Have you seen our latest AWESOME FISHING VIDEO? Graeme and Mike try out a relatively new fishing technique - Float fishing meat on a river! It is a deadly technique and great fun! We hope you guys like the video. Please comment and let us know what you think, or if you really enjoyed it, please share it to the world! #fish #fishing #awesome #float #video #beginners #action #barbel #chub #youtube
The idea was to get information and history from an area where that type of bait fishing began and proliferated.Talking provides information, and information catches you fish.Watching somebody just wind them in tells you nothing. We like to drain people with our interviews until they go weak at the knees !! More info = more fish.At least that's the theory here at Totally Awesome.Keep watching.More great new films lined up.And um....there's more talking to come.
uncle Graeme I just love how you and mike have a great father and son relationship and love each other company, keep up the great videos and keep the informative and fun content coming please do more father and son videos they are quite a great collaboration. GREETINGS from CANADA!!!!!!! :-)
Jesus those Barbels were huge theones in my area are the smaller version of those they are any where from 7 to 10 inches in length..but yeah i usually take a hot dog with me for bait ...this video explained a lot why i only kept catching Barbel Fish or Beghlu as we call them here .....thank you for uploading i will definitely try all the tips i learn from your vids this season ..wish me luck
I like to cut meat as a cylinder with a fat felt tip pen top - make a hole in the end so you can push or blow it out with a plastic drinking straw - then use the Flash bits for loose feed can press 3 or 4 at a time. It just makes a different shape from the "Seen it All Before" Cubes. Slice the meat 8 or 10mm thick first!!
Graham, do you remember the squash feeder guy who recommended the loafer float as it was better to control in fast water. Have you tried both floats? In fast water? This is the best method I've seen to roll meat.
Hope you feel better after watching this film.More to follow, keep watching,we made three films in the last three evenings alone, and have coarse, sea, and flyfishing all lined up !!
thats a great attitude, most americans i've met ridicule float fishing and all they do is lure fishing for bass as if there weren't any other fish species you could fish for. Tight lines!
You can use some shot down the line if you want to. Two number four is Dave Harrells way I gather., but nothing near the hook 12'' is ideal. And people wonder why rods get broken??
Cant believe you have made a video about meat, my next video that I have been working on this week is about meat!!! You beat me to it TA lads. Great video as always though well done
Taf I do beach fishing on the isle of wight I wamt to make my own rigs but only want to buy one pack of hooks to save money. What hook size is best allround for shore fishing
Hi Lewis, I found your question interesting . I think you would be better going a bit smaller to a size 2 or even 4 in the summer. It's worth investing a couple of quid for different sizes up to 2/0. I like sakuma hooks, IMO they stay sharper longer. Great video as always TAF, legends!
So you just let the wagler float down the river? But for how long, I mean if you don't get a bite, do you reel in after about 20-30 metres and cast again? Thank you for your answer in advance :)
3xScArFaCex3 Yes,just run the float down the swim until change of depth,or you get a bite,or you cannot see the float. Then do the same over and over again. Its called "trotting".
Thank you very much, I've been doing it a few times but was not sure if it was the right way and didn't know what the english term for that was, but got me some realy nice chub that way :)
Tok 4000.Occasionally line goes round back of spool and line clip protrudes on the spool edge which also snags the line. But you are right. We still like them, and love the tinkly drags.Sound like an old school alarm clock.
You know its alright using meat, but fish and other river life are gonna consume a lot of artificial colour and flavour and it's not gonna be good for them, it can potentially have a detrimental effect on the fishery, fish will be weaker and less resilient due to chemical toxicity. People need to think a little deeper and be a little more considerate and ecological in their approach and not just take take all they can in whatever way they can.
Would love to listen to Clive’s wealth of knowledge on more topics.
I am proud as an East Londoner to be a member of Bridgnorth A.S for many years.
Fantastic video Mr Pullen.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
I may never fish this way,but the expertise shown is admirable and amazing to watch!

Very informative! Love the longer videos. Looks like an all round great place to fish. Old school baits sometimes get forgotten.
Never keep barbel in a keep net as their dorcel catches in the mesh
Love the channel, I get to see a lot of insight in fishing from across the pond by watching you guys.
Thanks, glad you like it!
Great video :) I live in Bridgnorth my self and I fish the river regular on feeder. After watching this video I'm gonna give the float a try
Great video thank for the new tips
I would certainly try fly fishing for those big chub if I ever had a chance to! I guess they would go crazy for some big deep fished nymphs.
Well done guys, my type of fishing
Great vid as always. I'd love to see an episode about crucian carp or tench fishing though.

