I love the fact you're making this gt500 more street car friendly. It's good that people see this and understand that when you're talking about a street car every last hp and every last tenth isn't always what makes the decisions. You can have a very nice driving and fun street car that can still get down at the track by going with a setup like what you're going with. Everyone wants a huge Whipple and an auto and all the hp till they find out the car drives like shit and isn't fun anymore outside of the drag strip. I think keeping the manual and going tvs is absolutely ideal for a street car and judging by your actions with this car you agree. Good job.
Great video! Very much appreciate the technical videos and illustrating the bumps in the road you encounter along the way and not just showing the clean finished product after install. It’s important to show that all this is not just “plug n play” as many will portray it to be. Please don’t stop doing what you do. Much continued success sir!
Re: throttle bodies. I’m not sure about the newest vmp throttle bodies but if I’m not mistaken everyone else was using the stock ford actuators to operate their big ass throttle bodies and they all had issues like this where the actuator wasn’t strong enough to hold the tb open. There are a couple people who lost motors because the Tb did some sort of reset calibration at WOT. Honestly the primary benefit of turbos and centrifugal superchargers imho is compressing the air before it gets to the throttle body so you can use a stock throttle body
Hey Alex, I remember Demonology had a similar issue. Turned out to be the electronic throttlebody couldn't handle the pressure so he had to go old school drive by cable. Hope this helps.
Gotta say I agree. One of multiple reasons I went with an 07 gt500. I have a gen3r on mine I can't say enough good things about the tvs. For a street car tvs all day every day and they can go quick at the track too.
Badass. Being that I have a 2.9 whipple gt500, this is very relatable content. Tig vision I think makes a battery/catch can that goes in the location of the stock battery, or just run breathers with sweat bands around them to prevent oil spray on the coil covers you know, foxbody style.
Nicely done. I'm a diehard whipple guy and I am looking forward to seeing the results when you get it on the dyno. Do you think you would get this TVS ported in the future? Not many guys are doing videos of each upgrade like you are with all your vehicles. Godspeed and keep up the good work.
A little crank case oil blowing on your s/c rotors is good for keeping them lubricated... At least that's what my buddy's dad's uncle on his mom's side says
Hey Alex, I have a gen3r on my built motor 2014 gt500. 2.4 upper and 10% lower with an 85.3" belt. I have the bps ac delete to install but can't find and belt length info. Do you know if the bps kit is the ac idler that you have installed? Thanks in advance and keep up the great content!
Do you think the same or similar logic applies to the 2300 vs. 2650 Alex? As far as the “instant” throw into the back of the seat? … Looking forward to seeing the IAT numbers and the delta between these two blowers! I think the 2650 will surprise the party.
Used to have a 2.3 whipple on my truck, miss that. Has an s480 now and while it makes way more power, it's not a fun. Blowers on daily driver shit is > Turbo.

@@midnight347 you are not wrong sir. And I appreciate the edit. The truck in the picture I do daily drive. Just not when it snows. I am in northwest Ohio after all. It's that or my LS swapped fairmont. Which I want to put a blow on...
@@markhutchins3643 BMR was the whole FKA situation. He addressed the JLT thing out right in the live where Gale Banks roasted JLT for their TRX intake testing
The hate is strong for JLT in this video. lol. It's going to be cool to see what it was makes with the TVS. I wonder if it will make more heat than the old whipple.
What is the 4.5 Whipple's rpm limit? I'm guessing it's not even close, maybe a smaller blower closer to the limit and great cooling could be better. My .02c, correct me if I'm wrong.
Twin screws are more efficient than roots style blowers so I dont see you making more power or even equal power by swapping. Also the reason the TVS is easier to rotate by hand VS the Whipple is due to the fact a twin screw actually compresses air inside itself so there is more resistance to rotation as you compress the air while rotating it.
Hey bicho what ever condo or town house complex you live in thats lets you have that many cars is gold bro down here in my miami its 2 cars per unit and if you have any others figure it out! 😂🤣
Curious to see what kind of power the 2.65 makes versus the whipple. I currently have a 4.0 whipple on my built motor GT500 and have been considering swapping to a TVS or 3.8 whipple.
If your car is a street car first and foremost go with the gen3r and don't look back. They can still make ALOT of power but they feel 100x better on the street and more fun to drive in normal street driven rpm ranges.
@@midnight347 if you don’t have real experience don’t say that, i have a kenne bell 3.2 on mine , and my friend has a 3.4 Whipple, both are similar “friendly” when compared to the stock eaton M122.

You need a shorter bolt because it is clearanced to fit under the tvs. That's why vmp sold it with a tool and a shorter bolt. Good luck.

In a nutshell the owner of JLT talked shit online when Alex and Lund parted ways years ago, and JLT in general seems to have questionable quality.

Vmp tvs for the win
With the efficiency that's TV's brings I think you'll be able to make similar power with maybe 30-35 less degree iat.
And the torque will be way higher and it'll be alot more fun to drive in the lower rpm range. They are just badass blowers.
Yes
TVS 2650 FTW!!
Ah yes back to a TVS 😎
Are you thinking of running the lines off the valve covers to a catch can instead of having oil sucked up into the blower???
Yes
Vmp best in the game imo

Yes...i dislike them...Same thing....big massive ones make power by the tvs pound for pound kills bigger blowers output. But we'll see on this one
