I know that Esme didn't have anyone to call a "friend" in Port Charles by the time she went "died", but Kevin seems like the sort to do something like that. Maybe even Elizabeth added something small. Just a theory.

This episode of gh was really unbelievable gh writers made Spencer’s memorial about everyone but him. Trina was barely there in this episode and Heather Webber carrying on like esme was a victim was ridiculous. Kevin pretending he cared about his niece was stupid as well the whole year she lived with him and Laura he was never in scenes with her and never stepped in to help guide his niece to make better decision's. 🤣😂

If that is true, they are allowed, under certain circumstances, “Day Passes.” (Hers would definitely be supervised.) Also, even in prison, inmates (not on Death Row) are allowed to attend the funerals for immediate family members (Parents and/or Children only). However, someone must pay the price of security, which is provided by the DOC. In cash. In advance.
I have a feeling Esme will be back someday. Esme has fallen from a high spot into cold water twice before so I think this time will be no exception. She’s a survivor like both her parents. Soap villains tend to be survivors.
I understand why Spencer said to Trina his life would be a shade of grey without her when he was in Springridge because this funeral was COLD! Dante, his cousin didn’t acknowledge him. Sonny said about one sentence about him, then spent the rest of the time talking with Dante about himself. Spencer is a complex character, but the funeral had a mocking tone about it. They didn’t mention he died saving Trina's life. Except for Ava and Cam, none of Spencer's family even acknowledged Trina at the funeral. After 2 memorials ( done well) to celebrate the work of actors who actually died (Sonny Eddy and Jackie Zeman), why even do this? NAC is going to return. The Paris trip was romantic, but why use death instead of something better to explain his departure?
Exactly !! That whole memorial service and Spencer’s departure in Paris felt rushed, unimaginative, and sloppy. Trina should’ve had more airtime to showcase her POV with how she’s dealing with the sudden loss of her soulmate. We as fans would’ve loved to see how she deals with grief and to see more of Spencer’s family support her. The writers don’t understand that they’re doing a disservice to these beloved characters.
Writers should of had Nicholad there if they let Heather out for Esme her daughter why couldnt Nicholads get out to grieve Spencer his sons death (Even know we know he will teturn after his netflex movie) to reunite with Trina later on but not fair For Nicholad Csdadine not to get out of jail to attend like Heather 😂😂😂❤

I’m so sick of Elizabeth’s actions being whitewashed. She didn’t keep Nikolas from killing Esme. Telling the POLICE where Esme was and that Nikolas was holding her hostage would have saved Esme. Liz was right: she helped Nikolas because she wanted Esme to suffer the way Cam suffered. It’s infuriating when characters are finally insightful about themselves and tell the truth and then someone else comes along and says, “Oh, no. You didn’t do a bad thing.”
