How did you do it on your tv
jungleboyjayy 4L I unplugged the cord from the back of the tv, not the wall. Then I waited like 5 minutes, plugged it back into the TV and it turned on.
I have a smart HD TV it's been doing this since I changed the batteries I done what you said but the stand by light is on but won't turn on .

My Philips tv dates back all the way back to 2008 and the red dots been there for a couple years now, it was until I found this video I fixed it, worked like a charm, thank you man!

Worked this our for ourselves and it worked for the first few times but no longer. This was Panasonic model TC-50AS660C bought 2015. TV's bought in 2009 still going strong.

If it doesn't work it typically means there is a problem with either the power board or the media control board. The power board is usually the capacitors which wan be checked with a volt meter if that's working correctly it's the media board.
You can order new boards easily online.
However this trick works if it's just a case of getting stuck in standby mode which happens. Dont ask me why

This is correct. My tv was in standby and ordered a new mainboard was $85 and it worked.

My TV has a red light whenever it's connected to the wall, but when I turn it on it usually starts flashing and then turns on. But now it just has a steady red light and won't turn on but shows it has power

I have a Panasonic viera plasma I tried your instructions, but unfortunately it didn't work. Any other ideas? 8/23/2020 thank you
Maybe try unplugging the tv power cord ends from BOTH the back of the tv and from the wall outlet.....Wait at least 5 minutes, then plug the cord into the back of the tv and then into the wall outlet and wait at least 5 minutes before you turn on the tv....Good luck!

Do you know anything about a Panasonic Viera plasma TV model number TC-P50U1 with the red light blinking 10 times?
Hi... Did you try unplugging the power cord (from both ends) from the tv & from the wall outlet?....Leave the cord unplugged for 5 minutes....Plug the cord into the rear of tv & plug the other end into the wall outlet....Wait at least 60 seconds (you might hear several "clicks").... Turn on the tv...Hopefully it works....It worked on my Philips Plasma....Good luck!

Problem is this method doesn’t last forever. The capacitors go bad and bulge. Then the tv won’t ever turn on.

Kooper Thompson ... once you "reset" the tv, the red light will go away and you'll have the normal blue light.

What if the red light is not flashing? Unplugging & replugging turns the red light back on but no blue light

My led standby red light does not working for convert on green light.. led not show green light indicate why
Same problem i got the tv of me mate if its just on red just kep your finger on the button by the side of the tv it mighy make loads of blue clicking noise but eventually it slows down to about 3 the just hit the power on the remote you might wait a bit or get it in a few minutes like a old car lol i got 42 inch for nothing because me mate was pissed of but i took it like a light its in me room i look out the window press it one or twice while having a spliff

Then it's not the power cord the problem it's the power board you'll have to buy a new one for like 26$ on Ebay or Amazon and fix it yourself

LG tv turns on but red light still flashing but not making clicking noise like a clock with each flash now. Tv 3yrs old but have only had on maybe 1yr due to cable being off. Thought maybe flashing was due to bad lightening storm last week but it never stopped turning on.
Try unplugging power cord from the back of the tv and from the wall outlet...Wait 30 seconds to 1 minute and see if you hear any "clicks"

@@beachtroll8344 thank you. I did unplug it overnight. I plugged it back in behind tv and then into power source. I then turned it on and same red blinking light. (Urrgg) The tv is 12 years old so maybe it's time. I took the guestroom flat screen and swapped hanging brackets and back to normal. So hard to throw this amazing tv away tho. Remember when 3D home TVs came out? Right around the time Avatar movie was released. I bought 2 55 inch tvs. One for me and one for my son. He got 3d. I preferred regular. Ok I'm rambling. When I plug it back in, the green light turns on for about a few minutes with a black screen then starts blinking red. I tried this and it still does the same thing. Any suggestions?

duhhh...the electrolytic capacitors have dried out in the power supply....this is not a fix...its just a frantic one more go attempt....it will just fail again...samsung are the worst for it

What does it mean if I have done this, all goes ok for a while then it happens again. I repeat the process then it happens again. I am lucky I have a spare tv so I swapped them over. I can't keep unplugging it every half hour or so.
It keeps going into "standby" mode...If you can, try leaving it unplugged from the wall outlet for 24 hours and see if that helps.
