Ok, realistically, heres how I could see a real world warthog be made that's practical. A heavy duty truck diesel V8 engine, but also somewhat economical since it's not like, hyper heavy. (No gun attached). The three fuel cans on the back might be a slight risk, so you could load them in the rear of the vehicle. A sort of, latch operated trunk lid, which is pretty much a steel door on the back with a hinge, allows it to open up revealing a rather nicely spacious rear area for packing in groceries. Course, it's a tall beast, so let's lower it down by about a foot. And make the tires a bit smaller. The front cabin, will be somewhat similar. With what I'm calling, bird-wing doors. Basically, its enclosed steel with a glass cutout, that you grab after hoisting yourself onto the part that holds you up on a sort of, foot rail. Idk what it's actually called. So, you grab the latch, and lift it up. The cabin will be fairly spacious, definitely bigger than the one we know and love. And you close it by another latch on the inside. You can obviously see out the sides, but the windows, do not lower. They are hard panels of glass. And, there are no back seats. It's a 2 seater. A winch will be on the front bumper, allowing it to pull itself out of ditches. And it's pretty resilient, not taking a scratch from up to small impacts with other vehicles, and, it will have a special, impact-absorbtion built into the frame. Hopefully to reduce damage to other vehicles in the case of an accident. AC will be an option. And you could have the cabin raise taller, to allow for a more, house drawing style doors to be used. I'd draw it, but I cant draw for shit.

Because it only has room for 3 and it leaves everyone, especially the gunner extremely vulnerable. It looks cool sure, but it's not at all practical. We have superior vehicles already.

well, one (or 2 now i guess) actually exists it's just their hand made by fans. if you wanted to buy one though. maybe they'd be willing but it will cost you 10-11k in material probably double in labor and maybe triple for rarity.

@@BestKCL it wasnt. The Warthog was designed before Orian much less the fallowing Spartan programs. Its an FAV it, like the humvee, was never designed for frontline combat. It was ment to be a fast scout vehicle that also could do force application during riots, anti government uprisings etc

They had Jeeps that were open like this in WWII and they proved to be highly effective. I think the purpose of them being open is so that the soldiers can jump in and out very easily while on the move

People keep saying "oh it's so open what if people shoot at you!" but don't seem to understand that the thin metal many car roofs are made of, including unarmored Humvees, won't stop a bullet. Personally I'd prefer to be able to see who's shooting at me and fire back without a big tin roof getting in the way. As a scout and utility vehicle, the Warthog is amazing
The military already uses something like this. We have them in my unit. They’re called the GM ISV. It’s an doorless military utility truck based on the Chevy colorado .
