Thank you! They’re pretty similar as far as working on them. I’ll say the c5 in this case because the transmission cooler on this car was kind of a pain!
You have the shift linkage disconnected correct? The rod that goes from the transmission to the shifter box can hold you up. If that’s disconnected, the other thing that can generally hold it up is alignment. Try adjusting whatever jack you’re using for the transmission and torque tube in small increments and just try wiggling it. Also, be sure that you have every bolt out…I know it’s a stupid suggestion but we’ve all been there and missed a thing or two. There are 8 bolts that hold the transmission to the torque tube. Let me know if you have any luck.
@@automotivechaos shift linkage is disconnected and have all the bolts out for the trans I have no issues, minutes away from dropping the whole thing now.
@@clayyng only other thing would be to try and and play around with the height of the transmission and torque tube. If it’s hanging on the torque tube, or push up to far it’ll get caught up on the alignment dowels, or the input shaft.
@@jacejenkins1353 no, this is a 6 speed. Automatic is going to have a few more plugs to disconnect, torque converter bolts, and a shift cable. The rest of the procedure should be pretty similar.
This is a ton of information. A must watch if you’re doing this job yourself at home. Nice job.
Thank you, hope this helps some people out.
That's an awfully nice corvette. Is this a new staple of the channel? Are we getting more videos on it?
It was, until it hit a parked car. This one is getting parted out unfortunately.
Came here from your C5 video! 🔥 Which car do you prefer working on?

To the point where it should come out but the trans is not coming apart from the torque tube any ideas before I just pull it all as one?

@@automotivechaos she’s out !
@clayyng good stuff man, what did the trick?
Is this a automatic? If it’s not would it be the same process?
