Thanks for watching! And be sure to check out the affiliate links if you want to pick any of these up! Also, I did not include the Boulder 'n' Tray in this line up because I was forcusing on the basic box in this video. No frills for me! But I have a video on that linked in the description! ALSO: I do not recommend throwing your Boulders at walls, standing on them, dropping them, on purpose.
This is my first time seeing one of your videos and I enjoyed the conversational tone! I'm still just starting out when it comes to gathering deckboxes, but I aspire to have enough to build forts with. I will say though, I was the teensiest bit let down when you discussed the crack on the 133+ and then didn't follow it up with either a filled-up drop test or an empty 80+ huck test! LOL
Take some rubbing alcohol and an old sock to them to get the rubber stuff off and they get pretty transparent. I do this when the rubber starts getting sticky over time.
Real talk, I avoided boulders for a long time, trying to be a rebel and coolness, but ever since buying my first 60+, I can't imagine keeping my prized decks in anything else. These deck boxes are so cool
7:28 Correction from their website: "Our RTE Boulder is neither degradable nor compostable under domestic or industrial conditions." They are recyclable though and the packaging is more environment friendly
I really wish my lgs carried them; I've tried looking online, and it's hard to find them in stock places there too. Any advice; or did you get yours at lgs?
I was waiting for you to mention the cracking on the 60! About time! XD So ya, I had that issue with like, 7 of them or so, that I bought all around the same time. The first one I bought, which was also black, looks just like the one you should lol. My Solution was to file down the nub that catches so hard, on each and every one of them, and that seemed to do the trick. The annoying thing is it gets that stress crack the moment you open it! Since then, I have bought ONE more, and that one did Not have the issue, so I'm hopeful in thinking, that yes, they did fix it! So whoever out there is interested, they're great, but be aware of this issue!
ha ha ya you did! and ya, I have a lot of them sitting empty right now so im not in a rush to buy more but I'm VERY glad the issue was resolved!@@beyondthedeckbox
Great review. Should have hucked an empty return to earth 60 or 80 at the ground to see if they would break I use boulders for my Netrunner decks (which don’t have sideboards) I usually get boulder+trays for the versatility since they don’t cost too much more
You can fit a commander deck in the 100+ with Dragonshield sleeves with Dragon Shield Perfect Fit inners… …but, it’s a real “kinda just cram it in there” situation the first time. There’s a ton of air when you first double sleeve, and the box will compress things down and I ended up preferring the feel after the air got out of the deck a bit more. However, the first attempt was excruciating.
I think you're right and folks just give up after the first attempt. It's still a bit tight for my taste. KMC perfect fits give just enough extra room that I prefer. But I've had a ton of folks tell me point blank that 100 double sleeved cards do not fit in a boulder, so I felt the need to mention and show that it is possible.
Great breakdown on the Boulders, they are also my favorite deckbox. One question I have is how many tokens are you able to fit (sleeved) in a 100+ when using DS mattes and KMC inners? My problem is I use DS mattes and DS inners and I can’t quite fit an entire commander deck in a 100+, let alone tokens. I don’t quite understand the 133+, I really wish they would’ve released a revised 100+ with just a tad more room, something to compete with the new bastion 100+. I’m honestly not a fan of the bastion, they look and feel a bit cheap in comparison to the boulder imo. Although they do fit 100+ doublesleeved cards with room for tokens and more. Hoping Ultimate Guard releases a revised 100+ soon, perhaps call it a 115+ to convolute their lineup just a tad more, lol. That being said they’d probably have to release a revised arkhive and such and maybe that’s why they haven’t.
hey FDS at 12:30 you show that the cards fit completely flat and I'm now wondering if cards with the Dragon Shield Outer Sleeves would fit sideways into the 133+ boulder and if so wheres the limit?
@@beyondthedeckbox ah yes the name escaped me. I was surprised I didn’t hear you mention that option. I wish they came out with more colors for it there’s only like 5.
I'm not a huge fan of the return to earth boulder, while I've certainly been a sucker for "made from recycled plastics" shtick from growing up in the 90s, the return to earth boulders curve a bit towards the inside on the sides. It's not really a big issue, doesn't effect the cards since the deckbox is wide enough, but it's a mild nitpick to note at least.
The 60+ fits double sleeved cards really well. Both the 60 and 80 seem to be able to hold a few more than the number advertised with double sleeved cards. I prefer the 60+ for my kitchen table decks that don't have a side board and they still have room for tokens. I hope that helps!
Oh so many. Ravnica Guild Kits, Strixhaven Commander Decks, Dr. Who Decks, LOTR Decks, Unsanctioned Box. Those are just the ones with boulders. I also have 2 Jumpstart Boxes, I'm building another LOTR box of archetype decks and an Unfinity archetype battle box. Some people build too many decks, I build too many battle boxes.

Having an 80+ size is a godsend, very rare to find high quality boxes that aren’t strictly catering to Magic.

I just wish they would release more transparent color options, or more finishes in the boulder.

Love the honest review and thorough explanation of everything 👌
Started buying Gamgenic Bastion deck boxes and I don't think I'll go back to a Boulder or Tower any time soon. They are great!

Boulder 100+ Double Sleeving: I use UltraPRO Eclipse with KMC Perfect Fit and have room for 10 tokens bundled in a penny sleeve just fine.
Dragonshield Perfect Fits with Katana’s also work for the 100+ Boulders 👌🏻
I haven't tried that yet! I'll pick up some Dragonshield perfect fits the next time I'm at the game store. Thanks!

I love the 100+ with the bottom for dice. Unlike the satin towers from ultra pro they actually fit the new bloated d20 spin downs from MTG.
The Boulder 'n' Tray is awesome. I love those too!
@@beyondthedeckbox ah yes the name escaped me. I was surprised I didn’t hear you mention that option. I wish they came out with more colors for it there’s only like 5.
The only problem I have is that they don't fit the ultra pro Mini snaps.

I wonder if the blue one cracked because of the biodegradable material. I'm guessing there was some durability sacrificed for the material change.
My issue is I need a mutiple deck solution
then I'd suggest combining a bunch of boulders with an arkhive 400 or 800.
Are we talking 2 or 3 multiple or 4+ multiple?
@FDSMTG 2 or 3.
Does the 60+ fit double sleeved dragon shields, or would i need to get an 80+ instead?
I'm thinking about using them for starter decks

Is there a size that fits 100 unsleeved cards? Do you think the 60+ could work?
60+ definitely would fit 100 unsleeved cards without any trouble. 40+ can hold 96 unsleeved cards but it's tight. Hope that helps!
@@beyondthedeckbox thank you! I guess that would leave space for a bunch a dinosaur tokens then 😅
I love Boulders as well, but my Clear ones are becoming EXTREMELY difficult to open compared to my colored ones that flake. What gives?
Woot
I recall you have the 40k commander decks in one battlebox, but what other battleboxes do you have?
Oh so many. Ravnica Guild Kits, Strixhaven Commander Decks, Dr. Who Decks, LOTR Decks, Unsanctioned Box. Those are just the ones with boulders.
