I like those Disney Masters hardcovers. Might have to get those. It's cool you still collect trades cause now I got to see x factor, mutant x and gambit complete collection. No one else I watch has these books. And thank you for these close ups of the artwork.
The End League and Black Hammer looks interesting. It's on my list now! Thanks, Omar. And because I'm commenting in 2020, i got the X-Men: Grand Design omni.
Great books, Omar! I got a ton of things, too, including the Super Sons Omnibus and the Absolute Killing Joke! And I upgraded Watchmen to the Deluxe Edition hardcover!
Hey Omar, nice haul! I'm fighting a cold but I'll power through. Once again you have me reaching for my wallet. I'd been on the fence about getting Mutant X and the X-Factor All New All Different trades but you've convinced me to go for it. I'm DROOLING over getting the Marvel Conan Omni next month!!! So much goodness is going to be in that volume. I'm also looking forward to the next Fantastic Four video from you. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and I hope you all have a Happy New Year. #OmarRules
I'm so sorry to hear that, brother and on New Years Eve too. I hope it's not too serious. Those trades are great. I really want one day to own all the X-titles in collected editions format. Happy New Year, brother and I also cannot wait for that Conan omnis. :)
@@NearMintCondition Gee that Michael Dust is a swell guy, huh? Omar, you couldn't get me to read a Bendis book even with a gun to my head. I checked out on that bozo after "House Of M". From what I hear he's doing a (sarcasm on) great job (sarcasm off) on those Superman books for DC. I read that he just retconned Geoff Jones AND Richard Donner in his latest issue. Of course, those two are a couple hacks compared to the god that is Bendis, right? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Comic Book Crazy the day is coming when we are going to have to read more Bendis in Old Reader/New Readers..... it’s going to hurt :) although his Miles Morales was damn good and fun.
I hate you and love you at the same time Omar! I love you for having such great taste in your choice of reading material and the glowing descriptions you have for these collections.I hate you for getting me into more stuff that I shouldn't be getting into. I found a copy of Transformers Phase 2 volume 1 at my bookstore and bought that after hearing your reading order of Phase 2. Then I picked up my first Manga Citrus volume 1. I don't know why I chose that book. Maybe because it kind of reminded me of the Katchoo/Francine dynamic from SiP. So now you've gotten my to buy Transformers, The Duck books, and Manga. Between all the other good stuff you rave about I've picked up because of you and now the stuff I want from this current haul( Gigantic, The End League, The Waid FF). I'm never going to catch up on my backlog..lol. You're the best Omar!
I completely understand what you mean. I'm so glad I could at least peak your interest in some of the titles. :) I feel like I can never catch up too :)
That Dale Keown art on Hulk in that X-Factor TPB is so damn good. (I've been getting the Epic collections and prior to that the Marvel Visionaires Peter David collections of his and Keown's work on Hulk, also have all the issues in my long boxes somewhere.) Keown left Marvel to do Pitt and seems to have vanished other than some cover work here and there after the, what, 8 or 9 issues of Pitt he produced. Shame as I really loved his art. And I agree that John Byrne was a big influence on Keown. His really early indie comic work at Aircel was even more heavily Byrne influenced.
@@NearMintCondition Look at the differences in the career paths of Keown and Gary Frank. Both got initially popular drawing Peter David's Hulk. Frank is now one of the biggest artists in comics and Keown is virtually unknown. It's a real shame because Keown had the potential to be a massively popular artist on the level of a Jim Lee or a Gary Frank.
What i got in this dec 2018 was cable's hellfire hunt, revolution, soldier x and batman rebirth dlx vol 3. Mind u,i live in Jamaica so i had to get my order in(ist of course)early.Got em on xmas eve btw
I'm looking at collecting a lot of what I own as floppies and singles in TPB/HC/OSHC/Omni. I've had a bad time convincing myself that I'm buying the same story twice, which isn't true as one requires me to find all the issues of the book from boxes and the other reasonable way is pulling them off of a shelf all together.
i stopped buying floppies and monthlies cold turkey 8 years ago. I just wanted my library of collected editions to keep growing. That was my reasoning.
Love your channel man, keep it up! I have a burning question that I just can't seem to find the answer to & hope that you may have some insight. It's regarding placeholder omnibus covers. Two books that I got this month from IST had awesome placeholder covers that I had no idea weren't going to be the actual cover. Mostly because all other sites selling the book used the same cover. Guardians of the Galaxy: Tomorrow's Heroes Omnibus & John Byrne's Marvel Universe Vol. 2. What happens is that 24-48 hours before the books are to be released, IST removes the placeholder and will leave the image blank until release, then we get the release day surprise cover! Which in both cases were inferior, IMO. Is there more going on here that I'm not aware of? Also, is there a way to know if a book is using a placeholder cover? A common theme I've noticed is that they are usually using original cover art, when those are usually reserved for variant's. Could this be a way to tell that it's only a placeholder?
Thank you so much for the kind words. Usually the place holder images are because Diamond hasn't released what the final cover is going to look like. Things usually change last minute...most of the time for the better. Sometimes that's not the case. So really it's up to the distributors in what the final image will be. What I hope they change is that Conan John Cassidy cover. That cover is not for me.
@@NearMintCondition Thanks for the input. That's kind of what I figured, but I wasn't sure if there was something I was overlooking. I found it hard to believe that they wouldn't post the cover before release day lol. Amen to that Conan cover, it's atrocious! That's my most anticipated release of the year. I'll be camping IST all day Tuesday the 15th to snag me one of those beautiful BWS variants!
Fantastic haul! :) Can you do a Black Hammer overview? Also, some kind of One Piece review/discussion video as well! I hope that's not too much to ask. Happy New Year NMC!

I'm still missing a few like Contagion/Legacy and some of Dick Grayson's time as Batman but for the most part I'm focusing on New 52 now. For Superman I wanted to do the same. I'm going to try and get everything from Man of Steel to the "Death of" Arc and then just buy some major stories from Pre-New 52.
