space in which you can go to anything you can see. Nobody: Gray: I'm gonna go to Florida!
The reason time speeds up outside the neutron star is because the star slows time down relative to the rest of the universe, meaning seeing someone on a neutron star is seeing them in slow motion. (Same for black holes)
K Graff nice try but nope. Neutron stars just spin insanely fast because of way the neutrons packed into it over time. Black holes do spend space/time tho
9:20 that's probably because neutron stars can rotat with around 20-25% the speed of light and have a absurdly high density, thus a great gravitational lens effect.
Fun fact: if you're in a black hole, u wont actually experience darkness. Anything that goes in it is trapped forever. Therefore there's light in it which actually can't escape
Well strangely the light that is “beneath you” cannot reach you even as you fall in. The light “overhead” should only be blueshifted if you are not in free fall, hence accelerating away from the BH outside of the even horizon. So ultimately no signal reaches you as you eventually become spaghettified approaching the singularity. There’s no light to reflect off of anything and even if there were, it would never actually reach your “location” in any detectable wavelength. Essentially, all rigid objects become destroyed inside a black hole, and the interaction between any two locations in time become cut off until it possibly evaporates via quantum vacuum fluctuations near the event horizon. It’s almost as if the rest mass and relativistic momentum of anything that falls in gets converted to pure gravitational energy.
@@bjornragnarsson8692 makes sense as to why black holes pull objects even more when they consume enough matter. Also why does light get blueshifted at the event horizon?
Ok, so here's a really simplified explanation of the reason time seemed to be moving so fast outside the black holes and the neutron star: Space-Time can be imagined as a plane (not the flying machine) that can be bent by gravity. Imagine space-time as a flat cloth. Drop something in it. It bends the cloth. The heavier the object, the more the cloth bends. More gravity, means more bending. So objects like Black-holes and Neutron stars bend time more and slow it down because they have a lot of gravity. So time outside the black hole/neutron star seems to move much faster. Heck, even the Earth bends time. The space around Earth is a bit faster (time-wise) than the Earth.
Biggie Cheese i mean...Gravity bends the fabric of the universe, thats how gravity works, more gravity = more bends, and if it bends the fabric of the universe too much it becomes a gravity well, or a fancy term for a black hole
Gray! You were absolutely right about the neutron star. A Neutron star spins so fast that it drags space-time with it. The same happens with blackholes, but in greater affect. This creates a region called the Ergosphere. This time dialation is considered by some to be a type of "Time Travel."

Love neutron stars. It’s like taking the sun and crushing it until the diameter is 12 kilometers. That is dense and the rotation is crazy fast, approaching a quarter the speed of light. WOW!
That bright blue ring around the black hole is called an accretion disk. It's basically a collection of random matter orbiting the hole at speeds we can barely fathom and emitting heat and radiation we can't ever fully appreciate.
if you were to go inside the event horizon of a black hole, you would actually see all of space, (360 degrees around you) all in front of you. kinda like taking your FOV in a game and cranking it to 360
I'm late to the party but as an astronomy student I have to correct some assumptions about neutron stars. (Also Grey, I love your space episodes ❤) 1) They do spin extremely fast. Think about a figure skater speeding up their spin by drawing their hands in. The same happens with stars when they become neutron stars. They become really small (as small as 20km across) and dense and the smaller it becomes the more it speeds up. Some can rotate as fast as 43 000 times a minute. 2) Time does indeed seem to go faster on the surface of a neutron star. Remember our dude Einstein? Well, he talked about space time aka the relationship of gravitation and time (and a lot more). As neutron stars are incredebly dense their surface gravity is unbelievably strong (second only to black holes). Gravity this strong greatly affects the perception of time. If you look at a neutron star from outside you'd see things move slow, and if you were on the surface everything else would seem to move really fast. Not because it actually is, just because your perception of time gets warped. Cause, y'know... space time and stuff. I do more of the math side for things but I do specialize in objects of greater mass if someone wants to know more. Pulsars are my favourite 😉

This one's early. GG, Grey. Ya finally know how to upload early.
If a black hole can anything in it then one sucked out my originality
🌟 *The guy totally lost his sanity, since his early video uploads* 😹😹😹
That bright blue ring around the black hole is called an accretion disk. It's basically a collection of random matter orbiting the hole at speeds we can barely fathom and emitting heat and radiation we can't ever fully appreciate.
if you were to go inside the event horizon of a black hole, you would actually see all of space, (360 degrees around you) all in front of you.
kinda like taking your FOV in a game and cranking it to 360

MINECRAFT MOOOOON
"I see your Schwartz is bigger than mine"
Love you gray
(No homo though)
Absurat thanks man
I'm late to the party but as an astronomy student I have to correct some assumptions about neutron stars.
(Also Grey, I love your space episodes ❤)
1) They do spin extremely fast.
Well... I do believe I heard Markiplier die of dehydration from the amount of tears of happiness he shed
I truly think that millions of souls were extraculated in today's video of pain and sadness.
By the way, I see that you have uploaded 50 minutes before schedule. Was this intentional? Is this normal?.
Space Engine:I am the best space game.
Universe Sandbox 2: *Am I a joke to you?*
4:56 You're welcome!
SO COOL! All the stars were blue shifted when you were inside the black hole!
2:39 A truly educational moment!
