Great result - I am colourblind so I find tracking a blood trail very difficult in wet woodland. Good for people to see you following the trail, and learn a little about how it's done 👍
Nice to see two two well experienced outdoorsmen acknowledging each other's accomplishments. Thanks to both of you, for sharing your knowledge and experiences.
ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO! CONGRATULATIONS PETER!!! I DID GET MY BLACKTAIL 56" RECURVE, TOOK A BUCK WITH IT LAST FALL. I HAVE A BLACK WIDOW 57" COMING IN A FEW MORE MONTHS. I PLAN TO ORDER THE SITKA LONGBOW FROM BLACKTAIL. I'M GIVING THE TWO BLACKTAIL RECURVES TO MY GRANDSONS. LOVE YOUR CHANNEL AND ADVENTURES. IF ONLY WE HAD THOSE LITTLE ROEBUCK IN THE STATES. GOD BLESS, AIM SMALL.
Update ob the apples! I was just out there again after 6 days. There is not a single bite mark in any of the apples laying there. So maybe they are licking them. Because they are not eating them right now. Deer investigate everything laying on the ground. They’ll probably be eaten later season, when food decreases🤷♂️
That's weird. I have a private forest where I feed the wild animals in the winter. I use corn, apples, nuts and chestnuts. I have nice camera images of this when the roe deer eats them.@@peterjuulsgaard
@@greywolf1606I think that there are to many options for them right now here. The cornfields are just harvested, so alot of food available. But as you say, when winter sets in they probably eat them
Excellent video as always! I have a quick question: After you shoot the animal, what are the next steps? Where do you take it, and how do you transport it? How about the field dressing and processing the meat? Thanks for sharing your expertise!
@@peterjuulsgaard Awesome! Well, if ever you've got the inclination to show, I'm sure many of us would love to see these technicalities. I think it would be a very interesting video! Thank you friend! Have a great one!
The biggest difference is the fact that we dont hunt feed trees, but trails instead. Meaning waiting for them on the trail on the way to their bed, and in evenings on the trail when they move out from their bed. Hunting height is often 9-12 feet, which are lower than normal for whitetails. Thanks for watching
I like the fact that you took the time to show the blood trailing, showed the shot, and respect to the animal which gave it's life.
Thanks for watching🙏
Hey, roe deer duck the string too! Hee hee.
They sure do, 90% of the time

Perfect shot. Those are apples on the ground? Roe deer love it.

Excellent hunt Peter, congrats on Excellent Roe 🦌 deer, what do you believe the population on them is, per square mile?
Thank you. I have no idea about the population. But the roedeer are the most common deer here. They live all over the country
@@peterjuulsgaard how many pounds do they average before field dressing?
@@outdoorsman9384 as an adult, its around 50-60 pounds, and 30-40 for youngsters
Awesome shot Peter, nice buck, how was ur stay in the United States, I hope u come back and shoot u a nice big white tail

It’s not really allowed on youtube🤷♂️ In this video the field dressing is at the end ua-cam.com/video/K555wg0oJis/v-deo.htmlsi=W4uMgfuEoSCR3VB0
Peter,
You have had whitetail, so what do you think flavor wise between the whitetail and Roe deer? They look like they would be great eating!
They taste about the same. The roe’s are a little darker in the meat
Great shot Mr..! How many lbs & fps your bow..? Bicause your shot always breaks through !
Thank you. Well the bow is 49 pounds at 27 inches. The arrow weight is 605 grains. Around 150 fps
@@peterjuulsgaard thanks for your information Mr 🙏👍
Another great hunt Peter! How would you compare roe deer to whitetail deer for being jumpy ?
Thank you. Fore what I’ve seen they are reacting the same way. One is not worse than the other
Congratulations. Do you have to cut away some meat when breaking a carbonarrow in the animal?
Thanks. No the arrow shaft break inside, so no splinter in the meat. Not that I found at least
Great video Peter! You're great at getting good footage! What's your bow specs/weight?
Thank you. Bow is Blacktail Columbian TD 49@27
Very nice Peter! How does this compare to whitetail hunting?

another awesome video. Congrats, do you have any predators there that can take your deer besides man?
In my region the fox is the main predator. But they only take small fawns in summer times. The wolf is back in Denmark but not so widely spread yet.