I use those hooks for fishing large bread flakes on the surface for carp, not the proper use but I found they work great for that.
I fish that spot love river fishing cont wait till it opens again back to barbul fishing my biggest was boy the bridge 12 .3 pound
I would love to see some canal carp videos. It's a tough challenge though!
Another brilliant video guys. I end up watching your vids every night in bed on my phone and I never get any sleep! Haha
lol same here, always getting new ideas for the next session
What a fantastic video. I'm going to try that method on the Wye next season.
Great stuff...got to try this meat on the speci wag out on the Ribble

Barbel in a keep net - not advised in my opinion
I was thinking the same
totally awesome information!
Awsome show guys now lets go pike fishin. Where's the quad copter.
Great!!,i am sick so i am going to bed to watch this :)
Hope you feel better after watching this film.More to follow, keep watching,we made three films in the last three evenings alone, and have coarse, sea, and flyfishing all lined up !!
Kings Weir is in Wormley,Hertfordshire as long as I’ve fished there over 50 years ,not Ware.
Great video guys! :) keep it up.
thats my mate rich you go boy :)
i love vids, but i live in Florida i still like to keep a open mind with different ways to fish
thats a great attitude, most americans i've met ridicule float fishing and all they do is lure fishing for bass as if there weren't any other fish species you could fish for. Tight lines!
I'm an American and I love floater fishing!!
i dont know iF you have suckers in Fl but this technique would work well For them
Another awesome video :)

I do believe that is a Khale hook. 3/0 up to 9/0 used over here in the states for fishing dead shad in current for catfish.
I prefer circle hooks for cats too, but have seen people use them.
Cant believe you have made a video about meat, my next video that I have been working on this week is about meat!!!
You beat me to it TA lads.
Great video as always though well done
"even elephants eat peanuts" small baits catch big feeeesh 😊
@alanrtment porter They bloody do, and the pooh the bloody shells on your foot, ask any Indian?
I was wondering, would you guys mind doing a totally awesome video on pocket/pen rods please.
Great fish !,,,!,!, ,,!!
What rod was Richard using with a 6lb mainline
another great video guys, just a quick one, on the waggler were you fishing the meat on a hair rig ? or straight to the hook ?
Straight on the hook. If you used a hair rig with the hook exposed you would probably snag the river bed.
Taf I do beach fishing on the isle of wight I wamt to make my own rigs but only want to buy one pack of hooks to save money. What hook size is best allround for shore fishing
Somewhere from 2/0 to 4/0 would be a good average for general shore fishing.Depends on your size of baits
Hi Lewis, I found your question interesting . I think you would be better going a bit smaller to a size 2 or even 4 in the summer. It's worth investing a couple of quid for different sizes up to 2/0. I like sakuma hooks, IMO they stay sharper longer. Great video as always TAF, legends!

that bloke that came in for meat never even paid lol come onnn hahah
What is the reel you have been using?. I like the sound of it and if I'm right Graeme likes it from a previous video due to its smoothness.
Tok 4000.Occasionally line goes round back of spool and line clip protrudes on the spool edge which also snags the line. But you are right. We still like them, and love the tinkly drags.Sound like an old school alarm clock.
I'm a beginner fisher who fishes on the river dee in wales I was wondering what the best set up and baits would be
Thanks
Don't know the river, but there should be a local tackle shop that can tune you in to the best rigs, baits and techniques.
I fish the river dee mate also in Wales. Drop me a message mate or a text 07804254778 :)
Luncheon meat chopping machines, has the world gone mad??? Delighted to see Plumrose is still a thing, always rated it as the best brand 35 years ago.
Hi guys can you do more sea fishing in the uk, pier fishing etc..
Stay tuned, we have one coming VERY soon!
thanks guys
Hi ! Where is this awesome fishery ? Who is the owner of this water ? Tell me please !
Which species haven't you caught in the uk
Tax could you do a video on how to make boilies please
Don't need to cut a full tin at just one size - can cut the tin of meat into say 3 pieces, then cut 3 different sizes!!
Nice
wild brown trout fishing pleasee
Where do you live like what country is it England ?
England is correct, but wouldn't mind Bermuda.
Love barbel
can fish at method feeder with luncheon meat?
+Florin Stenicica You could try but I think the meat would get crushed and break off the hook.
Hmmm so this is only for float fishing ? what if i put it on a hair rig ?
+Florin Stenicica I guess you could hair rig it for floatfishing, though I have never heard of that.More for legering I feel.
+TAFishing I mean on a method feeder to hair rig it :D !
My pb carp 14lb 6 was on method and meat and a big chunk.
It ain't bad living here 😊
Ya know
when i go to NJ pike vids help,my profile pic is proof
it is a chod hook
I don't like using keepnet on a river
£1.50 for a tin of Plumrose - tidy profit!
