Tom Scioli rules! One of my favorites cartoonists going today! Again, thanks for the tip on Transformers vs GI Joe. It was one of my whales. Godland is a fun unabashed love letter to the cosmic stories that Jack Kirby and Jim Starlin made famous. I enjoyed it, but it does putter out towards the end. You can tell their heart wasn’t in it as much. Also, I prefer Scioli’s dialogue over Casey, so I wish it was just a total Scioli project. Still worth the read!!
WOOF WOOF! Great video mate, and congrats for passing 35,000 subscribers! I need to pick up those Booster Gold books, but December can sometimes be a bit rough! Have a good Christmas mate!
Great haul as always Omar. My haul was small this month a trade paperback of Supermen from the pre new 52 era called Supermen: The Journey with amazing art by Ed Benis also Gail Simone wrote a Bizzoaro / Reverse Flash race story. Keep up the great work My friend !!!
Cool Haul! I finally got my Marvel Epic Collections: Hulk Going Gray, Thor War and Avengers Heavy Metal. I got them from inside trades and had Shipping ugraded to UPS Ground for four bucks to avoid the USPS mess. It worked too. Got them fast
Had to put my purchases on hold for the last few months for the holidays, but I'll be picking up some stuff in the new year. Appreciate the heads up about Hellsing tho, I was on the fence but I might have to pull the trigger on those in the future
Epic haul! Omar, have you picked up Jack Kirby illustrated bio by Tom Scioli? It’s a must-read for anyone into comics history, and Scioli did an amazing job on the writing and artwork
Thanks for clarifying that you also are waiting for some books thru the USPS. I'm STILL waiting for delivery of Eternals Omni (IST) and Berserk Vol6 (CGN) when I ordered them the day they came out. St Paul PO keeps telling me for days that they have 'accepted' the package and yet there is sits. I was wondering if it's just me.
Glad to hear u r reviewing Sword Daughter. I know Wood has controversy around him but I hear he has so much good work, so much so that I got great deals on all of his DMZ and Northlanders trades(they r sitting in a pile for me to get to). So I'd like to get your opinion on his work in general.
Guess what, Omar?! I’m caught up! :D ‘Bout time, right? lol. Great haul, my friend! I just finished East of West and (no spoilers of course) I’m so sad I finished it. I almost gave up at around 12 issues but I’m so glad I didn’t. One of my favorite recent reads 100%. As for the % of books I’ve read in my collection, I’d say I’m close to 80%. I don’t have a ton of books, which helps a lot in this case, but I also read digitally too. It’s not quite the same but it’s easier on the wallet Marvel Unlimited and Hoopla wise. Really *really* looking forward to Melanie’s upcoming review of the Neil Gaiman Library Editions. :) Algorithm gang!
Awesome haul as always! I really want to pick up the manga of Monster but I'm waiting on the 20th century boys perfect Edition to be completed first. Then I will pick up the manga of Monster. Weird thing is I already own that anime box set for Monster and never watched it lol. Also I just recently sold all of my Berserk single volumes hoping I will upgrade to the deluxe edition soon.
Interesting about Paper Girls. I got sick of waiting for UK stock of East of West 3 and Slott She-Hulk so went for IST and the postage to the UK. Last time, dispatch was fast. This time, it took almost a week. Paper Girls was the book that took five days to be picked.
If I'm right they completed the MONSTER animated series (72 episodes long) and it's ment to be very accurate to the manga. Only just discovered it during the first lockdown back in March (I'm from the UK). I remember think after 3 episodes ''they won't be able to keep this level of intensity/fear up to 72 episodes'' and they did hahah. What an amazing story and now the books are on my list.

Definitely will have to start Paper Girls now that it's all out, and probably East of West as well (although I can't seem to find Book 1 @ German Amazon right now, ist that OOP?). I got the transformer vs gi joe book after you showed it in the stream yesterday. I paid way too much for it on amazon, but that was still a tolerable price (still over 100$)
A quick question, good sir: Would you recommend getting the 3 Sandman Omnibus' or the 14 book paperback edition? What are the differences? I know that the 3rd Omnibus collects the spin offs, but are the 4 extra books in the newer paperback collection also the complete collection of the spin offs? Thanks in advance.
Whenever you do an Aquaman video, if you have any questions or anything I can be some help. I have all his solo books that are collected and have been staying on top of all the new releases. I’m in the fb group too.
