Alabama issue is the same as 99% of other schools. Basically it is a money issue, as school are extending big money to players and recruits. Without financial restrictions, college football is broke.
We are NOT concerned. DeBoer COULD be a legacy hire. 2007, (Saban's first year), ended with a 7-6 record. Was anybody screaming? No. We are not concerned with Freeze. Not even a little bit.
Okay! Just because little brother had a good recruiting year and got some good portal.players, they're gonna dominate BAMA. Yea right! Maybe in 2025 they'll improve on their 5-7 record and make a bowl game.
This is not new news and On3 knows it. Which player did Alabama sign that anyone thinks they should have bypassed for which player on the list? Offord is the only possible "take" for Alabama on that list compared to who they brought in. And even at CB, they got Lee and McDonald... who may turn out to be better.
It is a concern but not as much as it once was with NIL and especially the portal. I’ll ask you a question. How relevant now are NSD class rankings given the hyperbolic increase in attrition from the portal wherein numerous players may transfer as early as a few months after they are signed? Moreover, additions from the portal can enhance a team’s roster substantially regardless of how they stood on NSD. It seems logical that recruiting rankings should be fluid, reevaluated annually based on who is on the current roster by class.
This was Kalens first year following a proven winner in Nick Saban. The same thing happened at UCLA when John Wooden retired. I believe it was Gene Bartell that followed Wooden. He had a winning season but failed to win the national championship. He left after a couple of years. What people said about him was absolutely cruel, over a game. Kalen needs to win like crazy while getting recruits to believe that they will win.
Hugh Freeze had a full year head start on Kalen Deboer's staff. AU prioritized the state and did a good job with building relationships. But it's not a concern at all. Bama recruits nationally. Also, there were some instate kids KD's staff did not prioritize due to fit / scheme. Essentially AU only beat Bama for 2 kids that Bama really wanted. Signing a top 3 class in year one is outstanding. This staff seems to be great with their evaluations. Keelon Russell is a great example. Bama got in on him early, before he became a 5 star. Also they've done very well in the portal. That won't get a lot of press because they simply don't have room to take many. But the guys they took in the portal fill needs and priorities well. The Program is still healthy and is very likely to stay that way.
If those players are better than what we have it would certainly be a problem but just trying out bid Auburn for players won't work anyway, I've reserved myself to let Debore have the benefit to build the team his way, hopefully it's results in winning culture, if not he'll be on the way out of Tuscaloosa
This past year, DeBoer was working with mostly Saban recruits. Do you really think it will get better for DeBoer after losing 3 games this year? Not being negative- just honest and realistic. For DeBoer to make it at Alabama, he better do better than he did this year! He doesn’t have to be Saban II, but he has to be a winner and he hasn’t shown that ability this year.
I know you said you are not “trying to be a hot take” but please. There are good players in other states other than Alabama. Take a look at On3’s national recruiting rankings. Where does Alabama land? Give DeBoer and staff time to develop relationships in Alabama and you will likely see Alabama get its fair share. Heck, it got Zyan Gibson from Gadsden today. The Tide will be just fine to the chagrin of oh so many.
This is ridiculous. Alabama has the number 2 recruit class in the nation. You do that by getting the best players no matter where they may play high school football. Alabama has players from Finland. Australia, Canada, and Germany. Please stop this tired narrative. Alabama is a worldwide brand!
@ Florida finished 8-5 with a brutal schedule, LSU finished 8-4 (so far), which isn’t horrible. A&M finished 8-4 (so far) with a new head coach, new OC, and new DC. This is coming from a 5-7 season and losing 30 people in the transfer portal last year.. I’d say we’re doing alright. Yea, it would be nice to beat Texas. It would do well recruiting. But seeing that Texas is going to play at Ohio State in 2025, at Florida, at Georgia, AND against a much better Oklahoma and A&M, I’d say they have a much harder path than this year.
I guess all BAMA fans are suppose to panic, because little brother had a good recruiting year. I'm sure Mr. Yellawood dished out a majority of the NIL money. Who cares. Good for them. As I recall Auburn has had several top ten classes over the last ten years. Therefore, why are they struggling now? Maybe you can answer that Bro'.
All of the players in Alabama’s number 2 recruit class have already signed. Some are even practicing with the team in the practices for the bowl game even though they cannot play in the game.
I think Bama is fine. DeBoer needs a good passer that can read the defense and be effective in the passing game. While Milroe was a great runner, his passing skills were very inconsistent. He definitely was not a Michael Penix. The SEC is going to be tough no matter how well you recruit. It's a new era with NIL and portal.
I don't think it matters. NIL changed everything. There will never be another Saban/One big dog in the yard again. That era is over. NIL will get regulated and put caps in place etc. Eventually it will become an NFL-like system and have more balance which will restrict all the best players from going to the top 4 or 5 programs. It's just not there yet. But, LOTS of schools have jumped up massively in recruiting bc of NIL.
Alabama issue is the same as 99% of other schools. Basically it is a money issue, as school are extending big money to players and recruits. Without financial restrictions, college football is broke.
On3 recruiting rankings: 2. Bama, 3. Oregon, 6. Auburn. Looks like Bama is recruiting just fine.
Helps when they have all that money.
And TJ said that, just not recruiting their state "just fine"
Exactly!!
Considering alabama has the #2 recruiting class. Id say, I'm glad we didnt get those receuits.

I'm in shock Cotton

I don’t know anyone who gives a flip
Then this video isn’t for you. Maybe it is for a different fan base
A&M is #7.
Gig’Em! 👍🏻
Maybe beat a real team sometime.
@ LSU isn’t a real team? Or Florida? Hmm. Crazy
@@JohnBustt Florida was trash this year and LSU was not as good as they usually are. But I hope you beat Texas next year that would be nice

Hey Bro'! 28-14 Roll Tide
Some won’t sign, because they know who is in front of them. The goal is to start as soon as possible. The NFL is the ultimate prize 🏈
All of the players in Alabama’s number 2 recruit class have already signed. Some are even practicing with the team in the practices for the bowl game even though they cannot play in the game.
I think it’s a concerning, but nothing to scream about….yet
Bama had a top class last year and still lost to VANDY! 😂😂😂
So did Auburn! 🤣🤣
Penix started over 50 games sure that makes a difference
So you are saying if Milroe comes back for another season it would be different?
I don't think it matters. NIL changed everything. There will never be another Saban/One big dog in the yard again. That era is over. Major concern and Deboer better get his head out of his ass and stoke relationships with in state HS coaches!
You do know he just got to Alabama this year right. Hugh Freeze been here recruiting. Deboar will build these relationships
The portal and nil have totally ruined college football period.
Still better than Florida st
When it comes to NIL and this New Era of Pay-2-Play, if you are NOT.......the State of Texas......you can't hang. ALL THE MONEY IS IN TEXAS.
What if what if Bama, you are reaching
