This was the game that first got me the football bug.i was 7 years old and laid in front of the fire in our house at ,15 Cragside Walk in Leeds. I never moved.Leeds united are my team, but this game was the start of my love for football.RIP Jeff Astle.
Ian Leeds back in the premier this year !! As an Albion supporter Leeds gave us lesson the other night.Funny old game i watch Cheltenham Town in league 2 I remember Leeds playng Cheltenham in league 2 and we beat them ( I think )
@@blackvulcan100 Leeds played brilliant the other night, but this is a funny league. We got thrashed at the Hawthorns , anyone can beat anyone in this league.some great clubs in this league.
@@ianbennett1491 I am of an age when I remember Leeds were always a 1st div outfit,Who bits yer legs ahaha Lorimar ? not Bremnar ? Gary sprake have I got the right team ? it a long time ago
@@eddiepower3876 Some people did have color televisions but at the time BBC-2 did not cover the whole country as it was a 625 line service in colour. Your best chance to have seen it would have been if you were located in the south east. That said by mid 1968 nearly all new BBC-2 programming was being made in colour on 625 lines

Wonderful moment, 92 minute! I was behind the goal that Jeff Astle scored in, the Albion did not play well, but the God's were smiling on them that day!
I went to this game. I recall is was not much of a game and Everton having the best of play in 90 minutes creating some real clear chances to have sealed it. I recall Hurst missing that header in extra time. It was easier to score. Also Everton fans outnumbered Baggies fans by about 2 to 1 and making a lot of noise. I recall being highly impressed with the stadium (which was poor by state-of-the-art in the USA), as English grounds were *dumps* in those days.
Everton had done the double over WBA that season and were strong favorite's to win but that pitch was a disgrace after the Horse show had been held there the week before 🤔
Interesting how in the 60s, the english football attacking core seems faster than in the 80s. Until the 90s to the present day when football became fast & agile again.
What a team we had ❤
apart from my sons birth this was the best day of my life .I was there wow 17 great

First Final I remember..I was 11...it was a very dull final but...To think this was once the greatest day in British football..

2:18 and 8:48 are what Albion fans came for.

Well this clip is from "The Joy of 68" DVD but I think you can get a full version of just the final as well.

Paul McCartney was here...He loves Everton Club
Did i mention McCartney was there?
2:07 for the goal
Great footage :) Is the match-DVD of this final in color or b/w? Anyone who knows? From what dvd is this excerpt?
The official match DVD is a black-and-white telerecording. Unlike this footage which is clearly from a tape source. Love to know where it came from!
