I like how, in the 1st mission, the only units available to you are hard, HARD countered by the heirarchy turrets. As for the virus, it's a bit crap at baseline. Slows them down a touch, reveals them on the map. With the proper research it gets better, but hey, campaign, so no research for you. Maybe that will unlock later on, I can't recall.
