  • How to float fish a river has always been a request for The Totally Awesome Fishing Show. And in this AWESOME episode, Graeme & son Mike Pullen get the footage big time!! They film an epic 45 minute show covering some of the traditional float fishing techniques and tips that Graeme has used to great effect when working on his many fishing articles. This father and son team get so many fish they should carry a "008 - License to catch!" And who would have thought you could get Grayling on the feed using just bread and bran. This is the longest, full length film the "Awesome" team have ever uploaded to UA-cam - and judging by the massive rise in their subscribers list, it seems every angler wants to get a piece of the 'free to watch' action. They are the leading light in all-round fishing and the Totally Awesome Fishing Show now has a dedicated cult following of anglers keen to catch all species. It's straight, raw fishing tips and techniques - so when is the next episode? And what will they catch??

    I do like this fella.
    I started fishing again after 27yrs and things have changed since I fished as a lad.
    This man talks my language, what you might call.. Bollocks free speak !
    Fishing how it should be without all the commercial rubbish and the first thing I did when I started up again was make my own floats. For me that's part of the alchemy of it. Superb video guys.. much appreciated :0)

    No, I don't use the method feeder on a river, its for stillwaters really. In fact I don't use it all really, just my own techniques. Glad you like the Show. More coming. Tell others. Lots still don't know of all the info and films we put up.

  • @TAFishing
    @TAFishing  11 років тому +1

    I usually start to shot the Avon bodied floats with bb then maybe add number 6 if I want it lower in the water. Don't forget a heavy bait like a lobworm will often pull the float too deep, so with big baits you might want to under-shot it to allow for the bait's weight

    Thanks for the back-pat.We work really hard on the episodes and a lot goes into the editing, so keep spreading the word about the show, we are already aiming to take over the planet as the biggest fishing show ever. Two more new films done just hours ago, so plenty more to come !!

    You can't fish in the close season .We filmed this episode last season,then held it back to give everyone a "boost" if they had the close season blues. Of course we probably made it worse as every time we watch it we want June 16th to come round quicker ! You can't beat good river fishing with a float.Its awesome. More brand new films coming.Watch the time ticker on our website.(Double smiley face !!)

    Tried them ages ago. Said no money, go away and find a sponsor, they might then consider it.So I did find a sponsor...ME ! we put them on UA-cam so everyone can tap into them 24/7 .Better than TV ,with programmes that only get the occasional repeat. With the "Tube" you can watch your favourite programme any time you want. I rarely watch TV now(Except for the weather, and that's never good)

    • @FishingWithAce
      @FishingWithAce 3 роки тому +2

      @@jonharry6293 True :) but not anglers. We still have net fishermans in our country which are fishing also for fish like roaches and breams. They are the main reason there is not a lot of good size fish in Poland. Our politics are exporting most of the fish to the foregin countrys. I know there is a lot of anglers who are eating everything they catch - thats crazy, but most of us are proud C&R entusiasts.

    I guess some are stocked,but there is a natural head of wild browns right throughout the Hampshire Avon. Most rivers would be unable to support a big head of large trout as insects alone would not be enough protein to make them grow big.They would burn more energy chasing an insect than they would derive in protein

    Ideally you want the bait just tripping the bottom, or about 6 inches off. The current is slower near the river bed than on the surface, so easier for the fish to hold position. They don't want to fight extra current, so you need to put your bait right in their zone.

  • @TAFishing

    I would stick with the barbless, the main thing is to keep your line tight at all times. Get a good disgorger to help get the hook out. If they are new hooks they should be sharp enough to catch.

    Mostly a Masterpike by Ryobi. Very old, been broken and mended twice. Still catching I'm not a tackle tart as you'll see from the various films !! I work on the old principle, if its not broke...don't mend it. Good luck.

    That's why I opted out of clubs, they generally have more rules than fish in the water ! Mind you a lot of day ticket venues have gone the same way. So I know where you are coming from. Sea fishing can be great fun, you just get bait and go !! A lot less hassle. Some fisheries seem to want your custom, but I'm sure they lose business by having too many "can't use" rules. Way of the modern world I'm afraid. I expect some people will want to ban our fishing show for giving out too many tips soon !
