Hero, awake and alive, whispers in the dark, feel invincible, legendary, comatose, the last night, rebirthing, falling inside the black, One day too late, it's not me it's you, don't wake me
Skillet....Yet another GREAT band with a wide variety of GREAT songs!!!! Hope we get into some Rise Against, Hailstorm, Default, Trapt, Taproot, Skindred, 311, and Chevelle just to name a few....
The monster is just you. It's not something external. It's something you can confront. I made peace with my rage and anger. They're a part of me. And that gives me power.
So glad you did some Skillet! Their music actually has some positive messages. Check out Hero, Legendary, Surviving the Game, or Awake and Alive, just to name a few
As a Desert Shield/Storm veteran with combat-related PTSD, Monster speaks to me in very deep ways. Before I got help from the VA, my monster was always JUST beneath the surface, waiting to spring at the slightest trigger. Thankfully, I never struck my wife or children in anger, but the monster is big, ugly and mean. The monster is responsible for at least 22 veteran suicides a day. I refuse to be one of the 22. I have too much to live for. Someone else mentioned Psycho in My Head, by Skillet. I second that! It's really hard to pick ONE Skillet song, though. They are a great band.
Sorry you have to deal with that. I've never been under that kind of stress myself, and that's probably a good thing. I definitely have a monster just below the surface and the few times it has almost come out has made me afraid of what would happen to the point where I avoid conflict of most any kind just to be safe.
"Whispers in the Dark" is an incredibly popular song of theirs. Their album history: Collide Comatose Awake and Alive Rise Undefeated Victorious and Dominion Its a progression
Just saw them in concert 4 days ago playing to a sold out crowd. They were awesome!!!! Fantastic sound and so much energy. This one brought the house down!
Taylor, a little known fact, Skillet is a Christian band and the Christian community didn't like the part where he says, "I feel like a monster." in that deep monster voice, because it resembled too close to be demonic. So Skillet changed his voice back to his normal voice for the radio version.
So what? The monster is his inner demon, so yeah, that's kinda the point. It's his inner demon breaking out. Man, hard-core Christians can be so annoying
Her reactions are completely fake. Yall act like she hasn't listen or watched the video. You actually think she never heard freak on a leash by korn? Nah. Fake.
I think diving into Falling In Reverse is a rabbit hole you should approach. You’ve got the trilogy (losing my mind, losing my life, drugs), you’ve got popular monster, voices in my head, zombified, or watch the world burn. Or their cover of Last Resort…. Dive in, I dare you.
definitely need more skillet. the resistance, feel invincible, sick of it, back from the dead, rise, not gonna die, hero, awake and alive, circus for a psycho, its not me its you, one day too late, those nights, the last night, never surrender, whispers in the dark, comatose
Very true..when my anxiety and intermittent explosive disorder gets to be too much my heart gets hot and pounds then i start to tingle and get dizzy!! That's usually when people know it's a good time to leave me alone!!
Thanks for all the reactions I really help understand more the music I love my first language is french that why sometime I dont understand all the meaning of the songs
Great reaction 😀 I only started following your channel yesterday. I personally love Skillet (all of their songs). So I am looking forward to hear your reaction to other songs from them😊. Besides Skillet I also wanted to recommend Epic: The musical, especially The Underworld saga because in this saga is also struggle with in but for context would be better to listen the previous sagas. 😀 Keep your good work 💪
i need to hear your reaction to dig it on bmth. i like skillet, I was at their concert and it was brutal, you should definitely listen to their other songs. I have read quite a few good suggestions here. I love you and really like your reactions. They are so natural and emotional.
Great band, I’ve been listening to them for years. Love the reaction to this song If I can suggest something to react to: Pop Evil: “100 in a 55” or “torn to pieces”
I LOVE SKILLET no matter what anybody says especially if it's some believer that can't have a little fun that doesn't hurt anyone at all besides one's mind of what one believes in limiting them literally from fun but yeah that is what it is. Skillet has made a lot of great songs I find or found myself back in a cycle playing back a lot like Linkin Parks song back then as now.
Skillet puts on a great live show, especially when they're the headliner. Talk about confession.... Go see one of their shows and catch the glimpse that could change your life for eternity.
You should do the song "Not dead yet" by Ledger. It is the drummer's solo release. When they played it live at Skillet concerts Jon learned how to play drums just for her to be able to do it.
