I've heard Scotts story many times and every time it moves me. Just how fortunate it was that your father was there and the fight he had to stay alive. Plus, because he understand so much about guns, he knew it wasn't the firearm or something he did. It had to be something else. He didn't let his accident end his passion or his UA-cam career.

@@jamesborek8125 Unfortunately without training, you don't really know until you're in the moment. From my experience, if the emergency is something out of the ordinary, that's when you panic. I've had to rush a loved one to the hospital with a broken bone, no problem. I can deal with and understand a broken bone. However recently I had a friend who had a really bad seizure, and I panicked. Mainly because I had read conflicting advice on what to do, "DONT restrain the person" and "Move person to recovery position". I couldn't do both because he was flailing. I didn't understand what was happening or how to deal with it, so to my shame I panicked.

This was inspiring. I've been down bad a year now, immobile, trying to climb back out of the hole. I started the Appalachian Trail last year but got off for a urinary issue I had to get checked out. Afterwards I got a back injury where my pelvis and spine meet that I tried to get fixed on my own but I'm going to guess due to lack of insurance the chiropractor I was seeing treated it more like a back massage. I can't go more than 15 minutes before my back slowly declines and I have to either support the weight or sit down. The immobility has lead to significant weight gain which makes it worse. Currently trying to go through the state to get it fixed and get mobile and healthy again so I can reattempt the thru hike. So if I get approved I'll be looking for a better chiropractor more in Dr Beau's style. Wish me luck and thanks for the inspiration.

I had emergency chest surgery in 2015 to repair a torn heart valve and aortic dissection. That pain and fear of coughing and sneezing was very real. The first couple of days after waking up, it hurt like hell to even clear my throat, and taking a deep breath was impossible. Thankfully it was about about 2 weeks after surgery before I had to sneeze. But I didn't have my chest pillow nearby. And dude....that FUCKING HURT!! Glad you were able to get back to normal after an ordeal like that Scott!

The more I hear his story
The more it actually sets in for me how flippin lucky he is to still be here
Initially for me it was just like "oh shit, well, he's still here so he's fine" but now I actually see really how flippin lucky he is to be alive.
Hell yeah Scott, keep going you legend!

Doc, If you are ever in Ohio, I am a disabled Army Veteran and small UA-cam automotive channel guy. I could use one of these extreme alignments. I have ankle, knee, hip, lowerback, and shoulder problems from my time in the Army. I miss the chiropractor I had when I was stationed in Germany. Scott is an awesome guy. I don't personally know him but I have been one of his subscribers for years. Keep up the great work and great videos.

He's a strong guy mentally and physically. Dude is built like a tank, plus he was a cop so he's aware of how hairy situations can be. Not detracting from his feat of surviving what he did, it's still very impressive.

A mate of mine got his leg crushed flat. They said he'd never walk without crutches, but he said, 'oh, yeah?' and pushed himself to recover range of motion. He eventually got back to playing sports.

I've been leery of chiropractors for years. Now, I am terrified. Had a Vietnamese dude give me a "massage" about 30 years ago and had a scab down my back for a couple of weeks. My ex and her daughter used to go and it sounds like the chiropractor ran a goofy Radio Shack thing over them for about 5 minutes. I didn't feel like I was getting my money's worth. This guy seems legit, though. Baby Blue is a really good song. RIP 3/4 of Bad Finger.
