Thank you so much for your videos, I wasn't sure if I wold buy the Sony A5100 for 150 bucks because everybody's videos were so bad, like they couldn't Maximise this camera potential, you're the first one I saw that really made me love this camera !!! Thankssss
Thank you for the comment. It’s good to know that what I have been putting out with this camera is helping people to make there decision. Obviously Continue to do your research and make sure it the right choice for you. But ultimately it’s the time you put in to growing as a photographer that makes all the difference.
@@itsleonsimpson Yeah obviously as you said, it's the photographer that makes great pictures not the camera. I have a friend who buys a new camera every year and yet he is a mediocre photograph. And I am sure that the A5100 fits my need and my budget, I already got a Lumix GH4 but I needed a lighter camera since I do travel a lot. And tbh 15O$ for the A5100 is nothing compared to the Fuji X100V which costs 2K, or the Ricoh GR3 which costs 1K.
@@amd379 😂😂😂 I hope your friend doesn’t see that comment lol. Oh yeah as nice as an x100 is if the budget ain’t there for it then there are other options. I would imagine pair with a nice pancake lens this would make for a nice small travel set up. Prob the 20mm if you want that classic 35mm look.
Just got this camera and after watching I can’t wait to start using it! What rig do you have for yours? Saw small rig discontinued their version for the a5100
Great work. I do love the a5100 - I shoot video only and the 1080p from the a 5100 is great. Lot of good features for shooting videos destined for UA-cam. Good Show Cheers
It’s defo a decent camera for what it is and when it was released. It does hold up in terms of image quality I can’t fault that. I never actually done a lot of video with it in fact that’s prob something it should consider doing in future lol.
@@itsleonsimpson Ouhh okay... Please tell me which is better Sony A5100 or A5000?? I'm confused about choosing between the two... See on UA-cam the results are good between the two cameras... Which do you think is better?
Hi thanks for the comment and the sub. Right now I would say it depends on your price point and what you’re looking to do with a camera eg just photo or photo and video. I would look at something in the a6000s range as they would offer abit more. But if the price is right and just for photo it’s not a bad option. But there may be better. Lens wise I would look at a 35mm or a 50mm if you were getting prime. Failing that a tamron 28-75mm zoom is a good allrounder to start on a budget.
Hey if I remember right it’s either the vitrox 85mm or the Sony 50mm 1.8. I’m pretty sure I started with the 85 towards the first half and switched to the 50mm.
I love your videos leon Yhankkyou for helping me realize the potential of my a5100 and oreventing ne from wasting my money upgrading One question though because nobody seems to know the answer How do you select a different storage destination other thqn internal storage on the play memories app, would make transferring to a larger drive and backing up to the cloud muxh easier then limiting and emptying internal storage after each backup
Not sure I fully get your question here. I have always shot onto an SD card and transferred from that. There is also the imaging edge app which lets you shoot and you are able to select which images you want to transfer over to let’s say a phone. You will need to go into setting though other wise it will transfer every shot.
@@itsleonsimpson Google pixel 1 (2016) phone has unlimited photo video backup Can transfer from camera to phone and unlimited cloud storage no problem, but internal phone storage is 32gb. SD card is 128gb, and the play memories application only seemingly lets you choose internal storages (no expanded storage drives) so this means I'd need to mount a larger driver to my internal storage which would require unlocking bootloader and rooting phone so I could mount that drive, which is the only way I can transfer a whole SD card (it seems, unless someone have a way to change the storage destination and read/write capabilities via Android OS) 🤔 So yes it's a tricky situation, but I suppose normal transfer methods work great still, it's just that I'm cheap and paying for extra backup is.. costly :( I'll probably end up rooting my device but yeah I always appreciate your replies and videos thankyou so much @itsleonsimpson

Awesome video and great photos! What mode were you using? Manual or something else?
I generally use aperture priority during the day and manual at night for more control of the shutter speed and ISO.
Beautiful pictures.
How do you process, adjust your pictures?

A mix between the Sony 50mm 1.8 and the Viltrox 85mm 1.8 in this one.
great pictures! @@itsleonsimpson

I would personally look at tamrons, viltrox or samyang. But it depends what focal length as there are good seals to be had.
