I'm a British expat currently living in Oman and everything you say about the contry is true. I love nothing more then loading up my LR3 and exploring on the weekends, eveyone here has there own secret camping place. Leave no trace (litter)!

Great video. I also have been overlanding in Oman for the last 18 years. Just a small warning to travellers who want to visit beautiful Oman: camping in riverbeds is something you need to be very careful about. People losing their lifes in flashfloods isn't unheard of.
Brilliant video as usual. Your trips made building 27 laptops at work a lot less tedious. One day I hope to follow your footsteps and drag my family across Africa and the world as well.

Hey Andrew, great series. I found your courses on Udemy about a week or so ago and looked you up on UA-cam. After watching your series on finding the source of the Okavango I said to myself "that is the guy I want to learn filmmaking from". So I enrolled in your Udemy courses and I am very happy I did. Thanks again.
Dear Andrew, Have you heard of a hockey stick ? What about a J Curve ? How about an exponential graph ? Well, adding another axle results in the same outcome, to wit, the more axles you have the harder it is to recover said vehicle or to perform any operation with it. My advice - Stick with the 4x4. If you want another axle - go all out and get a Tatra 813. Just make sure to take a 10x10 to recover it. 6 x 6 is a problem. 4x4 is easy :-)
Hazardbone Yes,, true, but when you are stuck it is more than one third extra harder to recover. It's exponential. It's like Diff Locks - One single diff lock makes your 4wd 10 times better but having 2 only makes it 12 times better. It's the reverse for 4wd vs 6wd. On a 6wd you have one third more axles and tyres etc but the force required to recover the entire 6wd is 5 times more than a 4wd. This simple idea is why we all mostly drive around in 4x4's and not in Tatra 10x10's. The recovery effort is substantial, herculean and of titanic proportions.
Ade Larsen we're only talking about an extra 4 to 5 hundred kilos added with the extra axle keeping in mind that it also has drive to it im not sure how much difference it would really make in terms of recovery compared to the standard 4x4 model im sure a dual cab 4x4 model land cruiser would be heavier and harder to recover than this would just my opinion
Aside from the cliche and inaccurate eastern music that's been used in all 3 parts of this series, The trip was very beautiful and wonderful. My friend travels down to Oman by car quite often and even he hasn't been to that beautiful canyon.
Hi Andrew, you should maybe look at getting a drone to really add that extra perspective when capturing some of the great locations you are visiting! Cheers form Botswana!
+John Snow Drones are looked on with suspicion in less developed countries, which can be a problem. And they need someone skilled to work them properly, normally someone dedicated to shooting with it. And while I agree, drones shots are good for production values, they are not something I see as vital. I will be using one next month in Death Valley, and next year in Australia. But when I am travelling alone or with just two of us, I won't be taking a drone along. The time it takes to get a good drone shot is better used doing other things to tell the story. JMO
Watched all 3 videos and they were entertaining but I thought this was all about the 6x6 land cruiser it just seemed to be about location sights and camp sights mostly and not too much about this 6x6 land cruiser and its capabilities.
