    This is by far the best 4x4 channel available, the indepth reseach and on road testing is off the scale, nothing else compares.

    I am in love with that Toyota! Unfortunately, here in the states, we don't have access to such wonderful rides (unless 20 years old or more by import laws). I am a huge diesel fan, and my everyday is a Ram 2500 diesel. I do have an FJ Cruiser for weekends/the beach/off-roading, and would convert it to diesel if not for the expense. But I love the ruggedness, dependability, and the utilitarian looks of the Land Cruiser. This is a wonderful series, not only because of that tremendous vehicle, but the beauty of Oman. Thank you for sharing.

      The one in this video is a 1979. It can be yours if you want to drive it in the states!

    Awesome video, brings back a lot of good memories overlanding Oman for almost eleven years.
    (Jebbel Shams means " The Mountain of the Sun" because as it is the tallest of Oman, as mentioned in the video, it is the first Mountain to be touched and "Blessed" by the rising Sun.)
    ;-)

    What an amazing trip. Like others, I really wish that we had access to that series of Land Cruiser here in the US - even without the extra axle.

      +BlindIo42 It still surprises me that you are such a pick up loving nation but you dont have these in the US. Are you able to import them?

    • @BlindIo42
      @BlindIo42 8 років тому +2

      +Mat Guest we can't legally import a vehicle that was never sold here until that particular car is 25 years old. Mercedes lobbied heavily for it to protect the luxury status of their brand, we call it the Mercedes Law.

    • @matgee8892
      @matgee8892 8 років тому

      BlindIo42 well on the plus side these cruisers are just getting started at 25, it is just going to be a bit of a wait that's all!

    Hello Andrew, i really enjoy watching your videos, amazing locations and specially the land cruisers, now that said, there is one country where petrol and diesel are actually the cheapest in the world for overlanding, Venezuela has petrol and diesel Subsidized, so with the black market price of 3500 Bsf x US$ and 91 octane petrol at 1 Bsf x liter, where talking about less than 3 US cents for 90 liters of 91 octane petrol, and 30 US cents for 90 liters of 95 octane petrol, and diesel is much more less, just making small talk, hehe. Cheers, and thank you for the amazing videos.

    It’s bogey axel system .. Lovey enhanced with leaf springs that are articulate with the bogey.
    Something the G wagon does not have .. but how can afford a 6 x6 G .. not many .. the Toyota is more affordable.. and so more logical to get as a 6x6 is needed

    Hello Andrew
    i have seen all your serieses and all your channel
    i have a suggestion as a fan of you .. im an amateur overlander .. i feel i would like that in every video you make you to talk about your equipment in the vehicles you drive .. like your fridge. . your tent .. your coleman stove .. the kitchen set. . the cameras .. even your boots .
    we use to buy these thing online or try to read reviews about it but not every thing we buy is as we see it .. so we would like you to share with is these things :)
    hows your tent in this trip buy the way :)
    and is there any chance that you drive back a landrover?
    thanks and please accept my comments .

    .i like the 6x6. looks like great fun.. you should really try off roading in northern canada...bring a gun(we have some very aggressive animals). (fishing rod for lunches and maybe even learn to use a snare).. ,study a compass ,trees and the skies as a compass will have certain degrees of declaration unless your in manitoba ( 0 degrees) that's where the skies and trees will correct you...

    wrong! this kind of rear suspension isn't good! independent is better! maybe it is working good on rocks, but in sand and mud it works worst. for example - in mud if one axle is pushing by rock or tree, second will go deeper in mud. and one of rear axles will dig deeper. that's is the main reason why Mercedes made 3 indapendent axles - they simply work better in areas where presure on ground is important.

    • @Pr0crustesify
      @Pr0crustesify 8 років тому +1

      The Merc can't even carry (google it before you argue) a ton since the axle will break with more load over undulating ground the Toyota is a tool (it can carry 2.5 tons) over any terrain where the Merc is a toy, maybe better in mud but a toy!

    • @arnisnamajuns
      @arnisnamajuns 8 років тому

      I don't have to google it. I have it in my yard. Mercdedes with two axles can carry 2.5 tonns. G class is most bulletproof car ever made. So 3 axle G wagon dont have problem with that too. Other question - who need 6 wheeler to carry 2.5 tons to remote places? Maybe 1 % of clients. For that money can buy Unimog, there is no need for Toyota LC. Other thing is camper, that I can understand. and for this you dont need 2.5 tons load capacity.

    • @Pr0crustesify
      @Pr0crustesify 8 років тому

      Stop lying 4x4 carries a ton the 6x6 "But beware, the maximum payload capacity is put at a somewhat disappointing 1,433 pounds.

    Americans only desire for things they don't have..... we have the Toyota Landcruiser 200 series here in the USA but it's been discontinued starting this year....it's too expensive and 75% of the USA population just can't afford it... Toyota can bring the cheaper Toyota Landcruiser 70 series and sell it at the mid $35,000 then many Americans who are seriously looking for a real SUV will be able to afford.... we have the Toyota 4Runner but it's getting too expensive and too high tech. Most offroaders just need a simple low tech 4×4 that works well and comes with a low price