I've got that Booster Gold run in the Showcase, ex library rescue, really need to get around to reading that. A bit tied up with Star Trek this month, deliveries on the Eaglemoss books had been lagging way behind all year and with them going from fortnightly to weekly there ended up being quite a backlog. Including the specials they've put out 150 volumes over four years, with the glut of double shipped months and them making up five books that just never seem to have been sent earlier I've had a full sixth of that land in the last three months. Aiming to get through ~25 Trek books in December. Other than that still keeping up with all the UK released partworks with Transformers having come to a conclusion at 100 books in November. Just a pain that the last book stops three issues of content short of where the volume break between the second and third IDW hardcovers falls, so I'm probably looking at a pricey double dip for the sake of that 60odd pages. First Valerian arrived that I'd ordered last month, art's a bit cartoony but I understand it settles down a bit in later years. Also got the 70s (69-80) Guardians of the Galaxy in the two thick trades, second one double dips with one of the Hachette hardcovers that I already had covering Korvac in Avengers but it adds some stuff as well. Certainly planning on moving on to the 90s run next year. Also grabbed the last three of the Panini Pocket Books X-Men digests that I was missing to cover the current gap in the Epics between the forthcoming book 7 and book 12. Cheap as chips and I'm sure my nephews will appreciate them one day when we get Epics to replace them. Had some cheap DC from a flash sale at Zavvi, should have been five books for £15 but the Hulk on the order didn't show up. Did get the Convergence Infinite Earths books, deluxe edition Archer's Quest and the one that totally made it worth it Annotated Sandman volume 4, absolute bargain but now I'm looking for the earlier ones. I've been sampling several UK Indies, trying to stick to perfect bound stuff that can live on the shelves but also grabbed the first three issues of The '77 not realising they were stapled. Other than that have started picking up the digest sized Sentinel with the latest one coming from the Kickstarter at the moment and Pat Mills' Spacewarp. There's also the Shift anthology which I've cancelled with the newsagent in favour of getting it direct from Comicscene as part of a club package, 10 issues of Shift, 12 year by year century of comics (60ish page?) reference books covering from around 1930 to 2030 and two hardcovers a year. Just started with that and the only physical delivery so far has been the hardback version of the 2021 Comicscene Annual, basically a sampler of short pieces from UK based indie outfits in the style of a classic UK hardback annual. I was already eyeing up the current output from Timebomb and the material from them in the annual has made up my mind about putting in an order once rent week is out of the way.
It was huge gap in my collection so I went for it! Thanks for mentioning! Now fingers crossed they package it well! I avoid amazon for books now as well unless there is some great deal
@@davidc1664 I normally avoid Amazon books because of poor packaging also. I think that particular book ships with it's own cardboard box, sort of like how DC Absolutes ship. But I bought a couple packages of socks along with it just in case lol.
After Hickman's run on Avengers (after Secret Wars), does Mark Waid write those three trades for All New All Different? After that it immediately moves to the Aaron run? Just making sure as I am working my way through Hickman's Avengers as we speak. Thanks all!

Hi Omar, I have a question, but it’s not about anything on this video. I have managed to get uncanny x men omni’s vol 1, pre ordered 3, and 4. Do I need x men classic omni by Claremont, to go with them? Thanks Omar 😊
hey omar how are you? hope well ! my haul for nov was the fantasic four epic's vol 4,5,6,17,18,20,21. reading vol 17 right now. waiting to see if I get vol 25 due to it being back ordered and in stock at the same time at diamond I should know this week if I'm getting it when I call my comic book shop.
@@NearMintCondition so far I am very much enjoying them. cant wait till i can get vol 1,2,3 so I read from the start. thank you omar for all the hard work you put into these videos !
I think the Ultimate V For Vendetta edition was a missed opportunity in the sense that it didn't include the full original edition (the black and white version) along with the modern version, as they did with Killing Joke or Year One. David Lloyd has always said his original black and white version was better.
Great job Uncanny Omar, as ever! I bought Godland for the great homage to Kirby. Unfortunately, the story isn't that great. I read volume 1 and never touched my other 2 volumes, but I'm glad I have them. Just for the art.
V movie vs comic... I didn’t mind the movie, but it’s a very different prism to look at the story through. It’s a very American take on the original, which was much more about anarchism within a Thatcherite society taken to its extremes. I do wish there was a b+w version though.
Probably been asked before, but do independents return books to print if they're out of stock? I missed my chance on East of West and BRPD, hoping they may get a reprint.
True true, good looking out, grabbed 'em. Still curious about the reprints though for other series (I was thinking Deadly Class, not East of West, my bad)
@@balkthor I think books that get reprinted there at Image are really up to the creators themselves. So, unless the creator steps up and says to reprint, I guess the books have to be bought sooner rather than later. I wish we knew how much it cost for them to reprint the books and how much profit they receive in return.
