Lovely walk around my city centre. I’m going to have to do this walk now. Normally when I go to town it’s to buy clothes or for food with friends. Now I’m going to have to walk and take in the beauty. Thank you.
We're thinking of moving there (after the pandemic) from the States. Thanks for a nice tour of your city. Very interesting architecture throughout. Lovely city. You could improve your terrific video with some commentary about the various buildings and sites you passed.
Thank you! I agree that some additional info would be better. Currently the channel is too small to support such additional work as I'd rather outsource the captioning. One goal of these walking videos was to get more outside and exercise while making videos. I'm workin on a concept for a 2nd channel though and there may be more "info enhanced" videos
Yes, the Northumberland Street with shopping was left out unfortunately. I walked around there after the video to get some food and should put some photos up on the website. Also I noticed that my rain jacket and wind made the audio a bit bad here for this video. I will see when I can return to Newcastle. Would love to visit during summer sometime. Thanks for watching!
I was disappointed that there was no narrative over the movie because having to read the narrative made me miss some of the wonderful views and landmarks. The quiet walking was a lovely way to see the city which I could never have done on my own living in Melbourne Australia. Thank you for making this video and posting it for the whole world to see. I love the Tyne Bridge (like the Sydney Harbour Bridge) which appears in many Vera episodes on the TV. I didn't know that Vera was made in Northumberland and Newcastle although I do now. Now I'm off to watch your walk in Edinburgh.
I sure would like to walk in Middlesbrough though I'm not in England at the moment. That UK/Ireland trip happened in fall 2019 where I visited several places ( ua-cam.com/play/PLaxUrZNxL7WKCP68UxiJCZZIeEG3y5or4.html ). I hope to be back sometimes in the UK to record some more city walks. Thanks for watching!

The Elephant at 30:56 is disgusting, that's a symbol of the destruction of beauty, a symbol of "modern world", which isn't modern, just anti-beauty. By the way, it's very symbolic the fact that horrible elephant is in front of a beautiful classical statue.
What a change left there in '84 , it's so much more clean & greener ...very different to what I remember .

That’s where Billy Elliott (book, film, then the theatre productions) came from (Lee Hall, I think the writer.)
Its was filmed at Easington in co, Durham
Excellent walking tour
I don’t live far from Newcastle, and never have been into the city since March 2020
You'll not be missing much. People shopping for shit they don't need with money they don't have.

Hi Shirley
31:20 look at the contrast between the horrible secular modern architeture (on the right) and the complex and beautiful eternal one.
The 'horrible' building provides accomodation for Students, a very practical and necessary building, unlike the Cathedral.
