@@motoz30 Fair enough. More a matter of personal preference, I guess. If others talk about Coan, I think I appreciate it more than him talking about himself.
Yeah Chuck doesn't say a whole lot I knew him when I was younger but there's nothing wrong with being proud of what you've accomplished so when people say the grades don't brag about what they've done that's just not true you ever heard Bill kazmaier talk lol he does nothing but brag about how great he is and he is probably the strongest man that ever lived so there's nothing wrong with knowing you're good at something
There are more images of Bigfoot than the mythic Chuck V. Unbelievable. Could have listened to these legends for hours. Thank you Marcus, Dom, Tom and Chuck V for making the time.
I'm really really glad Chuck V has a (very tentative) online presence. He has so much knowledge to share with the younger generation of lifters, even though he might not be comfortable with the whole thing, I'm very glad he has chosen to bite the bullet. Missed my opportunity to go to Ohio and meet Lou, I'm not gonna do the shame with Chuck.
I feel like it would be something like: never take a day off, train everyday to get better, make no limitations on your success, individual success leads to team success, embrace change, no one person is more important than the team, the leader is always the best/most talented individual, never give too much praise, culture is based on high performance.
Legendary podcast. The amount of lessons each story has is incredible. Louie was a man of many talents and a true leader. Thanks to the four horsemen for sharing these stories.

Tom thanks for putting this together it is great to hear from some of the legends of not only Westside but of the powerlifting world. Keep the great content coming.
The love and admiration these guys all have for one another is the best. Watching and listening to them BSing and laughing together, this is some of the best content I've ever seen. Thanks guys!
Chuck is a living LEGEND!! I only saw him compete once in person and his intensity was insane!! His last deadlift I think the judges gave him because he was screaming at them at the lockout!!
Thank you very much for doing this podcast and creating this content. So many of us grew up being influenced by Westside Barbell, Louie Simmons, and his high performing athletes. I look forward to you having more of the legends on these podcasts. Thank you to these for men for taking the time to pay tribute to Louie and Westside with this information, entertainment and inspiration.
Just like every other sport, Chuck is truly a legend of this sport. I feel you could not put a dollar value on the knowledge, experience and stories he has. It’s almost to the point of emotional seeing him speak like this. I’ve searched for every clip and video I could find just see a couple more seconds of him lifting. I wonder if he realizes how much he is idolized. If he were to begin coaching or even start a podcast or something…the demand would be endless. Appreciate you Chuck. You’re such a huge influence and inspiration and will continue to be for generations to come.
I had no idea that Dominic went to westside and somehow we got on the topic of power lifting and he found out that I loved the conjugate system and just watching all of this was really coo. I just wish that somehow I would have been in West side bar bell at the time that Louie was still alive rest in peace! Indeed the four horsemen! Woo
I grew up with Dom and in some ways with Chuck as we grew up on the Westside and went to school together (1 grade apart). I have always considered Dom's family, my second family. Dom got me started lifting, taught me everything and has always been an awesome inspiration to me. Marcus, what memories we had going out to the Elephant Bar and Baby Does!? I felt safe and in danger at the same time with all of you monsters!!!😁 I had the pleasure to get to know Louie through Dom. He had a way of instantly gaining great respect from all who knew him in all aspects of his life, even outside of the gym.
Doms Father Dialogue wit Louie cracked me, bwahahaha. What an awesome podcast. I actually think this turned into a perfect funeral feast with all that anecdotes and just memorizing and laughing. So enjoyable to watch.
Unreal podcast!! All of them have been awesome so far but this one really took the cake. Cant wait for the next!! Would love to also see the female perspective of training at Westside from some of the woman legends.
Our aim is to have more conversations like this with more and more members! So hopefully with enough comments like yours they will all be on board to do a round 2!
@@WestsideBarbellOfficial that would be awesome, the one with coe and gritter was awesome too, the videos need to be made its like never printing history books if they take all their knowledge and stories to the grave.
Wow! Nice! Yo Tom! I worked out with Tom at Blasters. Great times! I lifted for a while at Weat Side too. I remember the peg board in the back room and how disorientating it was to squat looking at that stuff!! And that crazy belt squat you had to chain up and waddle over the hole and hope you didn’t miss a rep! I coulda been great but Tom used to steal my power! He knows what that means. Great podcast. I never met Chuck but I did know Dom and Marcus. Great hearing from them!
Hearing these guys talk takes me back . I dated Don Damron around 92’. I worked out in the westside in demorest because I was a ring girl for kick boxing and chucks wife Jill used to cut my hair . I lived one street over from that gym on demorest . I have tons of stories too but prolly none I can tell online lol 😂 it was intense in there to say the least and if u didn’t have any business in that place then u were quickly put out .
