When I look at Kenzo's floor routines with all those crazy af twists it's unbelievable and he does it so effortlessly on top. He had a such a natural talent for it like he was literally born to do gymnastic! I really wanted him to win at least a gold for the floors in the olympics cuz he really deserved it but anyway he left a great legacy to the sport even though he retired pretty early. When Shannon Miller created the Miller they said it was just the Omelianchik. Now they just give names to skills that have already been created because they add a half turn. Nellie Kim named half the skills after herself. They need to go back and give credit to everyone for their skills. The Omelianchik looks nothing like the Miller.
Exactly. Years of all those insane twisting were obviously too much for his body. Injuries prevented him from doing those skills he once was known for, he finished like 20th and 30th competition after competition and finally he said that's it, it's time to retire. He was only 24.
Agreed. Also if a quadruple back twist was ever performed in WAG it would only be worth a G, which is absurd. The CoP is so unfair and inconsistent. They only reward back tumbling, not twisting or front.
He was consistently scoring in the 16s and dominating on floor until the Rio Olympics where the judges suddenly decided to give him a silent -1.0 penalty for no reason at all pushing him out of the podium.
Why the hell did they downgrade elements that only less than a handful of human beings can perform? I hate the FIG for their stupid scoring system, especially in WAG.
No shade intended but I'm really not seeing it as a full twist onto the table in the Shirai III. I've watched it several times in slow motion and it usually looks like a half or 3/4 twist.

I can’t believe the Shirai III on vault is rated so low? It’s so intricate and technical!
Yeah I think it should be raised to 5.6 seeing as it has the same number of twists from start to finish as the Shirai I (Yurchenko triple).

He’s such clear example of what a human being can accomplish with hard work and the right talent. I am in awe of his control! He twists so fast.
I cried when Shiarai was not selected for olympics or worlds on his home town.... he deserved to dominate competition in front of home crowd

We honestly just need Kenzo to come back as an UB specialist
the shirai III on vault looks absolutely brutal on his knees in those clips!
Kenzo is so amazing, aside from his pretty face he is also very humble. I want to see him again in the podium. Where is he btw?
The triple double laid out is just obscene. How that is even physically possible is beyond me.
A female athlete can also do that
