Here I was, thinking on how one of my favorite podcasts to hear was Louie talking about training and how sad it was that there would be no more. This made my heart warmer.
He was always thinking of ways to get stronger, and would help anyone who asked. I was stuck at a 300 bench weighing 157. He invited me to westside for a few months working my triceps constantly. Within 18 months I was knocking on the door of 400. Never asked me for nothing in return. He just wanted me to get stronger.
@@handsforwarrodneymorgan2616tricep work at westside is mainly a shit ton of extensions/pushdowns with dumbbells, ez bars and cables. They also do a lot of close grip presses
I've lived 2 and a half hours from westside my whole life. One time years ago, Im in Columbus for a job training, call westside, "yeah come on in, 8am" Im like 23 yrs old, stoked, but it didnt work out with the work schedule. Thought oh well Ill come back for this. Never did. I regret it so much now. I love listening to Louie. I really wish I couldve had a conversation with that guy. He seemed so genuine with wanting to help people. Anyone. I hope Westside keeps that attitude in the years to come.
Thank you for creating and releasing this content by Louie. This is great information and helpful. This truly is the spirit of Louie and Westside Barbell.❤
Louie simmons is my personal coach. Never met him never spoke to him. But i listen to him all the time. Louie swam in waters in 99/ cant even see the bottom of." The Hardest thing to do is change"
Re: briefs. Took me a while to work this out but as a smaller lifter I’ve found if I use briefs for DE I need to do some form of belt squatting (or just raw squatting) to keep and add muscle mass/strength otherwise I seem to become more technically proficient in the gear but it’s offset by a loss of strength and my numbers stay the same lol.
Westside , best side ! You need to make louie simmons shirts . Pictures of him with his shades and mustache . Also list his lifts You can also do a long sleeve shirt with his tatoos on the shirt . Make a couple rip shirts in his memory . He loved that people "took his dog to the gym" when wearing a westside shirt. Maybe its time we all take a piece of louie with us to the gym with us
Why did he have no biceps? Blown patella (knee) broken back he healed and what else? I'd like to breath well. As I listen to his labored breaths I think of his saying his focus was primarily his neck? His esgs with good morning reps sound nice though. His obliques are a part of good mornings? Ok... I just need to learn. I'll start with good mornings.

Sounds like Louie is telling the weather for the week 😂🙏
Did I hear right he suggested using 80-90 percentages on speed days? That doesn't seem right to me is why I'm asking.
Treasure chest full of knowledge
