Pakistani foreign policy expert Uzair Yunus, in a podcast, claimed that his recent visit to India made him feel like he was visiting a state from the future. Speaking about a well-maintained dargah in his ancestral village, which is visited primarily by Hindus, the director of the Pakistan Initiative at the Atlantic Council’s South Asia Center said that Pakistanis are being fed the 'lies of hate for the sake of politics'. Notably, Uzair Younus shared his views in a podcast on a private UA-cam channel named ‘The Pakistan Experience’. In the podcast, the Pakistani foreign policy expert spoke about his experience during a recent visit to India, as well as the skyrocketing inflation in his homeland, India’s digital strides and communal harmony in India, among other topics.

Our town had a small Anglo Indian community. Every 24th of December our father would take us for midnight mass, irrespective of how cold it was, to show solidarity with our Christian neighbors. They used to take such good care of the Hindu visitors, knowing cake was secondary motivation 😂

In Bengal, durga puja in a particular village starts with azan. This is couple of century old puja. The feudal lord was hindu but the community was muslim majority. He decided Durgapuja is a social festival and it should be celebrated by all. Since then homecoming of Durga till date starts with azan not by mantra.

This is true about India. I was travelling in the South and came upon two so called shrines. One Vellankani (I think) in Madras and the other Kateel Temple in Karnataka. Both had devotees from all walks of life and backgrounds. Unbelievable.

Even in mosque they do rituals like we hindus do 😅. Not only this many examples i can give. Even when going to sabrimala (Kerala), people go to mosque and then go to temple. Because ayyapa had muslim friend. And the mosque is built in remembering his muslim friend. Many stories which have hindu and muslim connecting festival. Even in my home town madurai. Our god ( alagar - avatar of Vishnu) while going to Meenakshi (sakthi)and Shiva wedding stayed in muslim house for a night. These rituals are still happening yearly basis. There are still many more. But many like these things found in South ( that's why south had less religious riots than north).

You have to only see a classic Bollywood movie where at a critical point of the story the main character prays in a Mosque, Temple, and Church. This scene is repeated in many movies and is just accepted by Indians as normal. A true reflection of secularism in Indian society.
It is time Pakistan comes out of Kashmir obsession and focuses on actual development. India has moved on. Kashmir is one of its states but there is no war mongering over it. It is time Pakistan brothers realise that obsessing over the past will keep them there. This Monday - we drove from Patiala, Punjab to Ajmer, Rajasthan (about 600km) to visit the Dargah Sharif.
India is secular coz of hindu majority no doubt . We have issues but we love each other .every religion is equally respected .🇮🇳 Tat I'm sure I cannot find in other countries with such diversity. Especially is countries

All Abrahamic religions like Judaism, Islam, Christianity came long after ancient polytheistic religions like Hinduism, Greek pantheon or Hellenism, Norse Pantheon, Roman Pantheon etc. That is the reason why Ancient religions never understood the concept of conversion. This whole conversion thing was Abhrahamic religion's creation. The harsh truth is India is a secular country for last 75 years only because Hindus are in majority if the opposite was the case then India would have been another Pakistan or Bangladesh.

Islamic structures are maintained, visited, revered and even protected by Hindus in India but contrast that with Hindu shrines/ temples in Pakistan which either have already been converted to mosques or destroyed, the handful of the ones which haven’t been targeted as yet, are in pathetic condition, and are always under threat from the Islamists. Interestingly Pakistanis feel great when they see how their religious sentiments, monuments and culture is being given special treatment in India and by Hindus in particular, but not for a moment do they feel guilty or ashamed of how Hindus suffer in Pakistan and they do nothing. If you go back a little further in history, you will find the tale of invasion, genocide, conversion by Muslim invaders. As this gentleman said, his family converted 250 yrs back.
Those of us who are Hindus, are lucky because it means either our ancestors escaped the invaders’ cruelty or somebody else not in direct line of ancestry in the family paid with their life in refusing to convert.
With that sort of backdrop, it is impossible to forget the past and live in harmony .. which is why the Partition happened. It’s convenient to blame the British, but it’s simply not true that people were living in harmony before them.
Other than India, Greece, Bulgaria and Romania, every single country invaded by Muslims, (though every invaded country saw large scale forced conversions or alternatively, genocide) became Islamic.
That said, I do not believe in taking out the angst against innocent present descendants of such invaders. For all you know some of them were Hindus in their last births. I believe in strong defence, rather than offence but also not seeing history through rose-tinted glasses.