Omar mentioned it in a prior video awhile back Remender hasn't confirmed reprints for Deadly Class nor Fear Agent which is missing for alot of folks. Hopefully soon but it does happen just takes time with the independents depending on rights and licensing. I would love to get my hands on a copy as well enjoyed his Black Science and Uncanny X-Force now digging floppies of Scumbag.

When those Booster Gold hardcovers came out, my dumbass thought they were new printings of the series that spun out of 52. So I sold all my TPBs of that series and bought these. 😪 Those trades are out of print and super hard to find, so now I’m totally screwed. Makes me sad just typing this out.
It feels like DC doesn't want me as a fan because they just keep either letting things go out of print that I want, are slacking off with the omnibuses they make or just don't seem to care about their collected editions. Shame, well it is only good news for Marvel

Really wish Viz Media makes more hardcovers, they did a great job with the FullMetal editions! Also 2:36 cracks me up every damn time lol
:) I love their HCs too.
i loved the Vendetta Movie but never got around to reading the book
I did enjoy the movie.
I got the transformer vs gi joe book after you showed it in the stream yesterday. I paid way too much for it on amazon, but that was still a tolerable price (still over 100$)
A black table cover would be nice.
I’ve tried black and white and the color balance works best with the original table top honestly.
Get the a couple of the trades to see if it's even for you. But I love the Absolutes.
Lol I just bought monster a few weeks ago. It's my favorite urasawa work.
Good choice!
Whenever you do an Aquaman video, if you have any questions or anything I can be some help. I have all his solo books that are collected and have been staying on top of all the new releases. I’m in the fb group too.
I will remember this my brother. I have to get more aquaman books first. :)
So it seems like you got some hell of reading you been doing. :) That's awesome. Those UK indies sound great.
Have you heard of "Something is killing the children"? I've heard great things about it, considering getting it.
Solid series, give it a try, the mystery of it all is what's keeping me hooked
So good, on my top 10 reads of 2020.
Misplaces one volume of Monster there 😅
Grear haul man! Also, can I just read the red lantern run without reading anything green lantern related?
Yes you can! And I love doing things like this. Keep people on their toes.
I normally don't buy books from Amazon. But they have *Big Damn Sin City* in stock if anyone missed out on that one in the past.
It was huge gap in my collection so I went for it! Thanks for mentioning! Now fingers crossed they package it well! I avoid amazon for books now as well unless there is some great deal
@@davidc1664 No truer words spoken
No truer words spoken
@@davidc1664 I normally avoid Amazon books because of poor packaging also. I think that particular book ships with it's own cardboard box, sort of like how DC Absolutes ship. But I bought a couple packages of socks along with it just in case lol.
I came close to purchiang it for that much.
After Hickman's run on Avengers (after Secret Wars), does Mark Waid write those three trades for All New All Different? After that it immediately moves to the Aaron run? Just making sure as I am working my way through Hickman's Avengers as we speak. Thanks all!
After Hickman comes the Avengers written by Waid, Ewing and Wells.
Since Black Friday, I've bought, received or will be expecting soon the following:
Hack/Slash Omnibus 6, Street Fighter V Vol 1 & 2 (Udon), Street Fighter Unlimited Vol 1, Street Fighter Vs Darkstalkers Vol 1 & 2, Nomen Omen Vol 2, Samurai Executioner Vol 1 Omnibus by Koike & Kojima, Path of the Assassin Vol 1 -14 by Koike & Kojima, Golosseum Vol 2 - 5 by Yasushi Baba, Hi-Score Girl Vol 4, Danger Girl: Destination Danger, X-Men The Age of Apocalypse Vol 1, Lady Death Rules Vol 2, Invincible Universe: On Deadly Ground and Above The Law, Invincible Presents: Atom Eve & Rex Splode, The King of Fighters: A New Beginning, Vol 4 , Strain by Buronson Vol 1 -5, The Pro by Ennis, Batman and The Maxx (Single issue comics 1-5), The Maxx Vol. 5, Cerebus the Aardvark: Church & State Vol 1 & 2, Jaka's Story, High Society, Minds, Melmoth, The Essential Wonder Women Encyclopdia, Intron Depot 4 by Masamune Shirow and the Life & Legend of Wallace Wood Vol 2.
Still debating to pick up those Art of Capcom books (maybe 1 before the year ends) you reviewed not long ago. I'm also looking to add Uresei Yatsura Vol 8 and Hellstar Remina by Junji Ito soon.
Can never have enough books.
That last line. Says it all.
UPS is much faster on shipping than the Post Office right now.
It's insane, but you are right.
Hi Omar, I have a question, but it’s not about anything on this video. I have managed to get uncanny x men omni’s vol 1, pre ordered 3, and 4. Do I need x men classic omni by Claremont, to go with them? Thanks Omar 😊
I would strongly suggest it after reading volumes 1 and 2. It's like a director's cut.
