    also, i'm sure you have thought of this but if you get your power level 5 shooting a little hot. you could get it dialed in for pow level 4 and or 3 for a lighter load. atleast that is my plan. I am hoping I can get zeroed for a heavier slug on 5 and tuned then find a heavy pellet for 4 and a light pellet for 3. don't know how much i'll get into on it however just depends on my mood.

    I hope that you could sometime do the same kind of video for a dar gen 3. This really helps deminish the fear of taking these apart and it sounds like we all will have to if we keep them for the long term. Thanks for your work.

      @@sixshootertexan They are basically the same rifle, very small differences.

      No, there are big differences! I own both the JTS and the DARs. Totally different air gunz!

    • @cubaniton74
      @cubaniton74 5 місяців тому

      @@eddiecahall3824 The only difference is that the DAR is regulated, while the JTS is not, and the JTS has a control button that allows you to control how much air is released, it has 3 or 5 settings I think. Those are the major differences, other than that, they are basically the same.

    Nice to chat with you tonight on CW’s chat channel. Seems you are an extremely knowledgeable machinist that I can learn from. I am curious why so many other folks have had serious issues with the Airacuda Max and you said there is no problem with them? I was really close to purchasing the Max until I read that long thread on the AGN forum?

    Sooooo interesting to me about what kind of tweaks can be done to these airguns to get them dialed in. Add in a professional machinist to diagnose, prescribe and execute those tweaks, and BINGO, we’ve got a great series to watch! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

    I think you have something going wrong in your rifle. I've been looking at your vids and noticed you kept needing to tighten the hammerspring adjuster to reach 800fps. If you are using the JTS .22 pellets you should be way over that fps. I have the .25 model and have my hammerspring adjusted all the way out and flush. And I'm getting 890s on power 5 and 870s on power 4 with the JTS.25 25grain pellets. I've seen other vids about making valve spring adjustments but I've not looked into it myself. Just thought maybe that could be the problem. Anyways thanks for the videos and apologies if I've misunderstood something.

    I can barely hear you out in the range. not sure what you are recording with but there are a ton of super cheap wireless microphones even for your phone. Audio quality is more important than video quality .

    Now, just polish the barrel, to gain a few more fps, and better accuracy.

    Hey bud how did you get the end cap off of the Shroud without tearing it up I've got that gun in the 25 cal I can't budget

    • @sixshootertexan
      @sixshootertexan  4 місяці тому

      Mine just unscrewed. You may apply a little heat to help loosen any bonding adhesive that may have been used during assemble.

  • @donwilson350
    @donwilson350 3 місяці тому +1

    Hey, Bud, don't you suppose to have your shot within 25 or 30 feet Spread to be the most accurate

    • @sixshootertexan
      @sixshootertexan  3 місяці тому

      Not necessarily. Depends on what you're looking for. Minute of squirrel or pellet on pellet accuracy. You can always tighten up the ES by starting and ending at a lower psi. Shot count will go down, though.

    • @donwilson350
      @donwilson350 3 місяці тому

      I know I've got my gun set for 30 good shots. And I've got the spread around 24 feet per second With a 18 grain pellet Maybe Even more But in order for me to get that I fill the gun to 2800 t0 2900 psi My gun starts out at about.
      898 ft per Second and then tops out 922 fps And then comes back down 24 fps spread for 30 shots

    im lucky to get 875 with an 18g pellet no matter where the hammer spring is set
    any suggestions

    • @sixshootertexan
      @sixshootertexan  27 днів тому +1

      @kylep4059 I would suggest checking the transfer and exhaust port size and making sure they are burr free. Next, a spacer to help with preload of the hammer spring.

    I did the stock hammer spring in 5.5 turns in and backed it out until it cooked securely. 14.3 on 5 1100 fps on 3 950 fps. 21.14 h&n match on 5 960 fps. 😅

    I have the airacuda max in 22 cal. I was wondering does anyone have any advice on slugs?. I'm wanting to try and get my gun to shoot slugs out to 100yds as accurate as i can for small game hunting. I would greatly appreciate any advice. Thanks guys and great video sixshootertexan!

    Hi how are you doing ? I was recommended to watch your videos and direct the question I have to you ! I have the Airacuda standard in 25 cal and love the gun !! It's unbelievably accurate ! I actually put two JSB 33.95's through the hole in the center of a Skil saw blade at 50 yards with it !! But what I need to ask you is with the JSB 33.95's I'm only getting 780 fps ! I'd love to be in the mid 800's with the 33.95's ! Do you think just adjusting the hammer spring would get me close to that ?? I've read the owner's manual many times and it says nothing about adjusting the hammer spring ! Can the hammer spring be adjusted on the Airacuda standard ?? And if so what way do you turn it to increase your fps ?? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated !! Thank you for your time !! By the way new sub here 👈👈

    • @sixshootertexan
      @sixshootertexan  Рік тому

      Yes you can adjust the velocities by turning in the hammer spring screw. It's located at the back of the receiver. If it is flush, then that's the minimum. I think 5 turns in is max but not for sure. I was getting 810'ish with 31gr pellets in my friends .25. That was with the adjuster flush.
      Thanks for watching.

    • @sixshootertexan
      @sixshootertexan  Рік тому

      You have to remove the stock to get to the screw.

      @timmy4539 Рік тому

      @@sixshootertexan I know that you have to take the stock off of the gun to adjust the hammer spring but do you turn the adjustment screw clockwise or counterclockwise to get more power ??

    • @sixshootertexan

      Clockwise, in for more velocity.