I came across this page from the Slipknot reaction videos and like that she's done some for a few other artists I enjoy. Would love if Taylor dives more into Skillet, Falling in Reverse, and Sleeping With Sirens reactions. From Skillet songs would love her to do Falling In The Black, Theory of a Deadman, Psycho in My Head, Rise, Not Gonna Die, Awake and Alive, I Want To Live, Undefeated, Surviving the Game, Would It Matter, Save Me, Hero, and Invincible.
Such a great breakdown and also a fantastic song. Skillet has a lot of fantastic songs in their discography. I would really love to see you react to Fabvl's "Lost it All". The character the artist is portraying is from the anime Berserk. Very Tradgic character.
I'd recommend Hate Myself by Yavid, the Trauma Model and Eyes by King 810 (same singer btw). The man does not shy away from the monster he had to become to survive Flint, Michigan
November 1st, which is tomorrow and skillet has a new cd is coming out. Skillet has a few new music videos plus they also have two graphic novels as well.
Need to do a Skillet song where John and Jen both sing. Awake and Alive or Not Gonna Die feature them both and have strong mental health messages. Everything of theirs is so empowering tbh!
That song is where I went to when I was younger, as I have an issue with anger where I black out and lose control. The come down is not so easy, like trying to wrestle control from a part of you that feels so right but is not the way to be. So glad I wasn't reading into this song when I was younger.
Skillet has been around since 1996, but they didn't get their first radio hit ("Hero") until 2009. That's 13 long years of dedicated hard work with very little reward, and frontman John Cooper has said he was tempted many times during that period to just end the whole thing. But starting with the popularity of their album "Awake", mainstream listeners really began to appreciate Skillet, and now they're one of the biggest bands in the world...Christian or otherwise.
Always interesting to see different takes on songs like this. Skillet has quite a few good ones! If you're open to suggestions, three I think are meaningful and great songs: The Part That Hurts the Most - Thousand Foot Krutch Better Lie - Ghostseeker Out of my Head - The SIDH featuring SounDiver
If you're breaking down lyrics and storys in songs, "Currents" is a fantastic band for this kind of reaction. I'd recommend their song "Shattered". I've seen some tiktoks about that song and how it's saved peoples lives. It's a beautiful song, although on the heavier side
As someone who battles the demons of mental health issues I can relate to coming to terms with the monster inside. I think the most therapy relevant songs from Skillet are "The Last Night", "Not Gonna Die", and "Victorious". "Victorious" hits pretty hard when you learn it was written in response to the death of Chester Bennington of Linkin Park.
@heartsupport I have recently had a huge mental health breakdown. Fiance left me without a word, was about to switch careers but had to cancel because I was going to be the only paycheck. Also think about it from a veteran perspective. All/most of us knew about the dark side/monster inside us and the military allowed us to use that monster to protect and teach us to keep it in the cage, but unlocked. U need to listen to the remake by Payton Parrish.
I’m a 10 year recovering addict and EVERY time I hear this song is like day 1, I actually used it to explain to my wife what I feel like at times when we were dating
One of my favorite skillet songs by far. Did you just discover this song on your upload date? Glad you enjoyed it and it’s always been a good go back song for me.
Be ready to do a deep dive into their songs. The woman he is running with (guitarist) is his wife IRL. I'm about half of the views. They are a go to for gym time.
Whispers in the dark, feel invincible, and awake and alive are probably their best ones!
☝thissss
awake and alive is my favorite song by them! This is my second one! Skillet is such a good band
WHISPERS IN THE DARK PLZ
Lucy, and the last night.
May I recomend you Rebirthing?
When I see Taylor react, I'm all over it. One of my favorite people I don't know.
That's so well put.

Hero, awake and alive, whispers in the dark, feel invincible, legendary, comatose, the last night, rebirthing, falling inside the black, One day too late, it's not me it's you, don't wake me

Yes to all of these!! Especially Halestorm & Skindred!! More Skillet too!! 🤘😁🔥🔥

The girl drummer is so amazing!!! She sings and drums at the same time
Her names jen ledger she has her own solo music called ledger , highly recommend it she's amazing!

As a fellow veteran, you're not alone brother
Ah yes, my favorite band in middle school. I hope you react to more of their songs, you won't be disappointed
Honestly Skillet is a great band. Simple lyrics and its quite relatable.
Damn the therapy you provide in these videos is so valuable. I will be using the “feeling like a monster” metaphor from now on.
🤡

"Whispers in the Dark" is an incredibly popular song of theirs.
Their album history:

Their album history dates back even further. Alien Youth and Hey You, I Love Your Soul
I think their very first album was self titled
Another great reaction. Skillet is one of my favorite bands.
May I suggest these songs.
Feel Invincible
Awake and Alive
Psycho in My Head
INVINCIBLE 100%