@@NearMintCondition thanks Omar
hey omar how are you? hope well ! my haul for nov was the fantasic four epic's vol 4,5,6,17,18,20,21. reading vol 17 right now. waiting to see if I get vol 25 due to it being back ordered and in stock at the same time at diamond I should know this week if I'm getting it when I call my comic book shop.
Hey you! That is a hell of a haul. I hope you are enjoying reading all those.
Now that would have been cool
Surprised you’ve not grabbed those Dark Judges HCs yet. December? ;)
Don't tempt me!! :)
@@NearMintCondition Put them on your Christmas list and do BIG EYES across the room at Melanie
Your "buddy" - David Kyle "Omar" ;-)
HA!
Great job Uncanny Omar, as ever! I bought Godland for the great homage to Kirby. Unfortunately, the story isn't that great. I read volume 1 and never touched my other 2 volumes, but I'm glad I have them. Just for the art.
Oh no! Well hoping to read them in 2021.
Shocked about V for Vendetta. 😱
That's why I'm doing another read though. :)
What were the options for choosing the december reading order?
Booster Gold vs. Exiles.
V movie vs comic... I didn’t mind the movie, but it’s a very different prism to look at the story through. It’s a very American take on the original, which was much more about anarchism within a Thatcherite society taken to its extremes. I do wish there was a b+w version though.
Can't wait to read this again.
where did you get the Red Lantern series from?
From a friend.
Why aren't 90's kids reading Transformers comics? Because we grew up with Beast Wars!
MAXAMISE!
Hey hey! I love Beast Wars too.
Probably been asked before, but do independents return books to print if they're out of stock? I missed my chance on East of West and BRPD, hoping they may get a reprint.
East of West HC vol 2 and 3 available on IST, and all 3 seem plentiful on Amazon.
@@NMan40 Thanks guys! Appreciate the feedback. What about publishers like Dark Horse/IDW/etc where they aren't creater-owned in the same way that Image is?
I have been looking everywhere for star wars legends knights of the old republic omnibus but I can't find it. It isn't even on amazon and it is supposed to come out july 2021. So what's up with that?
Not yet, it will be up for preorder I say starting next month.
Do Batman under the red hood for ORNR! Lol
Hell yeah!
Damn only second comment. I was on this shit 😂😂😂
i ordered something from CGN in october and i got them last week cap monsters and men and the art of esad ribic. i ordered a bunch of odds and ends in the black friday sale i hope they get here before christmas so i can give them away. otherwise ill save them for birthdays.
You chose some great books.
whens ANNIHILATION OMNIBUS back into print
Looks like it came and went already.
@@NearMintCondition is it comig back again soon?
When those Booster Gold hardcovers came out, my dumbass thought they were new printings of the series that spun out of 52. So I sold all my TPBs of that series and bought these. 😪
Those trades are out of print and super hard to find, so now I’m totally screwed. Makes me sad just typing this out.
Oh man. It's a damn shame they didn't collect the whole run too.
Hmmm Jonathan Hickman sounds like my kinda author then. Too many authors hold people's hands way too much...
Give his stories a shot.
V for vendetta > watchmen
Fight me
I don’t want to fight you over your opinion. Instead let’s have a drink and talk about why!
Cowabunga minties 🤙
My dood.
02:43 you did that wrong as a joke right? Right??
Busted.
@@NearMintCondition that sent my OCD into overdrive LOL
Hahaha I love making people snap. :) sometimes I put my volume numbers out of order on purpose to see who’s paying attention.
@@NearMintCondition haha devious!
Would you be kind enough to do a video on their Absolute V for Vendetta, please?
Just doing an overview of it? Yes.
@@NearMintCondition Thanks.
I’m at only 25% of my collection read.
I am probably 30-35%. Keep on buying new books and not reading them.
@@stephentheshywarrior2759 my problem is that I buy faster than I can read so that percentage stays constant.
Never stop reading.
Shazam reading order when
When I get more books.
It feels like DC doesn't want me as a fan because they just keep either letting things go out of print that I want, are slacking off with the omnibuses they make or just don't seem to care about their collected editions. Shame, well it is only good news for Marvel
DC is going through so much right now.
💯🔥👍
YES!
Man image really screwed me on east of west all other volumes were red and they made the last one blue. Boy those that trigger my OCD now I find out that the varient cover is red reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I can't remember what the DCBS variant was.
@@NearMintCondition exactly the same just in red so all the spins match but only if you get the 3rd one the variant
Even Omar is canny, sometimes ;)
If you have time, could you check out my collection video? Would be an honor.
