Hearing you say how you were excited for 2020 LARP and then seeing the time stamp on this video is heartbreaking. I'm there with you, but hopefully 2021 will be better!

@@OurAdventuringParty If it's any consolation, your videos have been a huge help for me getting started in LARP. I joined my first game November of last year, and we just wrapped for the season. I made a lot of friends, got some great story going in my downtimes, and I'm excited to get back at it in August.

Oh, yeah. I play a character that was inspired by the Varangian Guard. In the setting is a nation (Carnis) of viking-themed warriors (the Carnites), who's navy we just REKT in the finale. At character creation, I didn't necessarily like the skill combo I'd get as a Carnite, so I chose to be an exile because those class skills were more inline with what I wanted in my character. Through play, I joined Mon'Durin, a nation of mostly healers, because they needed more muscle and I liked their healthcare benefits. At the finale, before having lunch with our king to discuss marching orders for the climatic battle, I officially bent the knee and swore my loyalty to the crown. King James (played by a GM) made me a Soldier of the Realm, while Lord Ulrune and Lady Everthorn (my direct bosses played by players) named me their Man at Arms. I now get like 50 silver a game to follow them around and look tough. OOOOOOOOH! And one of the other characters wants to romance mine. 😍

Really good tips on progressing your characters appearance here. I play at Empire and my allowing myself to turn my character (Talis) from a scruffy look to something more refined and even a bit fancy over time has been a really useful part of his evolution as a character and story telling. I find that thinking of your clothing more as clothing and less like a costume really helps as well. Really awesome video! :)

Awesome video! Conveniently enough I’m actually gonna be making a video about layering soon. My main has like a million bagillion layers lol

May I ask, you mentioned hanging a necklace from your belt if it doesn't look good around your neck, so I was wondering, what other kinds of things that you would never think of look good on a belt sometimes?
