Thanks again for your videos👍 I went to Xi'an Eatery with my daughter for Father's Day. We went back to Burwood today for lunch at a different restaurant. This vid is local for me. I grew up in Rooty Hill and now live around the corner from Doonside. I also went to a Phillopino bakery today for the first time and an ensaymada👌
I grew up in Rooty Hill too, lots of Filo's in Rooty Hill, Plumpton, Kingston Estate, Oakhurst. Good times playing basketball in Kingston. Great memories for me. No longer there but now around the Pendle Hill area.
I miss starlight bakery at doonside, always had my fill of pandesal and Filipino baked goodies! at the street corner you can also have a taste of Halo Halo, try it sometime!
How did your Filipino friends forget to mention the iconic Lazza in Marrickville 🤦🏼♀️ Never will you eat sisig, lechon kawali and crispy pata anywhere else again and their service is outstanding!! Food always on point. Actually it deserves its own review video just saying 🥰
I love your food tours. Thank you for featuring Filipino food. Have not been to Pamana and looks like my cravings for pancit luglog will finally be satisfied. Keep up the good work. You're presenting style is on point.
Lime, lemon, or the more popular in the Philippines, calamansi, usually comes with these Filipino dishes because some dishes may become a little bit salty for others, so squeezing some will naturally tone down the saltiness. Depending on who eats, they can adjust it to how salty they want it to be. However, if it's not available, rice is always to the rescue, they blend with the saltiness, so yeah, we love rice😂 (But many Filipinos simply love the sourness, no reasons added😉)
Very professional presenting and camerawork! Easiest subscription I've ever made! Also, really smart idea with the AUD/US price conversions. Just extremely impressed all around by this!
Love the video! It randomly popped up on my reccomended and glad i watched it. The original pandesal is my favourite and goes so well with condensed milk ontop 😁
In the Philippines we usually cook lechon from prep to actual cooking in less time and we cook the entire pig. Usually the pig is slaughtered early in the morning before the sun rises and stuffed with spices and rest for a few hours. They’ll spit roast it so it will be ready by lunch or dinner. They also wipe the skin with a mixture of coke, soysauce and spices. They say it’s to make it crispy but idk if there’s some truth to that. Gives the pig a brownish color before roasting though. The advantage of the normal method is you’ll experience the authentic lechon skin. Its very brittle unlike the usual lechon they sell outside the country. The advantage of how sydney cebu lechon the flavor permeates through the whole piece of meat. In the ones where the whole pig is roasted the parts away from the belly tends to be bland specially in really big pig.
That roast pork! everytime we go to Filipino restaurant, we always order everything pork haha. soo good! And of course Halo-halo...best one! the skewers looks delicious too, we should try Mama Lor, never been there.
I suggest you try the best burger in Western Sydney located in Marsden Park Business Park, called "Burger Point" with a filipino taste, be early because it is always a long queque, they serve chickens wings as well and halo halo to mention..

the highlight of lechon is the crispy skin. The version of lechon in my city we use gravy sauce made of liver or we use mang tomas sauce instead.
