Rover 45 MK2 CVT - The Review of an Underrated Legend
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 жов 2024
- There are very few cars of which has been quietly and efficently carrying it's duties out since the Birth in 1995, from family cars to company cars to the humble Taxi. The HHR 400/45 has done it, needing very little polish just hard graft using solid mechanics and engineering from a very well-thought partnership... fast forward to 2024 and the 45 is vast dissapearing due to poor values and brand perception. So this is a much needed review on the supposetly worst part of the cars history - the short-lived MK2 Facelift!

I had a P reg 420 diesel. It was absolutely bombproof and never let me down. I want a 45 after seeing this now.
The L-Series is a bombproof lump!
Great to see your 45 again and that it's been running well in general. I appreciate the Rover 45 even though I'm not a Rover owner but still enjoy your videos on it 😁👍.
I really appreciate this Adam because not many people who are not a fan of a brand or type of car would still watch a full review on one, myself might be included with some cars. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic review video , very well structured, factual and superbly presented.
cheers buddy I'm glad you like it!
I have never known much about the Rover 45 apart from the Honda connection so this was interesting for me. My uncle (enthusiast of British cars) mentioned that he owned a couple 45s in the past, but I think he got a little tired of working on them. He still has a set of original floor mats however which he wants to give away.
I'd love those mats for my 45, but only fair to offer them to Andrew first for giving us such an excellent insight into one the most underrated cars ever built
Has he! I would love a set if he wants to move them on! Your uncle must have loved them to have had 4, not uncommon to hear of just like a MK1 Focus!
@@usuallyfixingtinkering I will have to take a look the next time I see him. It is a bit of a mess as he has lots of parts lying around his barn. If possible I will get them sent to you, but I don't think he has enough energy right now to send them himself.
Really interesting video- didn’t know a lot of this
I'm glad to have show you :)
I had a 1995 rover 400 1.4 with split spoke wheels it was red and eye catching, people laughed at me. but then when they sat in they reliesed it wasnt such a bad car.
Absolutely, quality interior!
What about MPG data?
I've not done MPG data purely because at this age it doesnt match what was factory and is totally depending on how they have been looked after - which as you can imagine varies greatly! In summary the 1.8 CVT show almost match the manual 1.8 for fuel consumption.
those rover 45`s are rubbish, i`ve owned four of them, the 45 is not a classic, the ONLY decent rover was the 75, a far far better car
I respectively disagree on many accounts, this is the main reason why so little survive - what makes the 75 a far better car? More importantly if its so rubbish a car - why have you owned 4 of them!!
Well I own both a 45 and a 75 and can tell you that although the 75 is a great car and very comfortable it's not a patch on the 45 which is a fantastic drivers car and much more reliable!
I think maybe you were extremely unlucky to have 4 bad 45s ! What was it with all 4 that made them so bad?
They were built !
You think they're rubbish but owned 4 of them?
Sadomasochistic tendancies springs to mind.
